Cool update Rob. That post hole digging tips are radical, never though about using a 'SPADE' bit for literally digging a hole! Stay safe and merry xmas 🎄 👍😁
I guess it depends on the soil, mine was hard and pretty dry so the spade bit was great for breaking it up. Vacuum was the absolute best idea I've had all year though!! Recommended!
Good to see you back bro. Man I think you have changed the face of hole digging forever! You should sell that idea to those gold rush guys with the large expensive wash plants!
Hey bro! Lol, reminds me I used to watch that gold rush reality TV series religiously for 7 series or so. About as much chance as striking it rich on RUclips I reckon.
@@TakamiWoodshop same but I'm hooked again on the new season. Plus the white water one it very interesting. Like the fence mate I may have to build one myself soon and you've given me ideas 👍
I had to stop watching - I was literally looking up where to buy all that mining equipment and trying to scope out places in NZ that still had any potential. Got a bit sick of that young guy - forget his name .. hold on ... yes that's it ...Parker Schnabel, but it was a good series. I've got big long fence that's falling over to repair - gonna be a 'mare ! Good luck with yours. It's not too difficult but I would recommend a good long accurate level, or a self leveling laser if you can get one - for getting the posts plumb and everything lining up etc.
@@TakamiWoodshop yep that's the guy hes obnoxious but knows what he is doing. We cant do any gold mining in my country so was never any chance of me getting into it. Well I just need to rase the height of 2 boundary walls I may just screw into it but fencing over the lot may look better 🤷♂️ I'll let the boss decide either way.
I even tried bitcoin mining for a while.... Didn't get any and almost melted down my work laptop. Pretty hard to raise height of fences cos the posts are not deep enough and over they go in the next breeze. Rebuild?

Hello my friend. does he like tool holders for the workshop. I always do it too. the garden fence looks very solid. Thank you for sharing. I wish you a healthy and merry Christmas. See you. greetings....
Good to see you back 'posting' again Rob. It's been a pretty crappy year, and getting worse at the moment, but made more bearable by the 4 weeks we spent in the best country in the world, it may seem bad to you, but you don't know how lucky you are. - Stay safe.
Thanks mate, yes we've been lucky for sure healthwise - really feel for you guys. My main problem is the economic fallout - most of our customers are Eu and Au based and I'm amazed I'm still in a job to be honest. You timed your trip well!! Take care!
Hey Pete, Yeah man I'm alive, well and truly, but just had a rest for a while. Had to step back and just enjoy the time in the workshop "alone" for a while. It was good. Hope you are all good dude. Big freakin' mess we are all in ... so grateful (always but more now) to be stuck down the bottom on an island! Take care man - not long to go!!
Cheers Chris, I wanted something more fancy - like semicircle holders for the blade guards to nest into, but .... I just wanted them gone - they're invasive! Yes! ... an avalanche, they remind me of clamps!
What a awesome idea using the spade bit, our soil has a thick clay like soil. I just wish I thought of that spade bit trick, I’ll have to try this next spring. To cold in the Northeast right now lol. Take Care.
The idea came from me thinking to myself in frustration - "arghh, I need one of those rock breaker hammer drills that has the big spade bit attachment on it 🤨". Take care Thom.
20 needs a bigger hole... as huge a hole as it was. Hope your work turns out ok. Was let go a month ago when the company was sold. No unemployment, no prospects, no ‘stimulus’. Yay for working my ass off my whole life just to be homeless again. That’s a proper fence. Very nice !
Oh shit man, so sorry to hear that. Some people at my company got let go and I've taken salary cuts but at least I still have a job so I'm grateful for that. (still nervous about it) Hope you can find your way through this dude!
I don't think there's a hole big enough to burry 2020, unfortunately! Good to see you back on track mate👌🏽 What, no Makita socks while digging that genius "spade bit" hole! 😳 Sacrilege... How's that fence, man. Looks pretty damn schmicko, fantastic job.👍🏽 Take care bud.
Cheers Bill! yeah 2020's been a mother that's for sure and can't wait to see the end of it. The Makita socks have holes in them that are nearly big enough to bury it unfortunately, and even sadder, my Makita sunnies got a crack in the frame and dropped a lens the other day. What more can go wrong!! Merry Xmas mate!
Glad to see you back! Was going to message on Instagram to see if all was well (and inquire about the delivery of my car, still hasn't shown up 🤷) then I saw you post about some posts on your stories. 🤣
It's funny actually, I sold the car to a young fella who came with his dad. They live on a multi million dollar property but I still get the alerts when registration and warrent of fitness are due. I assume the rich dad is not helping his young son because he's paying the registration (late I might add) on a month to month basis!
Onya Kiwi brother, bounce back & be resilient mate because if you enjoy sharing your content I’ll keep watching it & budget on tools is always a consideration 🍻👍👍👍
Thank you Rob, I’m pleased you buried 2020 for all of us! Looking forward to seeing your future projects.
Thanks Paul. Roll on 2021. cheers, and compliments of the season to you!
He's alive! Never seen anyone vacuum a post hole before. Roll on 2021...
I reckon the vacuum chopped about an hour off per hole. Way quicker than spaghetti cans!
Good luck with all the yard jobs. All the best for 2021. Cheers, David
Thanks very much David, and the same to you! Let's hope things start to get back to normal in 2021!

Excellent Rob ! Well done, I will have to come over for a personal inspection !

You did it my friend you buried 2020 and it's a deep hole! ☺ Nice fence and very handy tool rest for your grinders! Merry Christmas Rob! 🎄🎄🎅🎅
Thanks Takis, we all look forward to 2021 and I hope, the end of the pandemic. Have a great Christmas my friend !! 🎄👍🏻
Nice fence Rob👏👏👏
Thank mate 👍 Have a great Xmas!

Great, simple tool holder Rob 😊 I will borrow that idea and try and stop the usual avalanche of angle grinders 😂 ॐ

...and then this week Makita landed a new 36V Auger... looks epic. (So does the fence ;) ) Merry Christmas mate!

@@TakamiWoodshop nope still not here. I blame the pandemic, it's been slowing down shopping everywhere. 😓
