Really great Video. Got it finally working with this, thank You for that =) Now the one thing left is to find a Solution/Tutorial on how to get HTTPS without a Domain working on an intern Network.
Thanks! internal IP-based HTTPS can be a little awkward, as you'll need to use self-signed certificates which then require accepting browser security warnings on access here and there unless added to the browsing system trust store.
Thank you for great video and your time. In future, maybe you could make a similar guide with migration for example, moving data from one BookStack to another.
Thanks! Yeah, could do a video on that, although can get complex to do in detail due to all the different webservers and hosting methods. Just focusing on the data would be fairly simple, since our new System CLI (www.bookstackapp.com/docs/admin/system-cli/) allows easy backup/restore of data in a compatible format, but it's still a little new. I may make a video once the CLI is a bit more battle tested. I did do a quick demo of this in my video here: ruclips.net/video/tvjxieqtCrw/видео.html
Hello! Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Has anything changed with Debian in the last year or so that changes anything in the video? (Probably not--it is Debian--but I'm a bit paranoid. :) )
No video about that at the moment. In the future I may do a video for RHEL/Rocky/Alma installs, and then probably one to cover the system CLI which provides simpler backup/restore (Which could be used for migration) but can't give any timescales for such videos.
A domain is required for following the HTTPS setup part of this guide. Otherwise, you can run BookStack via just an IP address but getting HTTPS becomes trickier without a domain.
Hey great Tutorial overall but when i try to acces the Webserver via the domain i get an 500 error and when accesing it via ip i only see the default apache site any ideas would be apreciated
A 500 error message should get logged at some level. I'd start by looking to the apache error log, typically found at `/var/log/apache2/error.log`. In there you should find lines logged, for the same time your cause the 500 error to appear, hopefully with more detail about the error. Otherwise there is also a BookStack error log file and a BookStack debug mode. Details in the docs here: www.bookstackapp.com/docs/admin/debugging/
@@BookStackApp Thank you for the quick reply, turns out it was a permission error seems like i misstyped something when setting them Its all fixed now!

Nothing that comes to mind, the steps should be exactly the same as far as I can think!
@@BookStackApp Thanks! Looking forward to trying this later today. :)
Hi Dan, thanks by this vídeo. I using bookstack at my IT work with Ubuntu server, but i want migrate to rocky linux 9, can u provide a video about?

@@BookStackApp Thanks. I'm getting stuck at the weburl part. Also request: a PROXMOX container guide for BookStack. Thanks!
