New c8+ (18650) uses osram kw cslnm1 1100lm while m2a (21700) uses kw cslpm1 1500lm. kw cslnm1 seems to throw further than kw cslpm1 while kw cslpm1 gives wide beam than kw cslnm1. If not battery problem, check the brass ring at the + side. Take of the middle tube first and check whether the brass ring is tight or not. I think this is a problem.

@@detudoumpoucoedc3417 I think I experienced this once when I made a mistake when installing flashlight and causing short circuit through a reflector. This made the driver didn't work properly and finally broke down. Just what I thought. Please check your battery, the ring at the tail cap. Battery type - flat top, button top. If you still have the problem, try new driver.

@@ryukimura7302 I would recommend sst40 5000k as it is more versatile than osram. If you really need a super throw for long range, osram is a suitable choice.
