Someone in Thailand have this car in bright yellow, and change the front & rear logo into Mercedes, then put AMG & C250 badge on the back. I don't know why but i'ts belivable at first 😂

@@dt8101 Unfortunately i don’t live in Thailand so I don’t know much about it. But I live in Indonesia and here there’s 2 chinese car factories. Wuling and DFSK

I could say many of MG’s customer always compare their car to European brands and insult Japanese brand.
The main reason because the company use the word “brit dynamic” for advertising with english flag. This make MG’s customer believe that they are rocking on the EUROPEAN car which is not anymore !!
MG doesn’t prove any reliable, example like many of them shutdown on the street. Some part of plastic break off.
And yes it’s 20-30% cheaper than Japanese car and come with full-option but never stable lol

People of Pakistan are going crazy after watching this car, expected to launch in the country sometime next year. Really impressed by it's design and interior!

@@arminius6506 But here's the problem. As the reviewer said it's just a 11,000-16,000USD car with not much comfort and handling. If this is the case Civic and Corolla will be better cars if MG Pakistan doesn't price it below Corolla/Civic and provide better features.

@@Darkest_matter This is not a small hatchback. This is a C segment sedan. So price for this is justified if you live in China.
@@Darkest_matter We were getting Honda Civic at 30K US dollars before Koreans and Chinese invaded the market. And our Civic aren't well built like Japanese Western variants, now they've discontinued Honda Civic.

Thank you for reviewing a new generation of MG 5 but on side of MG it looks similar to the 10th generation of Honda civic.

In Chile we get the saloon ICE version of that car as an MG5. It's actually a Roewe i5, sister brand also owned by SAIC.

It's interesting to see how they're trying to revive a dead British brand
Maxus of cargo van fame is also now a Chinese owned ex-British brand. SAIC tried to revive Rover as well, but MG didn't own the brand, and Ford didn't want to sell it to SAIC.
IT is indeed interesting. Too bad the products seem so generic at first glance. I wonder why they don't take more design advantage from the heritage of the name.
@@Cubcariboo actually after a little research, they actually do! We mock the ZS as if the front looks like a Mazda but MG has already used that big roundish grille before.
This car does not look "busy". Some of the vehicles profiled on this channel tend to look a little extra, so this was a nice change of pace.

NOT sure why a Chinese firm even bought the MG name ...buying Rover or SAAB would have made more sense ..particularly when they ignore the sporting heritage ..these are definitely Morris Garages.
Mg was profitable unlike rover during the takeover in 2005

Impossible to buy either you mentioned. Rover name owned by Land Rover, Saab name owned by the group that works with aircraft and military things (Saab's available auto assets are under Evergrande as NEVS after a long journey). Rover's assets were bought by SAIC and used for Roewe, MG by Nanjing which in turn was then taken over by SAIC.

This car caused alot of craze here in Thailand, and the MG community here is borderline SIMP tbh, some went as far to rebadging it with a Mercedes logo, so ironic.

MG is quite inconsistent with the design language of their cars, the car emblem is the only thing that consistent.

Put a body kit on it and maybe change the rims and better looking than the poj mercedes at a fraction of the price.
Please reduce the filter. It make dark colors even darker. Otherwise decent video as always. Marvelous car. Eager to see this car on Pakistani roads.
It is recommended that you use Apple's equipment to watch. Apple's display colors are more accurate. At least I have no problem viewing color on my device.

This car is making crazy the people in México, they even think they were buying a supercar, some guys called it The Cupra Killer (Cupra is the sport line of spanish automaker Seat), but when the car came out, well, they discovered is not the cheap supercar they were expecting.

Maybe the difference is that the 6 is a hatchback and this one is a sedan but yes, the lines between the two models have blurred with the new 5.

MG6 is a real sporting car both inside and outside to MG5. I bought three MG cars and now I'm driving a MG6. I also have had a test driving of MG5. It's much different between the power/transmission/suspension system of the two cars. MG6 is better and more expensive than MG5. For MG6, it has a 1.5 turbo engine wiht 181HP and 285NM. For the 1.5 turbo engine on MG5, it is only 177HP and 250NM.

You should get a MG5 with 1.5L turbo engine, not this one. Then you will get what you want.

don't expect from a mid level spec with CVT to be sporty, you should have tested MG GT the one with 173 HP and 250 NM and 7 DCT then you can judge if sporty or not, right?

Problem with MG and any Chinese brands is that when something breaks you will find yourself 2-4 months without a car because they are ordering it from China.
