As an industrial designer myself, here's my take as to obvious similarities:
Grille: Rolls, Lincoln MKS, or BMW 7 series (G12)
Rear lights: Cadillac XTS (facelift), Mercedes S-class (W221, facelift)
Trunklid: Mercedes CLS 1st gen (C219)
Fake exhaust tips: all Mercedes models (and stupid as hell)
Vertical chrome strip behind front wheel arch: Jaguar XJ, Range Rover, 7-series (G12)
Chrome strip across rear light assembly: current Audi A8

There’s tons of Chinese vehicles on Paraguayan roads (where I live) and the biggest issue, by a country mile, is the lack of parts when something breaks. Even a minor thing like a bushing can be impossible to get, let alone transmission or suspension components (known to break in potholed roads here in Paraguay) and so on.
The cars are not bad. But there’s near-zero aftersale support.

Many years ago a clothes designer fade up because whatever design she made always rejected by japanese importer. Then she buy branded clothes from france, remove the label and replace it with her label. And the result: all rejected. Then she realized that: not the design, but the japanese importer attitude that already think that: if it is from certain countries, it must be bad.
I wonder what the reaction will be if we can rebrand (temporarily) an unknown Chinese car as one of european car: will the comments still about "the design copying X" or just simply talking about the car itself.

I like the front end more than the Rolls Royce. The wider grille fills in the space better, and the body panel flowing over the top of the grille looks sleeker and more aerodynamic, visually lowers the grille. The rear does not come off quite as well, but it is not offensive. I wonder if the interior plastic film is factory applied and just not taken off. I'll admit that once I did not realize it was there, it was well done and not obvious.

The idea Chinese cars are bad is based on the same as "our" automakers in the 70s and 80s when affirming Japanese or Korean cars were bad, it was all but a fact. But it's always easier to expose others' pseudo-mistakes than fixing ours.

@@mmadmic There is a huge difference between Chinese goods and goods from Western first that are made in China. The latter are made in factories designed and paid for my those companies to the same standards as they build them anywhere else. The Chinese factories are anything but. Chinese firms just churn stuff out with virtually no rules to stop them doing what they want, no quality control to stop them using much cheaper materials and techniques, and so on. There are exceptions to the rule but they are exceptions, not the norm.
Western manufacturers go there because they don't have the same health and safety rules that we have here, which saves the manufacturers money and labour is at least 10x cheaper with the typical factory workers wage being somewhere between £30 and £60 a week. They don't have things like maximum working hours, paid holidays and pension plans so it is vastly cheaper to make your products in China even if you have to build the factory and take over quality control.
We also still class China as an emerging economy, which means that we're subsidising their exports so it's vastly cheaper to ship your goods from there. That's why you can buy goods from China for less than the price that it costs to post a letter across the country - we're paying for their shipping costs!

Lets just say it doesn't look any "more similar" to another car, than any other car's similarity to other cars on the market currently. The very fact that a vehicle with this kind of design outside and inside, and this kind of comfort costs 1/3 of its competitors from Germany only shows how expensive the brand name on the hood has become. The main culprits for this are buyers, who are ready to massively overpay for their vehicle if it does say BMW or Mercedes or Audi.
