sign up for an essence last week. got 10 yrs from the dealer. drove the veh, no problems....ive been driving a car for 30+ yrs with no collisions so i dont need all that bs that are in cars nowdays!! im not sure why the media are fixated on safety things these days as its pretty simple....drive safety, focus and u will be ok without the media telling u dont buy a car unless it helps u to be safe.....i will drive this car for 10yrs hassle free....mmmm...👍👍👍....buy a european car and make a comment after 4 yrs and let me know how u have travelled?? not well i think!!! it drove well and with 10 yrs warr who cares if it doesnt tell me i have a veh next to me....turn ur head and look!!! wake up people....🙋♂️
Yep I agree, way too many people depend on the technology and are incompetent drivers. They need to hand their license in if you can't drive without the tech you shouldn't be driving at all
Safety equipment saves lives, that simple. Your opinion will not save you If you get into a tricky situation. You may never need it or in a split second it may save you,
There are plenty of dummies like you with lots of confirmation biases that get into accidents later in life. I have never seen a fire alarm in an office ever going off except for drills. But I am glad it is there coz I am not stupid and know the world doesn't revolve around me and my limited experiences in life.
@@daweigo6851why don't you blame the misbuitsh asx that has same 6 airbags as this mg5 n without any other modern technology saftey features. ciz it is a Mitsubishi? what is the price is mg5? its worth the value
This is nearly a goldilocks car. If they ditched the sun roof… too hot…put a light in for the back passengers, put in a hatchback, then it would be a goldilocks car. Having an electric seat for the driver is a real winner. This is the best car I have seen in 3 years. With Android Auto, a tilted infotainment screen toward the driver, ..everything has been considered, I like that, and I don’t care a hoot about not have the safety bells and whistles. Without them, you have heightened senses to watch more, you become a better driver. In fact, lane keep assist is turned off by most drivers as you travel on a wide range of roads. Lane keeper assist freezes your steering wheel, when the correct direction is not what the ‘freeze’ does. It can be useful during long distance/freeway driving to warn you not to wander off the road
I believe if the MG5 was a wagon along with better safety features, it'd wipe the competition off of the map haha... or I'm just biased towards wagons..
Had the basic 5 today as a courtesy car whilst mine was being serviced. It is……basic. Drives nicely though, precise, well balanced and if you can find the power, it will tolerate being thrown around a little.
Lane assist is the biggest safety hazard on the planet haha. My i30 has many a time tried to swerve me off the road in the hunter. No road lines = death
Those who complain this car s shortcomings pls pay attention. This mg5 only sold 14000 aus dollars with essence class. drive away. how can you expect too much to this car with this price. what ur guys should complain is the local tricky cheeky dealers😂😂😂😂

The MG5 is a good affordable first car or for those on a budget. I drove for years cars with zero safety tech except safety belts.

Very few cars hit fuel claim figures. A lot depends on the lead amount in the foot.
Their engines are GM sourced, so think Holden Cruise, Captiva
7yr warranty. Keep for 7 years then flog off and buy electric....we'll all be driving electric by then.
