German 1893 canteen, late war manufacturing. Many were covered with feldgrau enamel, much more resistant. I found one complete in a nearly new condition, with its velvet cover, for only 5 euros as the seller thought it was a boy scout canteen... splendid job you did here !
Was thinking OMG when it was blasted more holes than Swiss Cheese. I guess that far gone you have no choice but to go the whole way and rebuild it. Looked great when rebuilt.
Despite the negative comment above , I respect the fact that you showed such tenacity to bring the flask back to life 👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻.. PS , thought you were going to make a quirky light fitting out of it at one point 😂😂👍🏻
Excellent and interesting restoration, but with those hundreds of holes, I think the opportunity was lost to turn it into a very much unique projecting nightlight. Artistic, and would give an irredeemable item a further purpose. Worth a thought next time.
Indeed. What about the inside? It's a drinking bottle, suppose you were to drink from that. Then the drink would come in contact with that polyester. Also the outside is not correct. In WW1 there was no polyester. This restoration is not authentic. It is an authentic bottle, with a layer of polyester on the outside. That's not right.
To be honest, while I appreciate the effort and the skills, I don't see the point of this restoration. It has lost every trace of wear and tear that would reveal the traces of history. Esthetically, it is very basic shape, you can find similar flasks wherever you want. Finally, it can't be used as a flask. All in all, I don't see the purpose of this item. In my opinion, if there was any way to cover the inside of the flask and leave the outer surface with visible marks and scratches, that would've been much more unique and interesting solution and it would say something about the history of this item. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just think this restoration went in the wrong direction.
Yeah.I don't see the point of restoring oryginal old items to look like replicas.I don't say all his work in the channel is bad but this type of restoration is for me hurting to watch. Stick to old video's without using sandpaper and polishing to shine like new.

I already thought you should make a night lamp with stars out of it😅🌟

It look so pretty that way.

Beautiful restoration mister good job well done
Now THAT was surprisingly good!!
Had to laugh when I saw all the holes😆 Well done !!!
Harika sonuç. İç kısmına da bakım yapılacağını düşündüm ama yeterli temizliğe ulaşmış olmalı.
That was a very good restoration, 100/10
But do they have lids?

Alter Schwede!!!! Die Flasche hätte ich ad acta gelegt! Respekt 👏
Is the welding safe from lead?
Very nice final finish. I agree with not drinking water from it. But you did make it look like new issue... Thumbs Up!
I literally ❤ fall asleep watching your videos they are calming
Thanks for watching my videos)
Wow, love it 🧡
There wasn’t anything printed on it back jn the day?
Прекрасне відновлення! Власне, як завжди.

If I find another such flask, I will make a nightlight)

Дякую)
I never would have thought of repairing metal with fibreglass! Amazing job!
Why did you paint the flask, sand it off and paint it again?
Amazing job ❤
Everyone drinks water from that in an emergency. Good video.
Totally surprised with the outcome! FANTASTIC 👌👌
Okay...

the inside doesn’t matter ig, it’s not like you can drink from it anyways. lol.
@@KeiKeiXx No indeed not... It would have been nice though if you could (safely) drink from it.
Dude! One of the most satisfying restorations I watched. Great job. Anyone knows the country of origin? My guess is Austro-Hungarian.
Maybe it could also be German
Phenomenal restoration!
16:22 should have just mounted a lamp in it, made a stand, and called it a night light.
Good idea)
Awesome work 😀
That is a lot of work, but you did a good job.
Amazing!
What effort to restore! All it needs is a piece of cork to plug it.
Дуже крутий результат ! 10 з 10 🤝
Nice work but i am surprised that there is any metal left. I don't see a particular point of restoring it. But it looks nice
I think any rusty artifact would love to be found by you and get reborn!!!!! Your many talents are evident!!! Great job sir!!!!!

It’s like a mummy: the original decomposed body is in there somewhere, encased in a homomorphic “sarcophagus.”
Absolutely, he completely ruined a piece of history.
If this flask was in better condition, @Vitriden, I'd agree with you.

Wouldn't it be faster and easier to use a wire wheel and then media blast?
It would not give results and there would be a lot of dust.
No cap/lid? This is incomplete. Ice job though.
