I totally agree... All this are correct ... As for the sound you can hear the difference on louder system ... Obviously the real sm58 sounds bright and clear while the fake sounds thin and a bit muffled .. i did my testing on recording a bit hard to tell but its there and can tell the difference .. also I need to add that newer Shure SM58 have QR codes inside the terminal port that alone is proof of authenticity...
Definitely a lot thinner from the fake one, from what I remember it’s pretty much the expectation of a cheaper end mic so not a lot of low end or clarity and I remember it being fairly quiet too meaning I had to push the gain a lot more. Of course that’s just my personal experience, fakes can definitely vary in quality It’s a lot easier to distinguish the difference through reference or monitors, rather than a speaker system setup in an environment you’re unfamiliar with, which makes it a little difficult to tell buying on the fly. If you’re planning on purchasing one, the best bet is to open it up and check the soldering and if you wanted to be extra sure, weighing it on some scales ☺️
I’m sorry you feel that way friend! If it helps I’d say it’s less of a review, more explaining my sitch and what I noticed to help others not get duped into buying a fake one too (especially for the cost of a real one) ☺️ The quality of sound will be subjective depending on the quality of the fake, having the physical differences to look out for when shopping might be just as useful. Especially if you don’t have the opportunity to test the microphone in an environment and/or equipment your ears are used to
@@MrConnorTV1 aw no I’m sorry dude! I’m not sure how easy it is to do on eBay but if it’s a fake one and it was advertised as real, hopefully there’s a way to get yourself a refund!
Sorry to hear. Same happened to me with an SM57 model. I went after them and got my money back. The eBay listing did not say anything about it being a replica, fake, etc. False representation! Don’t let them get away with it. Good luck!
Maybe you can check if yours has a suspension. The Shure SM58 features a proprietary pneumatic shock-mount system, a distinctive design element that isolates the microphone capsule using a soft rubber balloon-like suspension.

reviewing 2 microphones without testing their sounds is actually stupid and foolish and waste of time
