Man, your channel is really underrated. You are quite literally the only RUclipsr who focuses on Fable, giving the rest of Fable fans a source of entertainment that we hadn't had in awhile. I know the community is relatively small, but I think when the Fable reboot comes out and if it's great, people will come looking for more Fable content and it'll be your time to shine. Keep grinding and doing what you do my friend.
I appreciate the kind words! Fable has so much information and I do love piecing together the information that players may have missed. I'm expecting the Fable community to grow massively when we get more information!
Masonite23 I love skyrionn and I feel so happy every time he uploads something fable related, but he isn't the only youtuber who covers fable content. There is another channel called brok and sindri where they cover fable content aswell, usually lore or theory discussions. I'd recommend checking them out aswell.
I think the Sirens were repurposed for the Banshees we see in the ruins of Oakvale as I see a lot of comparisons between them in terms of being (what appear to be) towering, ethereal creatures. Plus, Banshees have their wailing while Sirens are supposed to sound beautiful, so I’d be willing to bet that was the commonality between them. I think that for a game where most of the creatures you meet are automatic enemies, they realised Sirens wouldn’t work in this format so they changed the focus to the Banshees as explicitly and outwardly evil creatures to defeat, rather than trying to work some kind of deception mechanic in there or something that just wouldn’t work with 2’s combat system.
Fable II being my personal favorite one, I would've absolutly loved seeing more of these concepts put in the game. I also think that Fable II should have expanded more on the Old Kingdom even just with little hints put here and there all across Albion.
I think with The Old Kingdom, they gave us just enough information for it to stay fantastical and mysterious. It was kind of a fine line. I would like a game dedicated to that age though
You know I can’t help but wonder how this franchise would be if peter did not hype up each one as the second coming of Christ and actually communicated with his team to see if that is possible before he promises something
Art books and design bibles are really underrated for use in study, Theory craft, and just general appreciation of games. This art book is just as cool as the Jak and Daxter one with little bits of info
Really cool find on the artbook. Great video as usual. I really like the Balverine variations, like they are evolving and specializing based on their environment, how they were turned, or who they were as people (ala Left4Dead zombies).
iirc, the clown hobbe was called "the hobbe child catcher" which im assuming was cut to stick the lore stating that whispering voices were what lured in the children
Nice job on covering cut content for Fable 2, mate! Cool to see someone else make such an indepth video about the topic! A lot of stuff in here that I didn't even know for the second game.
9:10, I suspect that Well Cave and Well Cave may have been the way from Brightwood to Deepwood given they both describe what sounds like an underwater cave. Perhaps this would've been some underwater gameplay between Brightwood and Deepwood, or maybe just a loading screen between the two.
Me and a friend of mine have gotten back into fable going backwards from 3 to lost chapters/anniversary so it's been awesome to find out more lore or other things I didnt know about them.
What a fantastic video to stumble across. I own this book myself along with the guide book but have yet to go through it in detail. Your presentation of the contents and how its information ties things together in the lore makes it a lot more comprehensible and easy to follow. Now I want to spend way too much time in wikis again.
Loved the video! Might be my favourite of yours so far! Could you do a origin video on Garth? For someone so powerful and knowledgable in the Fable universe, we almost get no backstories on him.
I get what they were going for in the Crucible where you would have a bunch of different levels to suit a lot of different play styles and different environments for different creatures, it’s a pretty neat idea but when you compare it to the epic scale of the Witchwood Arena or how cool the spike based designs of the original concept for this arena looked, it’s hard to not feel disappointed by the execution of it. It just always felt like it was lacking something majestic those versions had.
@@Skyrionn I love fable I wish there were more stories different locations besides borrowstone and oakvale can't wait to see what playground has to offer for the new fable.
The "New World" quest in Fable 3 never featured sirens, the women on the rock were stranded and wanted help but the delusional Malusa thought they were sirens. Hence why when the ship (accidentally) circled back to them, they found 2 skeletons. Where sirens DID feature was in the book Fable: Edge of the World, which was meant to bridge the story from Fable 3 to Fable: The Journey. The Hero of Brightwall had a run-in with them in Sky Blue Lake in Samarkand.
I kinda wish they'd went through with the different balverine types. I still love the balverines we got, it would've been awesome to have balverines that potentially use will. If something as dumb a hobbe can learn will, surely a balverine could too
I bought the Fable Legends artbook and I have a pdf of the Fable 3 artbook. Now all I need is this one and I will have them all!!! (Unless there's a Fable 1 artbook I don't know about)
Awesome video man, you get better with the camera angles and pretty scenery in every episode. I finally got a copy of fable anniversary on my Xbox 360, I found it in a game store in Michigan :)
I loved Fable 2. I think I like it more than the first. The world just feels more vast and advanced. Using guns was so much fun. I do admit it is lacking enemy variety. I think Fable would be better as a TRULY open world. With so many more side quests you can do. The likes of Fallout, TES, and Dragon Age. Because once you beat the games, there isn’t much to do. For the new games: more quests, more choices, more monsters, more to explore!
I have a question I have a second disc for fable 2 filled with concept art and that stuff does anyone know how valuable it is with fable 2 it for the artwork of the disc is the I think evil side of the boxart
If you have the Limited Edition, I found that it sells for $121 CAD on Amazon. Given that you want to just sell the concept art disc I’d say $50-70 is reasonable.
Yeah, Fable III is okay. But have you ever emersed yourself in Fable II. I'm loving the concepts and very upset that the Sirens never made the cut! 🥺 It would definitely be more fun to have Banshee's, Siren's, (and even Wraiths) in Oakvale/Wraithmarsh instead of silly ole Hollow men. 😔 However, the DLC is pretty great and this was my childhood game, I could never not play it when I had a stressful day. I love this game and will always hold a special place in my heart! 😊💜
It's been cool to have different forms of all the other creatures like ballerines and all that just randomly have a magic bell ring shooting orb of magic at you out of nowhere where does he come from? Or have another version of Hobbs have some trolls
It'd would have added even more variation. I always found Balverines to be extremely annoying to fight. If they had a mage variation, I think it would have made them a little more interesting
there’s a small island in fable 3 I can’t name but it’s a whole sidequest where you kill all the hobbes on the island so they can build a small commune.
Idk if you knew this but I talked to one of the devs a few years back, and he said the ending was supposed to be you fought your way up the spire while lucien was corrupting it or something and u were supossed to get to the top and fight him and kick him off or something, but they ran out of time and made it a joke instead.
10:28 Historicly bows are used while theres were muskets because flintlocks were slower & actully bows are cheep light & fast & you could collect your arrows & they are silent weapons untile the late 1600 s for some reason
I'm still working on video length, but if the information isn't there, I can't drag it out and still have it be entertaining. The theories are still great for expanding the video length still :)
I believe the best arena was in Fable one mainly because in Fable 2 you had to use your gun or some kind of ranged attack I don't like being forced to use a specific attack to be able to do something
I prefer the more wolf like balveries in the concept art to the classic fable ones. The classical balverine looks like a mangey ghoul vs the concepts ferocious wolf like beasts.
Fable is a beautiful mess The art work is S grade The in game graphics are S grade (unique designs and love how literally everything has no straight lines) it gives a very real authentic look and at the same time it’s so story book illustrated. The potential of Fable is what makes it far more intriguing to people who enjoyed playing Fable and Fable II
I'd say I completely agree. The main issue with Fable 2 was that it is a fantastic game but it could have been even greater. Time restraints really do get in the way of greatness.
Well, according to the Book "Edge of the World", the Hero of Brightwall *did* marry before he traveled to Samarkand but I don't think his Wife was pregnant in the Story.
I would’ve taken deep wood over wraith marsh hands down, I understand that wraith marsh is home to oakvale which the devs wanted to take us to for nostalgia reasons. In my opinion though, deep wood makes more sense when you consider that the entire main story revolves around the activation and rebuilding of an old kingdom artifact, deep wood feels like it could have been much more relevant to the story.

Agreed🗣
The hooded statues in the old kingdom tombs always reminded me of the “dark guardian” statues that come to life for the crawler in Fable III
Nice spot. Maybe some connection there? Who knows...
i noticed that too , i would always expect them to come alive and attack lol

You know I can’t help but wonder how this franchise would be if peter did not hype up each one as the second coming of Christ and actually communicated with his team to see if that is possible before he promises something
I feel like it's not just the limitations of the team, but rather, the limitations on the time they have to get the game out
That's why, typically, after you get a new game, they release patches and updates almost a month or so after
He is the king of lies for a reason
The "evil mermaids" in those Driftwood notes in Fable 3 were actually female castaways screaming for help.
