the part with the demon door at the bottom is. the upper castle not so much, just creepingly empty... in fable 1 it had those blue rocks that really give it a blessed and holy kind of vibe, so no curse there. those rock formations make me feel so nostalgic. They remind me of something from the Disneys Lion King movie that I can't exactly put my finger on what it is.
Love that I’m replaying a game 10+ years old and there’s still new content being made about it 💕 Just finished the main storyline in Fable 2, just trying to buy the castle.
Ransom thought: it was Theresa. She ultimately wanted the spire though we dont know for how long she had been working towards that end. She used the alchemist to acquire knowledge and texts, then killed him. The count was used to gather info on the remaining heroes and kill anyone who knew of them so she could find them when the time was right. By the time Lucien got there, he had all the resources he needed, except motivation. So his family died and he conveniently discovered texts on the old kingdom spire, the heroes, and the wish. After that, Logan had to be replaced, as he was no hero and couldn't hope to defeat the darkness. It all fits pretty ni ely if you ask me.
actually the alchemist fell to his own potion. the gender changing one. he drank it and afterwards he was not allowed to return as he well now she wasn't recognized. went mad and died elsewhere. though that could be due to Jack of Blades who made the original deal with Lady Grey well before Theresa started manipulating the scenes.
I can't say it for sure, but a curse enduring for centuries over a damned soil with so much history and tragedy doesn't sound ludicrous. I'd definitely dig it.
Great video! I didnt know some of the details regarding the owners of the castle (like the count). the only thing that i think you forgot to mention was that the lone tower of the castle (where lucien had his study) Was inacessible during the rule of the hero of brightwall (if i remember correclty it was because part of the bridge collapsed and the old king never repaired it.... maybe because of what happenend in that tower when he was a kid?). Keep going with the good work, you're doing great!
@@Skyrionn I think the Queen of Blades is the main villain and Theresa is simply obsessed with stopping her return and will manipulate every event and use every Hero as a pawn in her struggle. It’s confirmed that Theresa had a hand in Lucien’s family’s death and his learning of the Spire and served as his guide like she guided Sparrow just so the Spire would be built and fall into her hands. Not a villain, but simply an amazingly written character.

I'm sorry I'm late Skyrionn! I'm here now and loving the video! I just wish the new Fable will come out already. I was sad they had let such a good series stop when it was so good. It had some bad guidance where it was heading but I'm hoping they'll bring back the 1 to 3 style
First off I'm loving these Lore/Theory videos. Near the end you mentioned Psychopaths and emotions. The definition of a Psychopath is someone that cannot show emotion. Not all are "crazy". The "-Path" you're thinking of is a Sociopath.
I don’t think Lady Gray cursed the land. I think she was evil and possibly a witch, but I don’t think she cursed it. Lio Head likely died from the potion that made him a woman. The only reason Sparrow survived is they’re a hero from the strongest bloodline and have strengths Lio likely wouldn’t have. I think if there is a curse it was done by The Count. I mean, he’s called “The Count” that already makes him suspicious. He likely did heinous experiments that left a curse, intentionally or unintentionally. Now I think it could be cursed but I think there are other factors to consider once Sparrow moves in. While Theresa and Scythe are immortal, the rest of the Archon’s line weren’t. They died of old age, or were murdered, but probably had long lifespans. We know the Hero of Oakvale died, and I doubt he succumbed to illness or was murdered, he was too powerful. And magic was becoming progressively weaker in the bloodline. The Sparrow and their child had to have it awakened in them. This leads me to believe Sparrow likely died of old age from decades as ruler weighing on them. Logan never had his powers awoken and had been scarred by the Darkness leading to his madness. I don’t believe a curse had made him mad. The Fairfaxes could have been cursed, either by what The Count had done, or by external forces. Part of me hates to say it, but Theresa may have had a hand in it. Regardless, I don’t think Gray was the one responsible. I’m not discounting the possibility of a curse, just sharing the other possibilities and rationalizations.
Thinking about it..the count could have done something to it. Or Theresa since in the game she does seem like someone to manipulate people for what she sees as the betterment or albion
My question is how come the hero of oakvale died of old age when he was obviously stronger than even jack of blades that had the sword of aeons and received power from both his mother and Theresa
@@Z03155 it would depend on the ending. If the Hero took the Sword of Aeons and/or wore Jack’s Mask, he likely would be immortal. But if he did the good choices, which I believe is canon, he was just a man, a mortal man. Powerful, but not immortal. Will/Scythe spent decades with the Sword of Aeons likely giving him immortality (or perhaps some other means not recorded) and given his magical prowess, he likely had extended lifespan already. Something has to give immortality, or it has to be taken by some means. The Sword of Aeons and possibly Jack’s Mask are such objects. Theresa had roughly 600 years worth of adventures. She traveled far and wide in her youth. Likely having an extended lifespan from her bloodline, she found a means of gaining immortality before she got too old and frail. Unfortunately, we can’t be sure. It’s all theoretical. We don’t know how long magic can extend life, or how diminished it became by the time the Hero of Bowerstone rose up. All we know is Theresa appears old, but didn’t show any sign of aging between 2-3 which had decades between them. And she certainly didn’t look like she was 100 let alone almost 700.
I have an unrelated question. Lucien moved into the spire but where did he live? In that central tower area? All we see behind that white light is that little chamber but did he include other rooms or maybe some kinda vertical castle?
I know I probably said this before but I think many would appreciate it if you added lore from the books. They are canon. If you don't want to read them you could just read summaries.
I was always curious of the origin of the Cemetery Mansion in Bowerstone Cemetery in Fable 2. I wondered if that was once The Grey's home from Fable TLC/Anniversary? Where Lady Grey's sisters' remains were. That & whatever happened to the Bordello from FABLE 1? did it eventually become part of Bloodstone in FABLE 2? Seeing that those streets are filled with prostitutes. Possibly 2 future videos to consider elaborations on.
Personally I don't by that Lady Gray was a witch. There is nothing to suggest that she has any magical abilities, knowledge of alchemy, or anything else that would suggest that at all. Admittedly it may be a retcon since a lot of the information we get about her, and her fate seems to contradict all possible outcomes, and information in FTLC. However the castle may still be cursed. In many fantasy stories large quantities of malice alone is often enough to curse a place, or object. We know for a fact that Lady Gray was an incredibly malicious individual and that her canonical death as revealed in 2 was an incredibly violent one. These things combined with any other tragedy that may have occurred there over the centuries may have cursed the castle in a way. However I personally believe that if there is a curse of some kind Teresa was most likely involved somehow. She has repeatedly done some pretty shaddy things, and the manipulation of the late Lady Gray's lingering malice into a curse on the castle is something I wouldn't put past her. While there isn't any actual proof of that it's just something I could see actually being canon since Teresa is definitely just that kind of terrible person she's just slightly better at pretending otherwise than Lady Gray was.
Fable what a waste of a legendary type of game, they just let it die with no remorse, wheres the magic adventure and allure of dark fantasy gone its all spacey boring star wars shit these days :((((
Don’t know if you’re aware, but Playground Games is working on a reboot of Fable. And as far as I’m concerned, they’ll be doing it out of love and care like Lionhead Studios did a decade ago
I've known it was cursed ever since I played Fable 2 back in the day. Finished the game, bought it, moved my family in and one time I came home, I couldn't find any of them. After a while I realised I could hear them whining and complaining from behind the walls. Definitely cursed yup! Also as a video idea; Theresa's manipulation. I know you already did a lore video on her, but knowing what she can do, a lot of questions and theories pop up about where she could have had a hand in things that aren't documented. When you think about it, Theresa could be the person behind the curtain of a huge web of events that don't immediately seem connected to reach her end vision for the world. I'm just curious where your mind would go if you went down the rabbit whole of possibilities that opens.
I was annoyed lady grey had you buy another house instead of using the manner and the bed wasn't usable if you married her. I thought the magic stones inside would have had important relevance but I guess not. The demon door in fable 2 in the castle talks about jack of blades trying to open it which confuses me since it was built after his defeat, maybe its a hint his book is canon and he is still wandering around discreetly or the demon door was moved there.
I believe that demon doors aren't specifically locked to one specific location like maybe that demon door that was at the castle was not always located at the castle
Well the herobriston was in his thirties when he left the spire and if the hero of bowertone chosen to give up the seal to the the shadow Court he will age to the 60s I believe and 50 years have passed and I don't think it was a recent death so yeah hear about bowerstone was really old when he he or she died
My thought process was that Heroes seem to live a long lifespan based on what we've seen from Theresa and Scythe, although their will abilites may have prolonged their life. I just thought it was curious how their death wasn't explained.
I don’t agree that the Castle is haunted at all. First, if Elvira could curse lands, why would she curse her own house and not Bowerstone as a whole? Second, Leo Head and The Count sound purely circumstancal, nothing indicates there was anything untoward with them. Third, I would attribute Lucien’s family to Theresa as part of her master plan to get the Spire’s power, but even outside of that, nothing suggests their deaths were atypical. I just don’t like there’s much going for this as opposed to every family that owned Harrenhal Castle going extinct, for example. It does just seem to be a castle.
not sure how you'd gauge the skill competitively, maybe by who can most consistently land counters, as the extra targeting stuff is essentially autoaim
Is the castle cursed?
Yeah Lady Grey probably cursed her mansion at her execution. Seems in character for her.
The 5 minute walk to the bed in fable 2 certainly is cursed.
She did have those strange stones in her mansion so I would guess so
Is there any news on the next fable?
