Magic in Albion has always been esoteric. Avo and Skorm were born from energies of light and darkness. There are clearly founts of magic everywhere in this world. Where it comes from, we don’t know. I think it’s obvious the darkness is connected to the Void perhaps there is another realm where the light comes from. Like Aetherius in TES. Perhaps it’s like the Force in Star Wars, Will has 2 forms, light and dark, and there are places strong with one or the other. And certain people are drawn there for one reason or another. The Temples of Avo and Skorm were just early forms of this. Magic took on an identity for a time and went on to simply be worshiped by their energies alone, speaking to ones who are more in tune with them. The voices people hear is the magic itself not any singular being.
It just doesn't make sense that skorm was fake, the voice that speaks to you speaks in the first person, not third it isn't some conglomerance of energy it is a being, one that produces the strongest weapon found in both tlc and anniversary
I’ve always thought that Albert the Luminous was from the original Cult of Shadows, and created the Temple of Light as a way to repent of his past. Think about it. The original temples of Avo and Skorm were huge distances away from one another as they were competing faiths, but the Temples of Light and Shadow are just a loading screen away from each other? That just strikes me as odd, because how did two places of such radically different intentions grow? That might be reaching for straws, I admit, but then take into account what Oakfield was like before Albert found the acorn. It was bleak, depressing and not the town we know now. What might the main reason for this be? My guess would be that the original Cult of Shadows would kidnap Oakfield farmers to sacrifice to the shadows, which kept the people in a state of fear, so what then changed? The shadows rose up with the Malestrom and slaughtered the entire cult which, as Skyrionn points out, makes little sense that people know of if there were no survivors. And then there’s Albert himself. Why was he so depressed to the point of wishing to kill himself? If he were so naturally righteous and virtuous, why would he want to do that? That’s not impossible. I suppose, but more than that, why did he go to Oakfield to do it if he was born and lived in Bowerstone? Why travel across the country just to find another place to die? My theory is that because of Albert’s actions, all his friends in the original cult were slaughtered and he alone escaped into Oakfield and, overwhelmed with guilt, found a nearby cave to hide inside and end his live, whether out of penance or whether to see his friends again, but something happened that Albert did not intend, as the Wellspring Cave was a place of deep Will power such as the original temples of Avo and Skorm, which reacts accordingly to who enters it, which is why the Hero of Bowerstone and Hammer found hollow men to fight, as they sought battle. But Albert, who sought some form of forgiveness and repentance for what he had done, found something else. He found the Light give him the acorn and a new purpose, to bring light and life to Oakfield and a lifetime of clerical repentance for what he had done as a member of the Cult of Shadows. And thus, he constructed the myth of “Albert the Luminous,” founded the Temple of Light and with his new community, put the ways of his past behind him, while spreading news of what befell those who worshipped the shadows for, being one of great wisdom, he told people exactly what happened to the original cult of shadows…with some details omitted, of course.

Yes! I love this theory! What if there are more will users that nobody knows about and the game doesn't tell you! I wholly believe that. Albert manifested will abilities in the form of foresight, like Theresa, and saw a bright future if he were to stay alive. I like this idea much more than an entity of evil or good that watches over the world. Plus, not actually knowing what is true at all is even better than any theory.
@@smocloud i like to think that's true, but I hope fable 4 doesn't make will users a common thing. I like how scarce the games are in terms of will users and straight up explanations for things.
@@Auronjecht considering that untapped potential in the bloodline is something that has to be tapped into by an external source as far back as fable 1 (your sister and mother both unlock untapped potential in your character in the first game) and fable 2 and 3 has that untapped potential be tapped by coming into contact with the guild seal, I’d say it’s safe to bet that fable 4 won’t be full of will users, especially when you couple all that with the fact that people have been growing distrustful of anyone with will abilities for centuries, having burned the heroes guild to the ground. I can also see them destroying all the guild seals in the world (in the beginning of fable 3 Walter remarks how all the cullis gates have been destroyed save for two, the one in the caves under the castle and the other being in that frozen village in the mountains). So likelihood is our fable 4 character will grow up half their childhood thinking they’re a normal boring kid, until they get a Batman origin story, fall in a cave and discover a guild seal buried and forgotten, your sibling (because you have one in every single fable game ever) will remark how they thought all the guild seals were destroyed then they’ll try to stop you picking it up but won’t and BOOM turns out you’re a hero and never would have known had you not touched the guild seal, but oh no your sibling touched it in their attempt to stop you so they’ve also awoken to will powers, and they become diametrically opposed to you over time. You play the evil hero? They grow up afraid of you and afraid of your power, but knowing full well only they have the power to stop you. You play the good hero? They grow up in your shadow, envious of all the praise and attention you get for your “good deeds” and justifying their hatred by believing you’re putting on a grand act, that deep down what you really wanna do is whatever the hell you wanna do, just like them, as their heart has become corrupted by their power and mind poisoned by envy. I’d prefer that at least to just having it be your parents were heroes and you get given a guild seal when your sibling becomes a tyrant. I’m actually a fan of this trope no matter how much of a stereotype it may be, I think there’s still a lot of ways it can be done. That’s my hope for Fable 4. Speaking of siblings, what if Logan had come in contact with that guild seal before us in fable 3? In theory he would have unlocked the power to use will because of his bloodline, same as us. But because he didn’t, he lived and died a normal man, the secret powers of the bloodline forever remaining untapped in him. The main question I think we need to ask is what will Theresa’s role be in Fable 4? She can influence the events of the entire world. You could say that it’s because of her that Logan was never allowed to make contact with the guild seal to discover his untapped will, and she would’ve had a vested interest in seeing things play out that way. But if there is no Theresa in Fable 4, who knows? I personally think that there’s more they could do without her than with her. Because she has such a big role in the games by the end of fable 2, everything that happens in the world has to somehow be justifiable within her character. Logan didn’t just become a tyrant, which is believable enough. No, she manipulated that and because of that a justification for her manipulation needed to be provided, when it would have been enough to just have Logan be a tyrant just cause that’s who he is. In fact, that would have been more believable, in my opinion. The problem with her role being so large scale is people end up going “yeah. But why?” Such as “yeah, but why didn’t you just tell Logan the truth and allow his will potential to be untapped, and then guide him down a proper path the way she supposedly does for us?” This would have allowed for much more time for the kingdom to prepare for the threat of the Darkness that we only had a year to prepare for (theoretically they would have had all the time Logan spent as king, however long that may have been, which is undisputedly longer than a meager year) and it would have allowed Logan more time to personally prepare and become strong enough to face the threat as a hero, longer time, again, than our character had. You can always say his potential for will was lower than ours and that’s fine because the way blood would dilute even between siblings is different. In which case I say sure Logan would have been a weaker hero than us, but wouldn’t two heroes stand a better chance than one? Would it not have been a more secure way to defend against the darkness, to prepare two heroes to fight side by side against the threat, rather than just robbing one of them of the option to be a hero and the other of the option of working with their sibling who has more militaristic experience than them?

The Darkness Incarnate mission takes you through a dark hole, perhaps the final part of the Temple of Shadows. In Fable, the Temple of Shadows was shrouded in darkness, posing a threat to those nearby. Below this mission lies the Unknown Shore on the Auroran continent, resembling Fable 2's appearance but darker. This location may hold the key, as the Temple of Shadows was profoundly evil, offering power in exchange. In Fable 2, Avo grants experience points similar to how the Temple of Shadows rewards for leading people astray. Enjoy listening to elder Scrolls lore, lord of the rings and fable lore. Also light for me.
I'm glad you like them!
However what about the rebuilt (again) temple in Fable 3?
The Darkness Incarnate mission takes you through a dark hole, perhaps the final part of the Temple of Shadows. In Fable, the Temple of Shadows was shrouded in darkness, posing a threat to those nearby.
Below this mission lies the Unknown Shore on the Auroran continent, resembling Fable 2's appearance but darker. This location may hold the key, as the Temple of Shadows was profoundly evil, offering power in exchange.
In Fable 2, Avo grants experience points similar to how the Temple of Shadows rewards for leading people astray.
The Wheel of Misfortune's use in turning people into ghosts parallels Darkness Incarnate, where children became ghosts.
I sure is it Temple of Shadows because the one thing
they become smarter as it not nearby the town the crawer knows something we don`t know
ghost can live forever vs a human body can handle
Something I have been wondering about; I remember years ago reading something along the lines of jack when he possesses someone he acquires abit of their personality
I don’t remember where I read this but is it true or just implied
Wait hammer is not actually the abbot daughter
I can't say I have heard of that one. As far as I am aware, the mask holds his soul and whoever is tricked in to wearing it becomes possessed by him.
Also yeah, she is the adoptive daughter.
@@Skyrionn ah perhaps I misremembered
And about the dogs I have never understood how dispite the fact dogs are extinct how is one in 2 and then breed for another one in 3 I could buy if both answers are magic but unsure how else to explain, and how exactly do the potions containing the essence of breeds of dogs actually works
Regarding the hammer point I wish these games were not so insanely vague at times
13:57 "He came up with that story (all the members of the original group were murdered) to attract new members" He's not very good at marketing hnsndhfhsf anyway Interesting theory! Seems plausible to me
There is a will user waiting to enter the crucible in fable 2
I knew I had missed one!
Deities
Day-it-ease
for me, fable was a horror game. Which is why fable 3 peaked at discovering aurora and from there its just downhill
How long do you think it took for Sparrow to grow up when you first start up the game when he's a kid and then he's an adult how long do you think it took between that time like how many years and days you don't have to answer this question I was just curious
I personally think the light and shadow are real and predate there temples god of the light god of the shadow . That’s avo and skorm are real gods but only the names were made up. That each hero of light and hero of dark are touched by these gods and forces. But I think also they are less gods and more primordial Forces the old gods are more traditional deity’s .where these are more forces. So when they pray to avo and skorm they are praying to the same forces as fable 2
First for everything
Congrats!
Didn't they stop referring to gods with actual names because the devs got death threats from religious people
Can't say I have heard of that- but I could be a reason I guess
