Is there an adjustment that can be made to make the rear latches on the deck connect easier? I have a 2022 1025R with the 54D Auto Connect and it's nearly impossible for me to get the rear hooks attached. I have to yank on the deck with all I got to pull it far enough back to get it to latch. It has never latched on its own when driving over it.
@@WesternEquipment I have tried it in multiple surfaces. Grass, concrete, rubber mats, etc. I did lower the leveling eyebolt and it helped attaching the deck slightly, but I am still getting a loud creaking noise when raising and lowering the deck.
Exactly what I am buying next week! I've done the research extensively and my choice is based on my new needs AND prior JD ownership for over 30 years! Capabilities and features can't be matched in my book!
You are very right! Thank you for the catch, this video was shot on a day that was 110+ degrees and this was also our first How-To so we are trying to improve as we go. Thanks for watching!
I thought I wanted a Kubota with belly mower but JD has it right with the auto connect feature. The last thing I want to do is wrestle with installing deck if it can be done so easy on a Deere.
This is a good question haha. This was one of the very first videos I did and i am not sure what height I had it set on or if it got changed. I wish I could give you a better answer but thanks for watching!
Hmmmmm... There could be multiple things going on here. I would recommend having your nearest dealer taking a look to make sure all is good. Thanks for watching!
Can the mower be used with a backhoe installed? I have a 2.5 acre back field I keep mowed with a x390 48" but I'd like to get a 60 inch deck for the 1025 if i could do so without having to remove the backhoe that I use regularly.
Yes you can! You will have to specify when you order the deck that you will need either the hydraulic lift or the electric lift for the deck. The manual lift will not work here because it uses the rockshaft for the three point arms. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
I have recently purchased a 1025r with 60 in mower deck when I removed it was simple but now I can't get it to reinstall the rear pins doesn't go forward enough for the locking lever to lock in what is the problem??????????????????????
I can never get my mower OFF the tractor. Putting it on is no problem. I have to pound on that silver flip lock thing under neath and pry with a 2 by 4 on each side at the same time to get the mower lose. It takes 3 people. I have adjusted those front nuts all the way out on that front hook up thing (what ever it is called). and the latch underneath is still a bear to unlatch. What is causing this? I am confident the rear lugs and the front ones are not causing the bind up. Its driving me nuts. The John Deere dealer installed this, by the way.
This is true. Before you take off you should raise your mower deck up, choose your cutting height, and then you shouldn't have any problems moving between heights.
I hate to hear that. There may be something out of adjustment. Sometimes the lower PTO coupler gets out of whack and that makes reinstalling not very easy. Have you had it looked at?
On this particular model you would use the cut of height knob that I show at the very beginning of the video. Once the deck is installed and raised all the way up, you can adjust that knob to your desired height and then set the deck back down. On this particular model we would use the 3-point lift to raise and lower the deck. There is also an option for hydraulic lift and lower that would run off of your loader joystick.
@@WesternEquipment I have a welded 60" deck for the 1025R from 2013 I'd like to sell. I don't use it. Any idea where to advertise it? I'm in Northern Indiana.
@@WesternEquipment thanks for response the sales man that was a head mechanic for many years came out on the weekend and fixed it . John Deer customer service was above and beyond.
@@martybeaudry5747 there is an auto connect pto drive which is part of the lift assembly. Simply drive on the deck, make sure the pins are engaged correctly and lift the deck. Adjust the cutting height, set the gauge wheels, and you are off mowing.

Check your lift-link adjustment. Tractor Time with Tim has a good MMM deck-adjustment video.

Nice! Let me know how well you like it. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
I have a deck for sale 60" in Northern Indiana
How much is this mower deck by itself? I cant find it online.
You didn’t show them that you need to put the deck on the ground by pulling each deck wheel lever.
You are very right! Thank you for the catch, this video was shot on a day that was 110+ degrees and this was also our first How-To so we are trying to improve as we go. Thanks for watching!
Don't forget to reset your height of cut so you're not mowing very low and show how you set your wheels. Sorry to hear about the heat.

The AutoConnect system is definitely the way to go!
@@WesternEquipment Definitely. I completely made up my mind now on a 3046R cab with mid mount mower.
Interesting, I have to flip the little levers on both sides of the deck to remove my mower
That is interesting, what year model is your tractor?
@@WesternEquipment It’s either a 20 or a 21 I just got it in December
I do too and I can't get the damn thing back on.
Did not mention to release wheels on deck.
Great catch! I definitely missed that part and it is crucial!!
You never adjusted the cutting height after installing the deck. Did you leave it on the install setting?
This is a good question haha. This was one of the very first videos I did and i am not sure what height I had it set on or if it got changed. I wish I could give you a better answer but thanks for watching!
how do you lower and raise the deck with the pto never ben able to do that on mine
Haha I definitely misspoke here. What I meant was you can lower and raise the deck with the three-point lever.
You didn’t unlock the wheels on the deck? Also need to be in 4 wheel drive
Good catch, that was a critical step that I missed and yes you definitely want to be in 4WD. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
Is that 3 point hitch to low in the back ?
Yes, I shouldn't have had the quick hitch on for this video but it still worked as it was supposed to. Thanks for watching!
Wow, that looks super easy! I've tried to remove/install the similar Kubota deck and it's much less convenient.
Exactly! Thanks for the comment!
I am having issues with the Rockshaft lever control raising and lowering the deck after it is installed. I have tried the PTO in different positions.

Are you on a completely level surface? sometimes if it is unlevel you will have problems getting the deck reinstalled.

Are you releasing your anti scalping wheels and setting your mower height on zero and setting the deck all the way on the ground on a flat surface?
You were still in INSTALL when you took off to mow. I can't get my dial to move from Install to H-M-L.
This is true. Before you take off you should raise your mower deck up, choose your cutting height, and then you shouldn't have any problems moving between heights.
No mention of the deck wheels! No adjustment of the mower deck height!
My apologies! Hopefully I will get to do an update on this video soon. Thanks for watching!

I have been trying to connect my mower back on my 1025 but the connector on tractor seems to be pointing straight up
Sounds like I would have a local dealer look at this, unless you want to email me some pics to brent@west-equip.com and I can see if I can help!

home much does all of that cost?
This really depends on location and incentives that are currently going on. I would check with your local dealer for a quote. Thanks for watching!
What about the hydraulic hose?
This model has the mechanical lift that you raise with the three point, so there is no hydraulic connections for this deck.
no hose mid mount pto shaft

He didn't set the cutting height or set the gauge wheels. Scalping the hell out of that grass!
Very true. For this video we cut pretty low being as we were just around the pond on the farm.
