I'm the same, as soon as I made a conscious decision to stop watching or reading the news my anxiety felt 10x better and I'm so much happier. They make things seem even scarier than they are as that is what sells newspapers/ makes people click on stories.
As a psychologist, I can tell that what you do with writting called "positive coping mechanism" . We always advise to do art or hobbies during hard times, cause it is the best thing to helps to cope with stress
It's what I do I find painting or writing to be a stress reliever
Writing also generates repetative movements, it helps autistic people regulating but I'm sure it also helps neurotypicals. The rhytm of drawing, writing, running, music, walking, petting an animal etc makes you regulate the thoughts and impulses from outside which makes you calmer.
I love writing, because then I feel like I don't need to think about all the stuff that upsets me or anything like that anymore. I then have my thoughts elsewhere and don't need to have them in my mind all the time, if that makes sense 👀
Usually what happens when we are under stress is the body produces the stress hormones and our heart rate increases, our body feels tense, we don't relaxed and our thoughts are going around the cause of stress (quarantine, work etc.) When we do something "what we like", our enjoyable activities, could be writing, drawing, reading, gardening etc., we literally take a break from those thoughts and stress, which helps our body to recharge.
Hey taz, The one from the watercolours is a waterbrush, it’s suppused to be filled with water

oh nooo Taz you didn't do the water filter properly. You gotta soak the filter in water for 2 mins. Then take that water out. Place the filter in properly and add water as normal. Take that water out. Fill it with water again. Then remove water. Then finally the 3rd time you're able to drink clear waterrrr:) xx

I really appreciate when creaters share their lower moments. It really makes you more human when I know what really gets to you. I think it makes me more invested in your/their content.

Tips for you taz!
The brush has the section for water for travelling,
Spray your watercolour pallets down first with water to hydrate them,
Use a more textured or high GSM paper for using lots if water colour
Tape paper down so doesnt buckle,
Wet where your painting first for smoother, less patchy colour

I'm so proud of her hope she and her family are ok during this pandemic
My mum got diagnosed with corona and we were in quarantine for two weeks, then my sister got it and we had to stay in quarantine for 2 more weeks, everyone is fine again. My dad and I luckily didn’t get infected and we are all able to go out again but I have to say that we all should be more thankful for what we have and for being able to live freely and go out. I hope that everyone who reads this is healthy because I don’t want anyone to feel the way my mum felt( my sister is young she didn’t have any strong symptoms)I was so scared for her she has never been feeling so bad as she was 2 weeks ago and I honestly even cried sometimes when I was alone in my room. In front of her I acted strong because I didn’t want to make her feel bad or anything because while she was sick I did the household( clean, cook etc.) and she already felt bad because I had to do everything by myself but I did it with love on the other hand I gotta be honest I was mentally and physically tired, I’m 17 and managing a whole household on your own and also worrying about your mom, that was just too much for me... so I really hope that no one has to experience the same thing. Please stay safe everyone and I hope that soon this whole nightmare will end.

When you put in a new Brita filter, you need to fill it and throw away the first batch of water to clean the filter for first use - that’s why it was so bitter!

i can totally relate when you say you write when things feel overwhelming. I didn't realize I've been doing that so soo long now. I do it in a more intentional way recently, I try to actually write when things are confusing to me, it helps me understand the situation better and also makes me think of how others may be feeling. Totally with you on the feeling a lot of things and not knowing what to do or how to deal with them! My partner just ended our relationship a few days ago - we rent a house together and I have NO friends or family in England (they're all in Wales) and can't afford to live by myself so I am feeling ALL the things and lockdown isn't helping! Writing things down has definitely been helping me to cope when I've been crying and feeling alone. It's such a good thing to let out all the emotions! It's a crappy, anxious time all round right now but we can all get through this! stay positive lady! Xx

Everything you do and say in this video is scarily relatable except I'm not currently at a great place in life because I've moved back into my parents' house. Fully agree with the emotions thing. I've not seen my family in 6 and half weeks, live alone in a flat so completely relate to your situation Taz. I have cried at least twice through news and missing family etc. Mentally it is draining to keep busy and motivated day by day but know it is for the greater good. I look forward to the day I can see my family again, certainly going to be overwhelmed with emotion. If anyone is in this lockdown in isolation by themselves just know you are not alone!

I am also isolating alone and your videos have been accompaning me throughout that time. I can relate to most of your point. I also started doing more creative stuff, I built a bed, I wrote some songs and poetry. I think the lowest point was my birthday and the holidays, but I mostly enjoy being alone and not feeling like you anyone anything. it has been quite liberating even though it doesnt really feel like that most of the time.
and also, your art looks really amazing!
