- Nigerians Struggle to Buy Petrol As Fuel Shortage Hits Nation | Firstpost America
The largest oil producer in Africa, Nigeria, is facing an acute fuel crisis. Several cities have been grappling with petrol shortages, with residents forced to queue up for hours to fill the tanks of their vehicles. Retailers say Nigeria's state-run oil company is responsible for the supply challenge. However, the company last week said that it faced a logistics problem that has been resolved. The oil supplier further added that it has sufficient fuel and urged Nigerians to avoid panic buying. The fuel crisis comes almost a year after President Bola Tinubu removed subsidies on fuel in the country. This sparked massive protests, with labour unions demanding higher minimum wages amid rising costs of living. Watch this video for more details.

This is what the world will look like as we head towards net zero..
Don't allow your crude oil to leave the country to India.you can turn your crude oil to gasoline in your country for your people to benefit.
Not that easy, amazingly expensive especially at the scale you are talking about. This is just pure greed by a minority who make billions on the import export deficit and I am not talking about the colonial devils.
This situation reminds me of Venezuela.
It's nothing like Venezuela. This story is overhyped. It's just a logistics issue. By next week the fuel shortage will be over.
Now that is a joke.Nigeria produces this fuel. Some chief is conning locals.
Nigeria is not running out of fuel. We are about to transition from importation to local production as several refineries are about to start pumping fuel, so marketers are cautious of buying expensive imported fuel in order not to suffer loss.
Old lies.
@@anyanwu6233 You are a shameless fellow. You derive pleasure in badmouthing your own country. You are not smart enough to know that you will be treated out there based on how you represent your country to outsiders.
I thought Dangote’s refinery is fully operational as well as many other refineries in Nigeria 🇳🇬 Someone is doing some mischief.
What other refineries are you talking about? Name them please.
@@tmack347 My friend, here is a simple quotation from Google. "There are four major oil refineries in Nigeria. Two are found in Harcourt port and one each in Warri and Kaduna. Oil reserves are mainly found in the Niger delta region. Most of these oil reserves are under the control of foreign corporations.." Now here is my common sense. "Nigerians are very ingenious people. If you go to the Niger Delta you will find cartels that refine crude oil products using make shift apparatus. Most of these crude oil products are sold on the black market all over West Africa. You can buy gasoline in bottles or in plastic containers. That is a whole economy on its own that cannot be quantified. "
Im a Nigerian, and i can confidently say this scarcity is artificial and its based on the fact that they want to increase price per litre
The trouble is leadership that needs to be replaced
Isn’t Nigeria a crude oil rich nation ??
Ya neocolonism 😂
Putin and Wagner mercenaries control oils and gas markets in Africa nations
@@ShivamSingh-jv4fmplease dont talk out of your behind. nigeria did not invest in refining so it can only export crude oil & needs to import petroleum. please go read up
@@Kevin-fq3zh you going research because they do have refining companies like dangote oil refinary
@@Kevin-fq3zhthey have refineries now
They will not run out of fuel. They use to have more. Where the fuel go?
No problem, China is going to send electric cars to everyone and for free. 5 cars per family and for free
And they are not allowed to drive those.
Please I want to be a beneficiary of those electric vehicles.
Money and corruption
Are any of the state owned oil refineries producing any petrol?
That is a shame, a secondary school student can turn crude oil into petroleum. And whatever happened to all those PhD? Nigerian parents bragg about, talking about their sons
SHAME ON US 😶🌫️.
I thought Tinubu will be better aburo. But he is the worst in the history of Nigeria.
@AyomipoFasoranti _Shame on our evil leader's, Shame on the people in top Offices, not shame on us, why us?
When me or any of my family members are not holding any government office in Nigeria, please stop generalizing.
NO BE TODAY FUEL DON SCARCE FOR NIGERIA 🇳🇬 MAKE WE HEAR WORD AMERICA 🇺🇲 STILL UNA NO GO GIVE VISA
❤
The future of youths in nigeria looks so bad cuz of the way the colonial masters Britain structures the country, Hopefully the Biafrans leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu succeed with his mission🤝🤝✊✊🙏
You’re very dum
Importers don’t want to buy from outside because the country already set date for sales of local production
People should go back to riding horses. Poor people can ride a Buffalo cart on shared basis.

We are not running out fuel its seller are hoarding ut
In Nigeria 🇳🇬 we have crude oil 🛢 but export to Asia and Europe 🇬🇧 🇳🇱 later it's been sold to us what a shameful thing 😢
Very shamefully silly situation that makes us embarrassed to be considered African
@@tropical5491 Honestly i cry 😢 for Africa 🌍
Nigeria is not the largest producer of oil in Nigeria
Take care your own country ..stop blaming on eachother......
This country is not serious 😂😂😂Nigeria produce oil but mismanagement 😂😂😂😂its can naver happen in Ghana
Damn that’s a silly country, oil rich, yet poor due to stupidity, with a better potential Than Dubai, yet, so self defeating due to a mentality of selfish corruption . I have no incentive to even visit it . I prefer Botswana, Namibia, Ghana and some of the better run countries
Petroconomics Government.
They shipped too much oils to Europe. The government and CIA are to blame.
you are misinformed… nigeria can only produce crude oil. it does not have refining capacity so it will have to import petroleum. corruption is the root cause
no, it’s the chinese mafia controlling nigeria’s oil industry & holding the entire country ransom
😂😂😂😂
Ughgh send delegation to moscow to discuss the deal buy from russia they have lot to sell
But if you lick US boots sorry recession and inflation is something you have chosen
Welcome
Gbam!!
Good idea because Russia is really needing to sell refined products as India nor China want anything other than crude to support their own refining capacity- good luck with the sanctions
Shit whole country.. Biafra all the way
