Illicit trade with China is fuelling insurgency in the African nation of Mozambique. Smuggling of timber from Mozambique to China, estimated to be worth $23 million a year, is helping fund the Islamist insurgency Cabo Delgado in the north of the country. Insurgent controlled areas of Mozambique have been a breeding ground for illegal trade and for criminal gangs. Mozambique was reportedly China's top African supplier of rosewood in 2023, providing 20,000 tonnes worth $11.7 million. Last week, at least 100 insurgents launched an attack in Cabo Delgado's Macomia. There has been an increase in insurgent attacks in Mozambique since January. Watch this video for details.

Correct. Now communist Chinese neo-Imperialists are replacing the Western colonial era. This is especially true in Asia where the communist Chinese basically meddle in the internal affairs of all smaller countries. Especially those who are not socialist.
India needs to put more energy into toning down anti Chinese retoric and try and calm the India China relationship. Otherwise India will be sidelined as the China Russia relationship strengthens.
@fastpistonx, why would India "tone down their rhetoric" when the communist party of China is actively threatening India with war as well as the fact that the communist Chinese are working to subvert India's government. There is a reason that Indian defense minister Rajnath Singh maintains the fact that China is the main security threat that India faces while foreign minister S Jaishankar has repeatedly reminded the communist Chinese that normal relations are not possible while the border crisis persists.
