Hope it’s holding up well, just picked my Reverse Panda up 4 days ago and I am enamoured 😍 running +3 seconds a day out of the box, love the exposure of the escapement through the display back and the column wheel thunk on that initial engagement 😬
I wanted something different and the reverse panda was it. GlassBox 39mm great size and great movement. Love the Carrera history. Anyone interested in this watch should look up the race and the history of the Carrera watches. Again, something different and have had some great conversations with other watches enthusiasts around this watch.
I'm the same, never liked TAG, but I'm fond of vintage Heuer, and this watch made me sit up and take notice of the current range and reappraise them. Most of their stuff still isn't for me, but the watches where they look back, they're absolutely gorgeous, especially this Glassbox which takes that classic formula and tastefully modernises it. If I weren't looking to purchase a Cartier I'd be at the AD haggling for one of these in the beautiful blue-purple hue.
This is a beautiful $4k to $5k watch. The depreciation kind of proves that. It's gorgeous and wouldn't think twice in that range. At 6 to 7 it creeps into Omega range, where it's a bit outclassed due to Omega reputation and heritage. Maybe this is the first watch that will change that image for TAG but that's how I feel at the moment.
Valid comments. The comparison to a Speedmaster Professional is something that no luxury chronograph can escape. The Carrera does have its own awesome heritage, but if you can get it preowned in the 4-5K it is an awesome deal. We'll see how TAG follows up!
@@erievon1 I totally agree with you both but would add that as a Heuer owner since 1969 (Baylor_Zales Jewlers store brand…Dan Henry’s site does the best job of laying out Heuers from the 50’s through the 70’s) Hand crankers with no date, no hacking. …it does have a World Timer bezel. Bought it new in 1969 in New Orleans) a bi-compax with a friction fit, bi-directional bezel AND…”WaterProof!” Old Heuers are the bees knees man! 😜
Nice review and you are right: it is a beautiful watch. I got the black (reverse panda) version, and it simply never bores. I really like the black perforated racing style strap, bit do agree a bracelet might be a nice option.
I wonder why they put the date window at 12 on the black version. So much better on the 6 IMO. Beautiful watch. Nice size. So nice to see a smaller Chrono. They nailed it.
I actually like it at twelve. It’s a look back to another 1960’s model that was the first Heuer chronograph with a date. I think it make the black and silver unique, also makes the lower register more visible since they didn’t have to cut a date window into it.
The test would be if this watch is enough to clean up Tag’s name with collectors. Unfortunately I don’t think so yet, but they’re on their way. A few more great releases like the glass box and a couple more years without a Mario kart release and true watch collectors might purchase their wathces again.
Hi Are you sure that the lug width is 22 mm? I believe it’s 20 mm which would also be more in line with a 39 mm case. Keep up the good work 🙋🏼♂️⏱️🙋🏼♂️
Great question! I did not have my calipers with my and the TAG site does not list the lug width, but Worn and Wound listed it as 22mm in their review: wornandwound.com/tag-heuer-reinvents-an-icon-with-the-carrera-chronograph-39mm-glassbox/ I agree that normally I would expect 20mm or slightly smaller on the lug width for this size, but it looks like they went larger for aesthetics. Thank you for the compliment :D
@@OntheWrist hi great review but it is 20mm. it can be paired with a bracelet from the caliber 5 Carrera bracelets which comes in 20mm. can try to compare with the older Carrera chronograph models which uses 22mm.
It's an excellent timepiece... Just got mine 3 weeks ago and what I like most is the simplicity and elegance.
Congrats! I bought the Reverse Panda a couple months back. Beauty.

@@sanduqpoultryfarm7086 I have the blue one with date @ 6:00. A tri-compax at 39 mm. And yaaayuus…..That thunk!
First TAG that I’ve drooled over
Tag Heuer is slowly restoring the brand image. Well Done with this release, it is beautiful piece.
Tag Heuer is on fire with the new realses
I am generally not a big Tag fan. This watch is an exception! Noce review of a cool watch!

Which Cartier are you looking at? I've had my eyes on a large Santos for a long time, but like you this one has me tempted.
@@OntheWrist actually it's a vintage model, a 29mm Galbée two tone with a burgundy dial, no date
Just looked that up, I love that dial color. Beautiful watch. I hope they bring that into this model too, I am a huge fan of reds/burgundy.
Definitely the best in the lineup thanks for presenting
I agree! Thank you for watching :D

@@BobMarley-pm1xb oh for sure, vintage Heuers are absolutely awesome, worth every penny.
Great video and beautiful watch. An another video with straps combination will be nice.Thank you sir for the review.
My pleasure! I do wonder if TAG will later release it on some other strap or a bracelet option.
Just bought the blue one. I really love it.
Any plans to get additional straps? Great watch, enjoy :D

Nice Review, any idea of royal will give discount on this watch?
I have this watch for about 3 months now…………..I know I’m going to have to wash my hand eventually but oh man…..do not want to take it off………..
TAG is a brand to buy on second hand because it depreciate sooooo much !!!

We'll see what they do at Watches and Wonders in 2024. I'm hopeful they continue on this trend and start putting out some really solid offerings.

Yeah a classy nice Piece…😎🇩🇪
I special ordered it , and when I got it, I loved it, a week later, my house go broken in, and they stole it 😢
Oh no, that is awful! I’m really sorry to hear that :( did you have it insured?
This maybe the best thing heuer has ever made instead of living off the Monaco and crappy quartz movements. Must be new blood at helm
It is an awesome new step for them. I’m hoping they put out a red dial version.
Lug width 20 mm no 22
beautiful, it's my favourite watch on the market. I prefer the black version thou.
The black version is quite sharp. I love how they have slightly different layouts.
I’m really hopeful they do a red dial release at somepoint
