@@osobad1127 Normally I'd defend quartz as there are many quartz watches that are definitely worth the money. But I've handled quite a few of those quartz TAGs. They are shitty.
I’ve been looking at this watch at the Tag boutique and I’ve watched every online video on it that is out there. One thing that Teddy’s channel doesn’t always get the credit it deserves is the quality of the video. The close up shots of the movement on this watch, and in particular the way the vertical clutch interacts with the chronograph minutes wheel, are simply fantastic. Well done, Teddy and team.
I've been wearing TAG Heuer watches for about 30 years. I currently own 5 and they are very well built and look great. I love the 40mm Aquaracer 200, the new Calibre 5 and this Glassbox chrono! Keep up the good work, TAG Heuer!
I like very much what Tag Heuer is doing these days. Haven't seen one of these in the metal yet and I would definitely like to compare the blue and black dial variants. I own a Monaco myself, but the Carrera also surely deserves a significant spot in the pantheon of legendary chronographs.
Tried this on a few weeks ago at the Tag boutique here in Singapore, it wears and looks perfect! I'm not a big fan of chronographs, but this stole my heart. It's modern yet looks classy and vintage, and it is built so well! Personally, I like the black dial option with the date window at the 12, which is something I've not seen before.
I've always been a fan of Tag, so I suppose I'm a bit biased, but I really like this watch. It's a lovely blend of the vintage Tag and a modern aesthetic (if you can call it that). Love it
27 yeast ago I bought my first watch a Tag Kirium, which I still have and wear. It still works perfectly. I have bought several other brands through the years, but when I saw this new release I had to get one. Went in for the blue came out with the reverse panda. Both beauty’s. Always been a fan of Tag Heuer. It’s the brand that got me loving watches.
I just bought this watch last week and couldn't be happier with it! Originally was looking at a speedy since I bought a Mcqueen Monaco last year and didn't want to look like a brand ambassador for Tag, but I had no good reason to not buy another timepiece from them and my gut told me to go with the Carrera.
Congratulations, I would have made the same decision. Never really been a fan of Omega, no particular reason. The speed master is one of those super popular watches I shy away from. The 160th anniversary Carrera and the latest Glassbox model look spectacular.
I've tried on the black-dial version twice now and I think it's just perfect (the blue struck me as pretty bland). As you said, it looks like they've finally figured out how to bridge their past and present. I agree $6k seems like a lot for TAG at first, it seems to compare favorably to other chronographs with objectively similar specs and, if it matters, "heritage." This is still $3500 less than the cheapest Zenith chrono, over a grand less than the cheapest IWC chrono, and around the same price as the cheapest Speedmaster, but with a manual-winding movement. The only Breitling chronos at this price are the ones with ETA/Valjoux movements, so the TAG's price seems to track well enough in that world. One big concern, though, is that in your video, the hand on the minute-counter sub-dial looks like it's misaligned, and not hitting the markers. At $6k, that's not really acceptable QC.
I am wondering if it a jumping minute hand or the one that just sweeps? Saw later in the video it is a jumping minute hand and does not hit the marks…you were right!
@@david12990 Yeah--I thought the same as you initially, but later in the video it's pretty clear when the chrono seconds-counter is at the :55 mark and the minute counter is about a quarter past the 3-minute mark, and I don't think it can be chalked up to parallax, either.
Took me a while to spot it. Holy moses, never seen a video that cuts away with the dial at 0:58 so many times. In any case, there is indeed a deviation in the minute-counter... I would literally not buy a watch at this price point if I noticed it, it's an imperfection and takes the joy away. I was getting mildly excited by Tag again, but this makes me lose interest a bit.
Before I was really into collecting watches I bought a Tag F1 quartz while living in Germany, and let me tell you I beat the heck out of that thing as my daily watch for a good 10 years and it’s still running perfect to this day with only 1 battery change. Since then I also acquired an Aquaracer automatic and while it’s very very nice, it just doesn’t feel as solid and robust like my F1 is.
I think their chronographs have always been great. These new Glassbox models are really handsome and look to be yet another set of great chronographs added to the brand's catalog. I would consider one and look forward to future offerings from TAG Heuer.
Great video Teddy. TAG on the whole is just hated on for no good reason. I have 2 and they are as hard as nails with brilliant build quality and longevity. Big fan here
The fine details of this Tag Heuer I think are very well done and it hasn't been spoilt by putting it in an oversized case. 37 Jewels also in this movement. Really good to see watches coming down in size.
These releases made me get my TAG’s out of the drawer and start wearing them again. Like many here TAG was my first “real watch” and I’d love to see TAG rise to form again.
Ever since I was a little kid Tag Heuer was in my life. Like many car enthusiasts of the 21st century, we love racing games. I would play Forza Motorsports 5 for hours. You would see that Tag branding on racecars in the game. Although I'm always a sucker for a Rolex product with my father having his sub for 20 years and counting. Tag always resonated with me as the brand that revolved around car people. Last year I picked up an Aquaracer 200 date automatic that I love. With the release of this.. you have given me another Tag to dream about. Great content as always.
As a car enthusiast, you definitely need a Carrera and/or a Monaco. I've owned my Carrera Heuer 01 (43mm, non-skeleton dial) for six years. Awesome timepiece!
I love my tags. Got my first in 1998. My carrera Panamericana is my favourite. Line it up with any other watch in the $10-$15k range and the look still holds its own. I’m a huge Porsche guy and the carrera line just speaks to me. That’s what this is all about.
Yes. Beauty. Teddy great honest review. Most young adult watch reviewers “RUclipsr” need to follow your approach. You appreciate many watches for what they are at all prices ranges regardless of brands. Hopefully many of these young people watching and making immature comments will learn to appreciate watches with your same type of approach. Guess maturity takes time for some.
I bought the Reverse Panda. It is stunning and the quality is top notch. And their newest iteration of the movement is silent with no rotor wobble, which really adds to the premium feel. The case, finish, and dial execution is excellent. Size at 39 is perfect. I would recommend this watch over a Speedmaster. Sure, it's not as versatile (maybe, I mean both can be daily drivers) but it's also way LESS boring.
Is the minute hand on the chronograph register of your watch misaligned, like the one presented here by Teddy? You wouldn't find this kind of quality issues with Omega.
@@johnnyguitar6697 Show me a time stamp of what you're talking about. The answer is no, btw. I'm almost certain the hand isn't misaligned and you're probably just viewing it from an angle. If you think Omegas don't have problems, you're high. Every company has watches with issues, even Rolex. That's the nature of the beast.
Love omega, but this watch has no issues. Have you seen it in person? Haters of TH always say you pay to much for TH because of advertisement. The truth is Omega advertising spending is 10x more and Rolex is the 20x more. A quick google will show you.
@@LouisMorales-zx3jmI don't care about the advertising budget, I care about the product. I have first hand experience with TH as the first expensive watch I ever bought was a TH diver back in 1996, whose movement failed within 18 months and had to be entirely replaced. And since then (27 years), I've regularly heard people complaining about their poor quality control. Yes, one gets the occasional dud at Omega and Rolex, but this happens more frequently at TH.
@@ams914 It's not the angle. You can clearley see it at 4:10 , 6:09 , 6:32 , 7:23 , 10:35 , 11:12 etc. which are taken at different angles, and from the top. Omega, and Rolex, also have problems, but they tend not to happen at the same frequency as TAG, and certainly not on something as obvious as this, which can be seen with a naked eye.
Hey, @TeddyBaldassarre, one request for these "behind the desk" reviews would be that you take 5-7 seconds and add a, "What I'm wearing today ..." segment where you tell us what's on your wrist at the moment. I was excited to see the Mariokart collaboration with Tag until i saw they were 44mm. I hope Tag is going back to normal sized watches. This watch will fit anyone, where a 44 (with a chunky design) will not. Love the design and size of this one!
It's noticeable the reluctance of many commentators to say anything positive about Tags and it's great to here your feedback on this model. I am no expert and have a couple of Tags bought from the aesthetics and price point view and have enjoyed them both for some 10 years Thanks

There are the obvious choices like the Carrera and Speedmaster, etc, but this would be a cool video as I’m sure there are others out there. There is a close tie between car and watch enthusiasts (we love machines with spinning, tight tolerance components), so it would be interesting for you to dig into that space.
I am actively selling my BR126v1 due to poor quality - broke 4 time in 7 years. And dealing with B&R service in Miami FL was beyond poor. Never again will I purchase another B&R watch because of the combination of poor watch reliability, but more importantly, horrible customer service. They even sent me someone else watch one of the 4 repair visits because the serial numbers didn't match.
Great work from TAG HEUER. This CARRERA is beautiful. I hope that they will offer , at least, 3 colors of dial . For a man passioned by sports cars (like me) 1000 $ difference will not guide my choice. I will put side by side an OMEGA speedmaster and this new Carrera and my heart will decide. Thank you so much TEDDY.
I can't wait to try this on my wrist. My first automatic luxury watch is a TAG Heuer Link I got from my parents 15 years ago, and it is still one of my daily wears, so the brand always has a special place in my heart. But they have been releasing chronograph watches that are rather thick and bulky with larger (42-44mm) dials, and I could not bite the bullet to buy one, even when I find the designs appealing. I also don't particularly like their more funky and trendy Formula 1 chronos. I am thrilled to see that they've gone done a notch on dial size but kept the classic aesthetics, and this watch is almost everything I've been dreaming for from TAG Heuer in the past few years.
27 years ago is when I bought my last tag Heuer. Saw this one and bought it a few weeks ago. Went in for the blue and walked out with the reverse panda. Love it. Great add to the collection
After seeing that PRX on white rubber I’m definitely making that my next watch. Blue waffle dial auto on bracelet and buying brown and black leather straps and orange, white and black rubber straps
Couldn't agree more... TAG is simply not at the races with their other offerings. Great to see them expand on the Carrera ... definately the direction they need to take. Their other models are confusing... example they have the Formula 1 - motor sport inspired watch but in a diver ? What were they thinking ? Carrera is a motorsport inspired chrono perfect match
Beautiful watch, torn between black and blue. Don't know why so many comments about Tag made quartz watches, so did Vacheron Constantin back in the days.
This, in reversed panda, is a first Tag, that I'm seriously considering. I love the design. Teddy you should be doing wrist check, I wonder what is the watch you're wearing in this video :)
As watch lovers it has to be appreciated. this was made RIGHT. Gotta love that. If it had another brand name (will not call one out) then I bet it would be a steal.
I think with launches like this watch TAG should be on the way back up. That said as you mention they are branching out into areas that some enthusiasts may feel devalue or dilute the brand with some of the 'smart watch' pieces. Personally I'm not bothered as I'd consider purchasing a watch based on the watch and not the brand. Personally I like the glass box but I've yet to see one in the flesh to form an in person view.
Hey Teddy. Please review the new Zenith Pilot big date flyback chornograph. I love the thoughtfulness behind the sound design and tactility of the pushers and date change. It should definitely be on your list of best chronographs for 2023! Also will you be collaborating with Ryan Gosling??
I can only judge from photos for now but this could well be the best looking chrono in its price range but it feels out off its depth with regard to brand equity. It’s great to see an option with a size th t suits more people. The biggest negative for me is the competition have much better looking movements or they hide them.
I really like it. It’s simple, there’s nothing there to bother my eye. Only thing that would keep me back is the price. I think it’s a little too much. But size and looks wise it’s great
Teddy I wish you would tell us what watch you are wearing before you start, I sit watching, trying to work out what it is every time. Sometimes I know but today I struggled.
Tag is flipping the bird to all the snooty haters. That glass bezel is so sick, I hope they make this one in a larger case size for us bigger folks. First their new titanium solar diver, now this bad boy Carrera… Good for them.
I generally like Tag Heuer - and I own an Aquaracer - but this video actually highlights one of Tag's perceived quality problems. I know I'm only going off the sample Teddy has, but for $6500 (US) you should expect the hands to hit the markers, but the chronograph minute hand is way off. This is something that QC should fix in a few seconds but doesn't, and that's where Tag falls behind other brands.
I tried this watch at the TAG boutique. I really like it. Teddy usually tests the movement, but not this time? Either way I have to decide between this watch and a Briteling chronograph. I am leaning to the Briteling.
Lots of lemmings out there, hating because other loud screamers hate. Usually they have no clue why or they are just parroting nonsense. If you gravitate towards Tags because you like them, just ignore the watch snobs. Haters are gonna hate...
Ignore them, a lot of haters are just snobs that only care about the resell value ( that’s why a lot of RUclipsrs also dealers hate on a lot of brands )
Lots of sheep that listen to RUclipsrs. I true watch enthusiast would never hate on a brand. They may criticize a release, but not a brand. Tag Heuer has MORE history than most watch makers. Teddy is one of them that just loves watches that are made well. Like this GlassBox.

please do a review on the Bell & Ross BR 05 Chrono! Will be greatly appreciated!
And B & R divers
I am actively selling my BR126v1 due to poor quality - broke 4 time in 7 years. And dealing with B&R service in Miami FL was beyond poor. Never again will I purchase another B&R watch because of the combination of poor watch reliability, but more importantly, horrible customer service. They even sent me someone else watch one of the 4 repair visits because the serial numbers didn't match.
The dial looked awesome!
Finally a masterpiece from Tag Heuer
Thank you for all your work and dedication. I have been watching your videos for quite some times. Love them
Cheers from Canada
Great work from TAG HEUER. This CARRERA is beautiful. I hope that they will offer , at least, 3 colors of dial . For a man passioned by sports cars (like me) 1000 $ difference will not guide my choice. I will put side by side an OMEGA speedmaster and this new Carrera and my heart will decide. Thank you so much TEDDY.
Beautiful piece.
I kept seeing that slight scratch on the 1:00pm lug. 😁👍🏻
I love this watch. Striking looks, stylish and exudes quality. Definitely want to wear one. Will get it.
Really great watch with a very impressive movement
Love it… the crystal looks amazing👍🏻👍🏻 great Job
That is a thing of beauty - well done Tag !
Well done watch, everything is well thought out
Very classy watch. Love it
This, in reversed panda, is a first Tag, that I'm seriously considering. I love the design.
Teddy you should be doing wrist check, I wonder what is the watch you're wearing in this video :)
Heuer, Breitling, Hamilton, Dubois Dépraz, Zenith, Seiko, and Omega are the brands I associate with mechanical chronographs.
Rolex Daytona surely?
@@keefw361 Sorry, but I associate the "Rolex" brand with the DJ and DD.
@@mirasga DJ & DD ??
@@keefw361 Date-Just and Day-Date. You're welcome.
@@mirasga never heard of them referred to DJ & DD before..
Beautiful . I wish it could reside in the $2-3k range.
As watch lovers it has to be appreciated. this was made RIGHT. Gotta love that. If it had another brand name (will not call one out) then I bet it would be a steal.
Does the crown screw down on this model or just kind of secure down and spin?
Great review. The OCD among us may be distracted by the camera lights reflecting off the back window.
Gasp! A tag heuer review from teddy ❤
Such a great watch, I love the blue one.
I can only judge from photos for now but this could well be the best looking chrono in its price range but it feels out off its depth with regard to brand equity. It’s great to see an option with a size th t suits more people. The biggest negative for me is the competition have much better looking movements or they hide them.
Can the straps be changed to bracelets? This is a super fine watch but my skin is allergic to leather straps. Thank you!
Yes I have seen it on a bracelet.
@@LouisMorales-zx3jm awesome..thank you!
What watch do you have on your wrist?
I really like it. It’s simple, there’s nothing there to bother my eye. Only thing that would keep me back is the price. I think it’s a little too much. But size and looks wise it’s great
I left a negative comment about this watch when this video came out but I changed my mind. This is a winner
The black dial with the date at 12 is, in my humble opinion, the watch to go for. But I'm biased, it's what I choose.
Strangely this is a watch that almost everything in its class is better but in 20 years it might be more collectible .A winner from Tag.
Yea tag Heuer is savage now , I pick over omega , although omega is tough
Teddy I wish you would tell us what watch you are wearing before you start, I sit watching, trying to work out what it is every time. Sometimes I know but today I struggled.
Just got it last week and I love it.
Love the black one
Glad they upgrade and fixed the rotor... the previous Heuer 2 rotor spins around like Kylie Minogue.
Your videos keep getting better and better, Teddy. Keep up the good work!
I tried this watch at the TAG boutique. I really like it. Teddy usually tests the movement, but not this time? Either way I have to decide between this watch and a Briteling chronograph. I am leaning to the Briteling.
You should make a video on watches that go with different college majors, law students, computer science, business, engineers, medical, science fields
I am a big fan of this watch. Waiting for it to drop in price on the secondary market so i can get one
Great looking watch!
Didn’t realize tag heuer had so many haters. I’m new to watches and I seem to gravitate to tags often.. interesting!
Too many sheep like to hate tag.
Like a watch for yourself, sod the others. Me, I think tag make some of the best chronographs around.
Lots of sheep that listen to RUclipsrs. I true watch enthusiast would never hate on a brand. They may criticize a release, but not a brand. Tag Heuer has MORE history than most watch makers. Teddy is one of them that just loves watches that are made well. Like this GlassBox.
I have two and my next will probably be the Carrera Twin Time. Go with what you like.
Yeah, this is a winner for me - nice review! EDIT: @10:30 when the chrono minute counter doesn't hit the tick, I could feel a stab in my gut
can you explain it to me what is exactly the problem?
Good execution and perfect size but I would still go with the Monaco.
That white and blue GMT Glows nice though
Appreciate your content, could you please give an opinion or review on the new Bulova Curv collection? Worth adding to collection?
Monaco & Carrera in my opinion is the only Tag watch worth buying
