I forgot how much I loved this movie. And your editing is funny as hell. Like playing "in the jungle" when one of the other robots gets strung up, or even the simple face morphing lmfao. Lean into that and you have one hell of a persona.
This movie and the sequel are great movies. 22:55 the recipe doesn’t say to crack them though. 31:11 it’s also funny some soldiers think they can keep the parts of “Number 5”. There’s no way NOVA would allow that.
right, he needs to react to the 2nd movie. ALSO: yes: telling an AI or "new intelligent being" how to do something without important details in the instructions means you better be sure they know what the implied instructions are or else lmfao
I could tell, but they weren’t ready for that, so they used Steve Guttenburg as her love interest instead. Or maybe she used Steve Guttenburg as a human side piece so she can get so of that robot loving.
Interesting facts to get your comments section going: The film with John Travolta on the TV, where Number Five emulates the dance moves, was Saturday Night Fever which was also directed by John Badham - the director of this movie. He also directed Wargames, Blue Thunder, Stakeout and Nick of Time - all great movies. The actor who plays Ben (the scientist of Indian descent) is called Fisher Stevens - actually a white guy in a role that wouldn't pass today without causing controversy. I once had an Indian friend who was surprised when I told him this (not offended as many may presume), which is testament to Stevens's performance to me. He was the human star of Short Circuit 2 a few years later, since Guttenberg and Sheedy didn't return for the sequel. In many ways I find it more entertaining than the first film, even if it's not crafted quite so thoughtfully.
Also, Fisher Stevens co-starred for a couple of seasons on the '90s CBS drama, "Early Edition", starring Kyle Chandler as a man who suddenly discovers he's getting the next day's newspaper delivered to his door every day.
I have a theory for Scroter or whatever his name is: From the very beginning he held contempt for all the new-fangled robotics that were gonna be used on the front lines. My guess is that he used to be a marine or something and was really, REALLY proud of himself. To the point that he wanted to keep being in the army and be commanding officer and stuff. He also dislikes the idea of outsourcing his line of work to machines. He feels that robots should never replace, or even come close, to his passion of being a marine. So when perhaps Nova was formed as a part of the military, and all eyes were on “the future” he felt slighted and for some reason, was put in charge of Nova’s defense squad, probably not by choice, and has since had a vendetta against all robots and machines! So when Number 5 went on the loose and he was tasked to “detain Number 5” he was more than thrilled to do every tactic, underhanded or not, to destroy this thing that he felt ruined his career and stuff! This is why as the film went on he began working outside his designated instructions and ignoring orders from his boss to do what he felt was the right thing to do. And judging from his own personal squadron, he might’ve also cultivated a similar sentiment among his peers as everyone who worked for him literally seemed like carbon copies of Scroter. They all even cheered and gleefully began toying with the busted parts of Number 5 as they carried them off. He clearly hated robots, and didn’t care less who or what he hurt as long as he could get his own personal revenge! Which is why it is so SOOO SATISFYING when Howard told him to do his job “somewhere else”…aka…YOU’RE FIRED SON!
This was super fun to watch you review. i've always been a fan of this film. I really wanted to hear the song at the end to top it all off ("Who is Johnny" by El DeBarge) - it fit so well with the movie. Then I remembered you couldn't play it because of copyright. Loved your reactions to it though :)
Now it's time to watch the sequel. Just as good. Don't worry. It didn't keep going with "3", "4", "5", etc. This time, they knew when to stop. Both movies are very cool. Btw, this was directed by John Badham ("WarGames", "Whose Life Is It, Anyway?" & "Saturday Night Fever").
Go ahead and check that out here on the channel as well it was put out 4 videos after this one. Which is crazy to think it’s already been almost a year. 😌
1. "Nice software". I couldn't agree more. I love/Lust Ally Sheedy😍😋 2. Way over the top Indian🤣 3. G.W. Baily also played Sergeant Rizzo in "MASH" 4. A movie where you can just lose yourself for awhile.😁 5. I found "Short Circuit II" disappointing.☹
I love 80s movies as well. Of course I was born in the mid 1970s. I have some more for you to watch, if you love this. It makes me so sad that not many people remember or react to this movie. It is such a classic piece that was honestly seriously amazing for it's time!
The behinds the scenes is impressive how they gave him so much personality.
This movie single handedly started my interest and love of robots, robotics, technology, and all that good stuff!
I'm convinced that this movie is where WALL-E got its inspiration from.
My favorite line possibly ever in a movie..
Newton: "HOLY SHIT!"
Johnny-5 [looking down at the ground, confused]: "No shit.. Where see shit?" 😂😂😂☠☠💩
This movie had so many amazing lines and banter between the characters 🤣🤣

nevermind I was lookingg at your other videos and missed it, my bad lol
I'd say the sequel is as good if not better!
I can agree on that one, the 2nd film is so good!
@@L1AML0V3SDRUMS The 2nd one is the shit!
fun fact the original script was supposed to be a love story between number 5 and Stephine.
I could tell, but they weren’t ready for that, so they used Steve Guttenburg as her love interest instead. Or maybe she used Steve Guttenburg as a human side piece so she can get so of that robot loving.
Hope ya react to the second one. Its one if me fave movies. Like it even better than the first and I love the first.
Oh trust I’m not done with Johnny 5 here on the channel 😊
This is my favorite movie and it pains me there’s so many people don’t know it exist
It's my favourite too!
Circuit
Hoping you watch the sequel, as no one reacted to this decent movie yet
For sure stay tuned & turn on the bell so you don’t miss it 😌
@@ShyheimCinema hey man it's been almost a year, when you gonna do it?
nevermind, forget this comment, I looked through the videos and missed it while looking through the great stuff you saw... sorry lol..
YEP *Short Circuit 2* is BETTER Than the First | Is his video title, if anyone else has issues finding it

Ay I appreciate the facts and comment. Also wow I would have never guessed the Ben thing 😄

I mean this from the bottom of my heart, I know it's been a year since you reacted to Short Circuit, but you NEED to see the 2nd movie
He has about the same time

my favorite duology.

I’m really glad you enjoyed it, this is definitely one of my favorites I’ve done 🧡
YAY SHORT CIRCUIT! WOOO
Filmed in the same town as The Goonies and Kindergarten Cop
Astoria, Oregon
I did not know that, that’s cool (might need to visit Oregon to check out some of those spots) 🤔

I do love this movie it's so funny.
It’s truly one of the best!! 😄
So they said Ally Sheedy had a cameo in Home Alone 2 telling Kevin he was in New York. She was the airline attendant.
OMG!! Woah I never would have noticed that 😳🤯
“It’s Scrotum!”
- “Skroeder.” 🤣
Such a classic movie
I was 9 years old when this was in theaters in 1986, and this is the bomb. Short Circuit 2 is better though.
Don't worry, little lady, I'll fiz their waggon
1. "Nice software". I couldn't agree more. I love/Lust Ally Sheedy😍😋

Short Circuit 2 is the shit. It’s better than this one, bro.
Who needs the robots? Just give some troops that laser gun that can blow up tanks!
J5 reminds me a bit of Nintendo's R.O.B.
The whole laser idea is insane for a robot or human 😂
They have a parachute because they're designed to be dropped behind enemy lines carrying a nuclear bomb. Isn't that fun information?
Have you seen WALL-E? Its a amazing film.
Yes WALL-E Is great. I used to do a great “wall-e” impression 😄

@shyheimCinema are you excited to see Transformers: rise of the beast 2023 movie and fast and furious X 2023 movie?
Well I’ve already seen Fast X in theaters but I haven’t yet watched the new Transformers movie.
Is your next video going to be reacting to the super Mario bros movie 2023?
That depends on how genuine you want the reaction to be because I watched it in theaters 😂
Short Circuit 2 is better.
