I have some fun facts about this movie. It was made in inspiration from Roger corman films, I believe three of them they were House of usher, Pit and pendulum, and Tomb of Ligeia (all pretty good films) with actor Vincent Price who played in all three. Dr. Bradley Bradley was basically a Vincent Price character he was going to do a Vincent prince voice but wasn't good at it so he did actor George saunders voice and casting loved it. The lover interest The actor who played the stable boy didn't speak an ounce of English so they decided to dub him but they purposely chose a off the chart style. There were also some dangerous scenes where Elvira might have died if anything went wrong. The hanging out of the carriage scene that was actually a real ledge if I remember right. they had a stunt double but in the end Elvira decided to do it herself and admitted she was actually holding on for dear life. The flash back of Elura's false death where she jumps out of a window Elvira actually did jump out of a window in a building. her landing spot was stacked mattresses. I forget the full story but they said that if the mattress had been a certain angle Elvira might of fallen a certain way that would of resulted in a bounce which may have sent her falling to her death. One last incident was the actress only day off she was walking on a path and had a few apples in her pockets. a wild horse came up and she gave it an apple. another horse came up, she gave it an apple, next thing you know a bunch of very aggressive horses wanting apples where bumping her. she said it was the scariest time of her life.
