Literally the best GD reaction video I have seen yet. Informative, to the point, and relevant w/out any rambling like every. other. video. so far. While English is obviously not your 1st language, you are far more articulate and coherent than your peers. By a wide margin. Thank you
Really sounds amazing. Cannot wait. Honestly the new expansion and your GD community seasons are the only two video game related releases that are always getting me hyped up for. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the video.
appreciate the coverage RBP! some really cool features here for long term replayability. nice of them to acknowledge some of the efforts you've kept up on the league. i'll return to my regular duty of suggesting GD to any of my friends that are looking for a new game haha
Hello Rekt, completely off-topic but I was wondering if you have considered doing some 'build review' videos for youtube? Players submit builds for review in the forums or reddit or youtube so you can point out how to optimize the builds in a youtube vid. Would be very educative for new players as well. Keep being the best GD streamer as always and thanks for all the great content.
Poggies, lots of poggies, and grats everyone working on the league, they basically copied (not devaluing their work, they did implement the thing and polished it up) your design choices on the leagues, really happy for you all and hyped for the ascension even if it means it's gonna end my characters left and right
With this update, I feel like there is an even bigger need for infinite stash because more items and one more class and like lots more build diversity and shit... I know infinite stash wont come to Grim dawn (apart from the add-on we have), but I hope they will consider it for Grim Dawn 2 because you honestly want to save so many items in Grim Dawn that it becomes hard to play without it. I use mules and it is a fucking hassle, and i'm just not comfortable with installing like add-ons and disconnecting steam cloud and such, and the one time I tried getting it I didnt install it right. It might just be a "me"-problem but I honestly think it would be the biggest quality of life update if they gave us an easier way to store items in grim dawn. At least making mules easier to make, bigger stash tabs or something, I dunno. With that said I think the update is really amazing and they are amazing developers, and i'm very much looking forward to it all and some grimtooling with the new class of course :)
hey man ive been loving the grim dawn content since im new to the game but one thing ive noticed is, that your thumbnails are a bit confusing or dont really catch the eye to get you to want to click the videos. a change might generate more traffic to your content!
@@rektbyprotoss well I am no algorithm expert by any means nor really have I uploaded a yt video but when I look at your thumbnails I get alot of inspiration from zizaran in the Poe community and there is nothing wrong with that but I think the difference is that in your thumbnails and his are that yours have a lot of small words and hard to read things for mobile. @@rektbyprotoss idk your capabilities with creating a thumbnail hell I’ve never even made one myself so it’s probably much harder than I perceive but I’ve watched a bunch of you videos on grim dawn and your commentary and recording of gameplay is really good! It’s like you see a bunch of little words and you’re like “ yeah I’m not reading all of that” is the best way I could describe it where as if you just put a buzz phrase or something like the “BEST BUILDS” or “PATCH NOTES 3.21” what ever just to get them to look at your thumbnail and direct them to reading your title which should then sell them on clicking on your video!
shame that they wont include seasons with maybe auction house or something, with new expansion. That would definitely put Grim Dawn back.on the map with current aRPGs
Grim Dawn is premium single player experience and not a game-as-a-service. I'm grateful that they did not even try to turn it to one. If you'd like to have AH, you can play Grim Dawn League :).
As a long time player, I wish the DLC came out, and these were planned updates in succession. Not everything all at once, wait another year. Honestly, a lot of the stuff they are reworking are basically PoE league things (not a str8 up copy but very similar). So why not add them like leagues? I don't want leagues per say as I don't have time IRL, but big updates every so often and deliver the DLC.
I very much understand where you're coming from. PoE does however have a different monetisation model. They make money of stash tabs and mtx that they sell every league while the base game is free. GD is making the majority of their money selling their base game + expansions, which means that those have to be fully worth it at the time of release. Also Crate generally is not as good at PR and/or can't afford to make PR to the extent that GGG does. So while I understand your desire and as a player I fully agree, I would have to disagree from a game dev's and modder's perspective. As a modder having less frequent releases that introduce game braking changes means having to do less frequent adjustments (and thus less time wasting) to make sure mods are still working on the current version of the game. So as a modder I prefer that over a new features that breaks your mod every 3 months.
@@rektbyprotoss I actually haven't played poe in a while and forgot that is the main way they make money... I agree with you on that, not sure what to do... I love GD but it just doesn't "update" enough for me personally.. Also crate is not a huge company, I don't know budget, projected sales etc. Good points haha, also thanks for the reply.
Ascendant mode making Ultimate equal to SR 60 difficulty? Thats "jogging pace" for me (given my awkward leveling scheme - do the leveling in normal > skip elite [massive time waster] and jump to ultimate > put on pre-farmed gear > continue the campaign to unlock missing skill and attribute points > jump to SR). I kind of hoped this mode would be some type of new SR... tsk, oh well. That ascension altar thingy looks interesting. We will see how this pans out. Might be interesting, or it might turn out a time waster. Who knows?
While I think crate should generally reduce drop rates by like 50%, there won't be enough appeal for a broad audience if they don't offer proper risk/reward balance for ascendant mode and thus it has to offer the best loot per minute out of all difficulties.

Cannot wait the expansion and for more information.
Looks freaking amazing. It will be worth the wait and more.
The Ascension Altar looks interesting.
must be a cool feeling to get your mod mechanics basically imported into the main game
I can't help but think that they will surely put a step to unlock the secret quest into the altar mechanic using some special combination.

You'll indeed want to keep a LOT of items in FoA. Stash space would need to be like 10x at least.
This sounds amazing.
Could you consider to add to your "GD basics" a video on key binding and other small items (maybe updates from your first videos)?
I would like to see a more in-depth crafting system that revolves around RNG, similar to POE. But, not as extreme to get viable end game gear.
The "affix reroll system" might be more than just rerolling, we'll see.
I'm excited about this no matter what. I think they can compete with Mi+ items. but I'm not sure. I'm confused.
I hope for the Acid AAR. ^^
