Hi there! I just bought 10lbs of potatoes today for under $2.00! Despite being a recent widow and being alone I could not pass that deal up! I told the grocery clerk I guess I can freeze them! I do not like canned potatoes either!

My grandmother had a clock that rang out like that. It brought tears to hear it. So calming. I could smell her house in an instant. Apples and roast meat and bread, it smelled like a combination of that. Sounds weird i know but thats my memory.

Another good way to preserve chopped onions, spread them on parchment paper (lightly sprayed with oil) and flash freeze for 4-6 hours until frozen solid, then bag them up. They will be loose and easy to get out of freezer bag without having to beat them loose.

Thank you Mrs Lori for this video full of good information! You have inspired me again to preserve food for winter use. I sure do like the idea to freeze onions. I have bought frozen onions in our local bulk food store but was in larger quantities and it's hard to get them apart. I often make larger amount of mashed potatoes so I can freeze several meals. Interesting you said you are so busy and I hear that from people who have retired. The case is the same with me. We find lots to do and it's all good. Grateful for the health the Lord has blessed us with. Be blessed!

Here in the northwest onions are selling at the stores for nearly 3.00 a pound and eggs are going for 4.00 for 12. Very costly when you have no way to garden. Last time I bought meat was last March. Just too costly and too risky. I am so glad you all are so blessed. I threw out my TV and only keep aware of the weather on AccuWeather app on my phone, and only once in a while see news headlines... Keeps life very positive. Made a huge difference. I follow fire and storm maps to stay prepared.

Hi Mrs. Lori! Thank you so much for showing how to freeze all different ways of mashed potatoes, hashbrowns, and French fries. We love potatoes every which way. I have prepped and froze corn on the cob. We did blanching and ice water, but found out you didn't have to, so I don't. Just shuck bag and freeze. Also shredded and measured zucchini for batches of bread, muffins and fritters. Also same with squash and carrots, onions and anything I can think of freezing. I used to can jams and jellies, but hard to do healthwise anymore. I'm 78, so have slowed down a bit. Thank you again. I love your and Mr. Brown's video tutorials. God Bless you both with health and happiness. Violet (VI) from Visalia, California.

Hi Laurie,. When I want to freeze mashed potatoes,I add cream cheese and butter while mashing. Then I spread out on to a parchment covered cookie sheet. Then I score the top in individual servings. And freeze. After frozen I take and break apart the servings .and usually vacuum seal or I put in sandwich bags. Works wonderfully.

Shouting out from Louisiana... I've been following your channel for several years, although I've never commented before. But, I must say, that I look forward to every post you make! You probably get this often, but I feel as if we were really good friends because we seem to have so much in common! I keep y'all in my prayers! Take care and God's blessings upon you!

Thank you Miss Lori for all the hard work you put into your videos. That Red Cow Milk is $41 on Amazon snd $57 at Walmart, that's simply too expensive for most people these days. I will stick to the cheaper brands. But it's good information to know should the price ever go down.

I used to freeze mashed potatoes every year I used them all winter especially Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. It not only tastes good but it saves time when you have a lot of different dishes to cook.
