    I’m so happy you posted this. I relax my hair in middle school because I was embarrassed of my hair texture because people would judge how come my hair shrunk and my hair was kinky and thick. Now I’m in highschool and I’m embracing my culture and loving my dark melanin. I’m going to big chop now

    Everyone that talks about going natural just elegantly explain waiting for your natural hair to grow back, this whole video can be summarised in just wait for your hair to grow back

    I have been watching so many videos and searching info online...even trying to get information from my stylist (who is not ethnic) and your video has had the best information. I've been relaxing my hair for so long (30+ yrs) that I wasn't sure what my natural hair texture was. I don't want to do the big chop, have been transitioning since, maybe March when I had a Brazillian Blowout done because my stylist thought it would help me to transition to natural easier. It has been a difficult experience. Mostly because there doesn't seem to be a stylist who specializes in transitioning to natural hair. Everything I've learned so far has come from my daughters (who have both gone natural w/a big chop) and from RUclips videos. This has been the best info so far. Thank you! I will visit your other sites for more info and support.

    I am already almost two months into my journey to natural hair and it is not frustrating me as I would have expected. Best thing is to keep my hair tucked in. I wash add whatever I want to add let it dry and cornrow into four or two parts and wear wigs and remove the wigs whenever I am not in public. I just try to get my mind off my hair and leave it alone

    A cancer scare brought me here. Results were benign but I’m not taking any more chances.
    Went natural before and my hair grew like crazy. The downside was, I felt I was having more bad hair days than I would with relaxed hair. So I went back to relaxing because it was more manageable but I am too scared to put those chemicals on my head anymore. So I’m back to natural inspo videos.

    This is a great video! I transitioned for 14 months before big chopping. I was lucky to not have much breakage at all. Moisture it's definitely a key thing while transitioning. Yes shrinkage is crazy but a sign of healthy hair. Something I was not prepared for with natural hair is ssk. My hair gets so many single strand knots. I just tried my hair and I still have do many. Can you make a video on how to deal with ssk and avoid them?

    Hi. I just started this process. It's been 2 and a half months since my last relaxer. I just went back to my hairdresser last week because I don't know what I'm doing and I wanted her to wash and deep condition my hair and style. She did do a deep condition under dryer and then used a blow dryer and a brush and comb to dry the hair, then a flat iron to style. I hated the end result. But I figured it's what I had to live with to get through this process. Don't want to do the big chop.
    What would you advise? Imbwatching a few "how to go natural" videos and I question her method. She seemed to be pushing the big chop to me, tho very gently. I'm thinking that's the only method she may be comfortable with....🤔

    • @DiscoveringNatural
      @DiscoveringNatural  8 лет назад +3

      +Chiterra Palmer Relaxed Hair is Perm Hair. This is hair that has been chemically treated to be straight. Natural hair is hair that has not been chemically altered. This is the hair you are born with. Going to a beauty salon is a personal choice. It is not recommended. My girls and I have not yet been a beauty salon.
