Undertale is an RPG video game created by American indie developer Toby Fox in 2015.
The player controls a child who has fallen into the Underground: a large, secluded region under the surface of the Earth, separated by a magic barrier. The player meets various monsters during the journey back to the surface. Some monsters might engage the player in a fight. The combat system involves the player navigating through mini-bullet hell attacks by the opponent. They can opt to pacify or subdue monsters in order to spare them instead of killing them. These choices affect the game, with the dialogue, characters, and story changing based on outcomes.
There are 3 main endings: Neutral, True Pacifist, and Genocide. This movie attempts to reach the True Pacifist ending in the shortest amount of time possible. This route showcases almost all of what Undertale has to offer as a speed-game.

there's probably some stuff i missed, but i'll edit the comment when i find out about more improvements.
here's some other stuff that can't be listed as individual improvements:
the amount of time it takes for an encounter to start is random, varying by up to 5 frames. i'm not gonna go through the whole thing and count the amount of frames each encounter takes, but time could definitely be saved by manipulating rng for it.
it takes faces in textboxes a couple frames to appear and start the text. it's possible to save these few frames, which adds up to a significant amount of time over the run. once again, i'm not going through every textbox from a major character to see how much time could be saved.
*2:54 doing an OWW here was known, but not the faster strat found by mrlink2k
*25:29 mad dummy skip was not known, but doing the fight in one less turn was.
*27:25 while eebp wasn't known, there were a couple known optimizations for the route with getting the pan normally.
*32:50 it was known that there was a faster way to do this room, but not this specific method

@@ZSquaredPlusC oceanbagel said that he might do a tpe tas when he's finished with his neutral tas, but probably not. the main reason is the rng manipulation. in tpe, you get the pie in home, which changes toriel rng, so he'd have to redo it. there's also mad dummy and flowey. mad dummy took bagel around 40 hours of brute forcing rng manip.
i won't get into why flowey is so bad for rng, but trust me... it's _bad._
there is a skip in the true lab tho that I use because I hate this boss the lemons guy sweet lemons I think but you can actually skip the save that he is triggered at u go to the to of the "save" and you shimmy through. it will only take 2 seconds at the fastest it will NOT work if you go to the bottom of the "save" but u have to go at the top.also in floweys fight, the intro that happens then the save that says floweys world, you can spam it to get in quickly and he also forgot to skip quickly some dialogue

Welcome to a True Pacifist Undertale TAS, where Frisk has a seizure for most of the run, the dialogue is SUBLIMINAL MESSAGES, and the Punch Card uses more than 1% of its full power, forcing Undyne to play catch-up as Frisk already gets halfway through her harpoon maze before she knows what's going on, and astounding Mettaton by evading his traps before he even has a chance to activate them!

this is actually a very easy trick, even for real time, just use a punch card somewhere midway (not specifically any pixel), then quickly press the third switch.

The Punch Card Exploit is essential for fast True Pacifist runs, it saves like 20-30 minutes at least. You literally skip some battles altogether using it.

this is the story about how a kid called F saved countless lives on less of 1 hour!
the kid fell to the underground and had strokes every minute, they fleed from every monesters and passed every puzzle, then, on the house of a goat, they asked the goat to exit, then they fighted, what the goat didn't know is that the kid was a masochist so the kid kept receiving damage while the goat is confused so she decides to stop attacking and spares the kid, then the kid gets out and a skeleton is talking to them but the kid has better stuff to do so they simply walk away and the skeleton goes to them saying they need to hide from the other skeleton, so the kid upset does it and a conversation that the kid didn't care about, then the kid went to a box and steals some gloves of someone else, then the kid sees the skeletons and the kid knows it will be long so simply proceeds to ignore their conversation, then petted a dog and ended the battle quickly which the dog was confused and the kid is happy to see they won't have to deal with more people, until some seconds later, the fat skeleton wanted to say something to the kid, but the kid doesn't care and just walks away, the kid passes a puzzle and keeps walking ignoring what the fat skeleton wants to say, the kid skipped 1 puzzle and agreed with papyrus on a discussion he didn't even hear about, then they kept walking, fleed of a battle and ignored a couple of dogs while the kid keeps walking, then the kid passes some puzzle and cheats on the next puzzle, then the tall skeleton explained a puzzle to the kid but the kid doesn't care so the tall skeleton gives up and just walks away, then the kid quickly passes a puzzle so hard that they start floating, then the kid finds a dog and does something so quick that the fabric of the reality gets confused, then the kid continued walking, the skeletons wanted to use a puzzle but they knoiw that the kid was going to ignore it so they didn't use it, so the kid once again ignores the fat skeleton and goes to a town, takes a shortcut, and the kid goes to fight the tall skeleton, then the kid goes masochist and gets damaged by the bones, but the tall skeleton decided to capture them instead, but the kid escapes and the skeleton fights again with him but skipping the intro part, the kid still goes masochist and keeps getting hit until being near of the death, it repeats until thhe skeleton gives up, so they became friends, then they go and have some no-homo bridge and they fell to a garbage place, then a training dummy gained liveand was mad because the kid ignored them, so the kid trolls the dummy by making the bulles hit him, then the dummy gets madder and replaces the mini-dummies with robots, but the kid manages to keep trolling the dummy with the robots, so the dummy got so mad that a ghost kicked the dummy's ass, then the kid proceeds to ignore everything and ignores the other kid and the kid goes to the fish, but the kid ignored her and walked away, but the fish was mad and she chased the kid down, b after a bit of chasing the kid and the fish get to a hot land and the fish falls on the floor because they couldn't keep up with the velocity of the athletic kid, But the kid ignores her and walks away, then enters on a lab and gets away before someone saw the kid, then a creep starts sending messages to the kid but the kid ignores them, so the kid kept walking through these hot places, skips a puzzle thanks to some creepo that the kid doesn't know, traspasses a door, and keeps going, there was a dark room and the creepo that the kid doesn't know turns the lights on and the kid just walks away of the room, then the kid passes a puzzle and the creep calls again and does an earrape, so the kid just keeps doing puzzles as usual, then someone tells the kid to stop but the kid didn't care and just walked away, then enters on the news, but the kid didn't want to be part and just floated away from the room, then the kid went to another room and floated and traspassed some door, then the kid entered on some place with spiders, but the kid had a phobia of spiders so they ran away of the room, then the kid heard a metallic voice and ran away, then the kid went to a core, ignored two shadows, passed a puzzle, then went to a path, the creep shutted down some lasers, then said the kid to wait, but they just kept walking and passed the puzzle, then the kid did some mini-game and cheated to shoot a lot of times at once, then the kid went and used a letter to teleport to an elevator, then ignored a robot and the creep started stalking the kid but the kid decided to run and went to a house and a lot of animals thingies talked to the kid but the kid ignored them, then the fat skeleton tried to talk to the kid but the kid teleported with a letter and escaped from him, then the kid went and fighted a fat goat, the kid ate a pie which made the fat goat sad because he wanted a pie too so the goat's defense went down, so the kid proceeded to beat up the goat so hard that the kid was doing 400 damage each hit, so the fat goat was sad and wanted to say a story but the kid didn't like waiting so the kid murdered the goat but then the flowey destroyed the king's soul and then the kid fighted with the flower who now was a smart TV connected to a giant crap with fat arms and a dog? face that spits lasers, the souls tried to murder the kid but the kid told them that the flower threatened them so the souls helped the kid because theeveryone knows if you threat and attack a kid called f then you need to die at all costs, so the flower defense went down, then the kicks the flower's ass so hard the flower went normal againand the kid brutally murders the flower and goes to the surface but they weren't happy so they inmediatly went back on the time and went to the fish house and went on a date so quick that the fish decides to fight them again instead, and the kid inmediatly attacks but felt bad and did 1 damage, so the date concluded, then the kid decided to date the stranger they never met and they agreed to be on a date, after said date the kid goes in a secret door and goes down an elevator and almost dies, but they are totally fine, then the kid sees some weird things but they ignore them and repairs the elevator and then the stranger tells her secrets to the kid but the kid doesn't care so they ignore it and they go back to the place where the fat goat is, but then the other goat that was one of the few that knew the kid was masochist appeared to stop the fight because she knew the kid was going to be a masochist and receive every hitso she stops it and everyone else comes, but then the flower comes and absorbs the monsters souls because the flower was mad about the kid murdered the flower, so the flower became a furry goat and fighted with the kid, the kid wasn't even receiving damage so the furry goat decided to get out of his furry mode and go to leg-less mode, the kid is still not receiving damage, the kid was so determined that directly went to save his friends, with the fish, The kid was using his old abilities and the fish recognized those movements adn the fish was saved, the kid went with the stranger, even if the kid didn't know the stranger on the absolute, the stranger was still saved somehow, with the fat skeleton and the tall skeleton, the kid yelled so much jokes that the skeletons were saved, with the goat and the fat goat that was killed by the kid, the kid hugs the fat goat and both of them are saved, then saves asriel and hegives a blast to the kid, but the kid liked the blast since, masochism, so the goat stopped and spared the kid, then opened the barrier and gave back the kid's friends, the kid didn't forgive him and went to the surface with everyone else, however, the friends of the kid sdiscovered his name wasn't F, it was a shortened variation of the name FRISK, but they decided to keep calling them F because it is better, so, until now the kid called F was remembered by saving the entire underground in 1 hour and living with the girl goat, so, the fat goat is on a diet but they are fat so this retired king will never lose weight, the tall skeleton is sad because he only has 1 friend and it's the kid and nothing more, the fat skeleton is 1000x times more lazy and is upset because the kid ignored him every minute of his presence, the furry goat who now turned back into a flower is sad because the kid was a jerk to them even in his normal form, the stranger (Alphys) is still is a stranger for the kid, the fish is still violent, the robot still was ignored, the big spider girl is still searching the kid so tthey pay the money she needs, so yeah, the lives of the monsters are still crappy on the surface, but at least they are free!

Ed Perm After you skip the Mettaton cutscenes (bake show, news show, theater play) you can't access the menu to do Punch Card Exploit. You get your menu back by going back to Waterfall (that bridge) and reentering Hotland.

2 errors were it started the game in new game plus mode by mistake and showed some libTAS tools on screen for a few frames
I love how you can kill Asgore and Flowey and still move on with True Pacifist, but if you skip the date with Papyrus or Undyne, the run is over

I wonder how this TAS was made in a PC game. It should be any tools like save state, rewind, load state, frame to frame advance. But how it works on pc?
The title says it's a Linux TAS though. With, presumably, the Linux version of Undertale.
Anyway, when PC Windows TASes were a thing, like with Cave Story, they used a program called Hourglass, which isn't being used anymore.
Since it specifies Linux, it’s probably using libTAS ( github.com/clementgallet/libTAS ).
There is a tool used called libTAS which acts similarly as hourglass, but better.
