This is a Tool-Assisted Speedrun (TAS), which means that this video was made in an emulator with save states and slow downs for a theoretically perfect run, for entertainment purpose.
Full category name: Genocide Ending.
Rerecords count: 22,587 + about 5k unofficially (that were spent for testing different routes that appear to be slower at the end, so I never saved them in movie file).
Time by speedrun.com rules (Real Time Attack method which starts at the name confirmation and ends at the final choice): 57:56.83.
Time by TASvideos.org rules (starts from the very beginning and ends after final input): 58:10.93.

I planned to make this video a while ago, but making descriptions is hard. Meantime, I slightly optimized this run by taking notes from feedback of stream premiere, and now I really can say that I don't have any ideas, how this run possibly could be any faster.
I also added Kill Counter, so it should be easy for you to keep track on kill requirements.

@@yeeto9968 Along with what the other person said, it's also optimised that you're moving towards doors, gates etc. as you're moving naturally rather than having to maneuver into them.

Imagine you're Undyne, the greatest royal guard and most feared warrior in all the Underground.
Then some kid comes along, murders half the Underground, and you're forced to stop them.
You transform into an Undying form with multiple times the strength and durability.
Then that kid effortlessly styles on you with your own spear and you can't land a single hit.

thinking about it, it's very easy to get past spikes that have a sharp bit about halfway up your torso, you can just... go between them

I'm startled by how quiet and somber the music gets. The game is trying to tell you "Hey, wait. You're doing something wrong." or at least trying to hint at it. Still, I suppose what you are doing is what humans would do.
This is an incredible TAS. I do love the DVD icon movement system. Adds a splash of comedy to it all.

Also no-hitted Sans, Frisk the genocidal DVD screensaver just absolutely decimated the two (maybe three if you count Flowey's potential) strongest monsters in the Underground with no effort.
@@thesunwillneverset He took 7 damage fighting Sans. There's runs with a true no-hit, so I was kind of surprised that he didn't.

FUN FACT! Jerry overpowers the human in determination and uses this to get constantly killed over and over again! The human dosent die or load throughout this whole video, which is because they cant as Jerry's determination is too overwhelming

y'know, i knew most of the music took inspiration/instruments from earthbound, but i jjust now realized that the sound that plays during the final scene in this run when youre looking at chara is damned near the same as what plays when you fight geigue before the music kicks in in mother/earthbound 0

this is the story of a kid who has a symbol as name who, fell on a mountain and killed a bunch of butterflies, then went to a house and killed a goat, then met two skeletons and started kill things on front of them while they talk, then skipped a lot of puzzles, kept killing and went to a town and killed 1 of the two skeletons, then went to some cave and killed a lot of things while fleeing of a heroine who's chasing them, then tried to kill a kid but failed and proceeded to beat up the heroine and make her look like a weakling before she died, then went to a lab and avoided looking at some robot and while the robot talks the kid eats something and continues to kill a lot of things on their way, then went to a core and killed a bunch of things then went to kill the robot, then a flower talked to them but the kid simply ignored them and kept walking, by some reason the flower gets scared of them But the kid ignored him so they didn't care, then proceeds to battle the 2nd skeleton and starts doing athletic movements and kills the skeleton, then goes to kill another goat and kills the flower too, then some kid who also had a symbol as name appeared and offered the other kid to destroy the world, they accepted and the kid kills the yellow kid (which was the principal killer) and now this other kid is still killing everyone with his athletic movements and ignoring every word directed to them until this very day.

The amount of stunting in this run is perFECTION, mate! Literally only four hits the entire Sans fight, and no-hit Undyne the Undying. Such a phenomenal and fun run to watch!!

Fun fact: you will return to Neutral Route if you kill everyone in Snowdin missing Snowdrake. The same can't be said to Lesser Dog which can later be noticed making snowdog alongside deer NPC and also in empty Grillby's. Yes! You can let Lesser Dog live in Genocide... before Chara comes to erase the world.
this is not true. if you encounter lesser dog (which you always will unless you menu buffer) then geno will be aborted

It took several months, I expected it to be over a year, but the progress went quickly since I had many days when I could spend 6+ hours on optimizing one Core fight.
Tryin' to give me a freaking anxiety attack while fighting Sans? That was a lot of close shaves!
What type of emulator is it? The only way I could see an emulator running undertale would be a PSVita emulator or a VM for the PC. Either way, nice job.

I used LibTAS for Linux's version emulation on VM. It can handle TASing most of Linux games.

For Sans, would it not have saved time to equip a weapon that only requires one button press per attack?
Nope. Ballet shoes have the shortest animation of the attack after hit's inputs.
How does rng work in this game? You have to wait this long between encounters even in tas? Weird
the time you have to wait for the encounters is the same. rng determines what enemy you get in each encounter and how many of them
How the summer vacations feel like compared to normal work days:

Edit: I found out that there is an Earthbound TAS with 44k+ re-records and it's 3 hours long so...
