Undertale is an RPG video game created by American indie developer Toby Fox in 2015.
The player controls a child who has fallen into the Underground: a large, secluded region under the surface of the Earth, separated by a magic barrier. The player meets various monsters during the journey back to the surface. Some monsters might engage the player in a fight. The combat system involves the player navigating through mini-bullet hell attacks by the opponent. They can opt to pacify or subdue monsters in order to spare them instead of killing them. These choices affect the game, with the dialogue, characters, and story changing based on outcomes.
There are 3 main endings: Neutral, True Pacifist, and Genocide. This TAS achieves the Genocide ending, which is known for being the most RNG-intensive category in the game due to the heavy emphasis on combat; the player must kill a specific amount of enemies in each area in order to not lock themselves out of this ending.

By far the most frightening thing about this run is that Jerry who is forced to repeatedly watch all of his friends get massacred until he's the only one left, then get pummeled helplessly until he finally tastes the sweet release of death.

this took months of routing and got an average rating of 7.9 on tasvideos. the TPE tas took a few days, was super unoptimized, and... also got 7.9...
to be fair, the genocide TAS required a lot more RNG manip than the TPE TAS, and there's route variation with genocide's kill strategy, which is likely why it took longer
@@luckytyphlosion9910 yeah i'm saying this one deserved a higher rating than the tpe tas
@@RichConnerGMN dont worry it has a 10 in our hearts
I like how the encounter alert thing changes from an exclamation mark to a smiley face.
That's cause of Chara
Knox I think you mean, well, whatever name they put at the beginning that I don’t know how to type
Hi myself
This was always my speculation, but i think the reason it does that in geno is because the player character is no longer being surprised by monsters and being attacked first. Instead, they are seeking out each encounter to kill. I'm not talking about the player, but im talking about Frisk.
May be wrong, but thats just my guess
I actually really like the slowed down genocide tracks, especially the one for Hotland.
They give me anxiety.
So... you like genocide?
2.0 playback speed and it's basically the normal one

Wrong character
It's pretty crazy that Dora The Explorer... smiles?!?! *gulp*
He choosed Linux and japanese version of the game because linux has faster Dialogues also japanese version of the game that why he chooses the Linux japanese version

you... spare jerry? and can still get the genocide ending? that's gold lol
update: oh, he just tags alongside friends, watches them die, and then..
Don't be like Jerry. Die alongside the people you care about!
As long as you kill at least 1 monster per encounter it’s counted as a killed encounter, regardless of how many are in the encounter, although it still counts 2 kills as 2 kills in an encounter of 3. Jerry just isn’t worth the time.
You can spare any monster besides boss or mini boss monsters and still get geno ending
but nobody came...
I like how you still take damage when Sans pulls out ever more bullsh*t.
it was faster
10:34 sans and papyrus stare in awe as frisk murders multiple monsters in front of them

i love how it's teasing sans by jumping around even if it makes no sense 😂😭
Man this “tas” guy is to good at speed running
EeveeNation64 I feel like this a joke but I'll explain it anyway ,"tas" isn't a guy... It's a Tool-Assisted Speedrun
Nx Vernxual
Spoiler alert it is
Nx Vernxual if you felt like it’s a joke why’d you explain it anyway?
@@australiananarchist480 cuz there are some people doesn't know what TAS is and i am one of them :c also thanks for explaining so TAS is like a Bot speedrunning games for you?
@@AbdllahRaphel sort of. It's basically where you use a program to input the buttons and stuff for you, on the exact frame you want them to happen. Frame perfect jumps? Easy for a TAS, pressing both left and right at the same time? Piece of cake. It basically takes the human physical element out of the game, everything you want to happen will happen the frame you want it to happen. Reaction times, stress, tiredness, need not apply, that's why it's a seperate category, because the human element is part of speedruns. That's not to say TAS's are worse or anything, they certainly aren't, but it becomes less about individual people's physical abilities and more about the mental labour in finding the frame perfect, theoretical run, rather than a practical run. So you could describe them as a bit doing it for you, but it's more a bit doing the inputs for you, and you give them the exact frame by frame instructions
What's different between Linux and Windows versions?
The inputs?
Text rate?
Linux has TAS tools
Not only that but it recognizes z and enter as separate inputs and the same goes for x and shift, therefore, you can mash 2 times faster on linux
on the other hand, if you're using windows you can't just press z and then enter or x and then shift and viceversa, otherwise it just counts as holding the inputs, which is why mashing's harder on the windows version of undertale since you have to wait for one more frame before pressing z or enter after already having pressed one of the two 2 frames earlier, and the same with x and shift
@@MushySR tas doesn't mash
@@alexanderskladovski i know, but humans do, and that's why linux is better for humans
Sans: Gets stabbed.
Automatic captioning: Applause.

What if they put in smash ultimate's sans theme?
@DiamondDude11 [Puro] Yeh, all songs in the game are just loose inside the game folder, except some "duplicates" wich are achieved by speeding up or down other songs
You still need to convert the song to ogg but that's trivial
@DiamondDude11 [Puro] it's not the folder tho, it's each individual sound file
With some formats renaming works, but ogg and mp3 are too different for that
Unless Undertale can actually read MP3 files if it has to (?)
Still, even if it could, it would try to process it as the extension says instead of what it actually is
You can't just rename an .mp3 to an .ogg and expect it to work. They both use different encoding styles.

Looking at Snowdin how do they skip a lot of the puzzles (and also the second sans-papyrus interactions)?
Here is called Snowful
The puzzles are always skipped in genocide route regardless of if the player is speedrunning or not, idk about the sans & papyrus scenes
56:38
い desu ka? :3
whats the difference between windows version and linux version of undertale?
on linux one z or x press counts as 2 during dialogue making skipping text faster
Wait cant you do stronger attacks when doing small attacks on the monsters because their health goes down faster but is ug faster that way
when they do small attacks it means they will have to do another hit anyway so they will often do a full attack right after
这都能TAS,我服了。
hitboxes please
48:18 The part that you came here for.
Why he chose Japanese?
