@@LeahBreHappy There's more to relationships than beauty, but physical attraction is a big deal. You can't just outright dismiss the idea because people would not enter an intimate relationship with someone they are not physically attracted to, and that goes for men and women.
It's also a weird example with wheelchair guys. I've met a guy who was wheelchair bound for life but was way better looking than me, so it's not like people suddenly go ugly once they have a handicap like that.
@@Spike2276 I've seen many unattractive men get dates. It's actually really surprising EVERYONE gets dates. Men in prison get women too, men with face tattoos also get dates, men with no legs get dates, short men get dates, dwarfism or "little people" also get dates, obese men get dates, etc, etc. There's more to it than just physical.
Obviously, there is no such thing as a high value woman if not attached to a high value man.

She strongly suggests that she would be offended if someone said she wasn't a "10." For clarity, my understanding is that we are talking about physical looks, with no consideration of personality, education, or character.
A "10" would be a near perfect woman. Generally polite people don't criticize things another person has no control over, but, being a physical "10" would require amazing DNA for starters.
She brought herself into the discussion: forehead too high (where did her hair go?),
weird puffy cheeks, weird puffy lips (maybe some fillers involved), and I think her eyes are too close together. Rest easy Elizabeth Taylor and Julie Christie, she isn't competition.

This was surprisingly refreshing, where it felt like everyone was willing to meet each other half way a little bit, and the conversation went way smoother for the most part. There is a major communication gap between how men and women are speaking to each other online, but I think when this podcast is at it's best, it's showing us that there are a lot of us who are ultimately seeking similar things and there is a perception that isn't the case, and if we drop our tribal internet language and actually speak to people, maybe we can get somewhere with each other.
So long story short, don't take insight from someone who has zero experience in said experience??

It's really not that complicated. Women are applying subjective feelings to objective reality. A woman can say she's a 10, but then acknowledge there are plenty of women who are more physically attractive, which completely negates saying you're a 10. The reality is most women, and men for that matter, are average, because that's what an average is.

Brian can improve as a moderator if he moderates the conversation to allow people who raise their hands to be allowed to share their thoughts rather than let the fastest talker step in just whenever she wants, then the topic changes before everyone gets to say what they want to say.
What has happened to our society whereby you need validation thru social media to advertise your self worth? You only get back what you send out! I totally feel disrespected as a person with very well established and developed self worth. I'm finding I don't need to be in a relationship that I have to lower my self worth to have a happy productive life. Most potential partners expect me to do so. I don't need to play when your get the real me upfront.

There was a surprising amount of hand-raising to get attention rather than trying to talk over, and I liked it, though I can't help but notice some sort of lighted system, where they can indicate they have a point they might like to add without having to keep a hand raised? I actually hate the rate yourself thing as well. It does not treat women with respect. The type of men that talk about women like this are exactly the type of men who made my previous place of work very toxic. It was a male dominated workplace and the whole vibe towards the women was that we were all just beauty contestants and there for viewing pleasure. So icky. I was there to work.
The point of the question is to display to the world the delusion so many modern women have.

And I hate that argument. People attach subjectivity to everything these days just to cower from honest conversation. Film is subjective too but if your favorite mainstream movie franchise is Fast and the Furious you have garbo taste in movies.
That scale is for the city. Rural areas are probably different.
It's really not though. There is an objective standard of beauty which humans in general seem to subconciously agree to, such as signs of health or facial symmetry. Some things vary from culture to culture, such as weight preference varying on resource abundance, ethnicity depending on the most populous ethnicity in the region, and traits that are common among that ethnicity.
In general, the western world has a pretty set standard which most individuals agree to be beautiful, even if it doesn't fall within their preferences.
