    Brendan, I'd just like to add my thanks for all the work you have put in to spreading this rich and beautiful sound. It has helped me in returning to the piano after many years absence. I'm very keen to learn more, especially on the flurishes you put in when finishing your lesson pieces. Keep shakin it Doc M

    Boogie Woogie, Rock 'n' roll, and blues are all first cousins, which is why Jerry Lee Lewis married them all.

    Thanks so much Dr K for sharing your talent and knowledge. I play some piano, but this type of music has always grabbed me big time. Your method of showing one thing at a time, and showing both very slowly, and in context, is a great teaching method. thanks again.

    Brendan, why weren't you and youtube about when I was learning piano as a kid (early 1970s). Nose picking tutor, Beethoven and Brahms, put me off for life, although I do play pizzicato double bass now. Brilliantly put together tutorials, and superb playing. Can't stop watching. So tempted to get a leccy joanna. Bit long in the tooth to get any good now though I think.

      +Brian Grove Hi Brian, You are never too old to learn. I would say, go for it! You've got the self-discipline now you didn't have in the early 1970s and a lot more material on the internet to help you, so go for it. Cheers, DR K

    Hi Brendan. Got your book. Having a blast. Trained classical. Downloaded the artists you suggested. Thanks for putting this together. I know you get that a lot. On this lesson - I would love to put that other fun stuff in. Trying to figure it out.

    Hi Brendan, your method is fantastic, your lessons are easy to understand and practice. I play piano every day following your videos (all downloaded) and I'm very satisfied for my progress. Coordinating trills and left hand remain still my big problem. Can you suggest some tricks about this difficulty?

    • @DrKBoogieWoogie
      @DrKBoogieWoogie  10 лет назад +2

      Hi Guido. No quick fix solution to this. I would recommend some piano lessons, or else just do hands separately very slowly and then bring hands together very very slowly. You have to train your brain to play this way.

    • @GuidoRocca56
      @GuidoRocca56 10 лет назад +1

      Thank you very much Brendan for your quick response.
      I have been a piano player for many years in the past. So I paid my university studies. I have now taken up, thanks to your professionalism and your enthusiasm and that of some Italian pianist who I follow.
      My hands are still quite independent, but not with the trill (even in the past). That's why I wanted now to improve it.
      I'm looking for a way to do it...but probably I have to do, with patience, as you wrote.
      For sure, I will continue to follow you and your videos, Great Teacher.
      Thanks a lot.

      Thanks Guido. Apart from Boogie, You might like to carefully listen to the last movement of Beethoven's Waldstein Sonata, where there are some amazing trills going on, while the left hand plays something totally different.

      I heard it. They look like the hands of two different pianists ... but now what do I do? I have to depress? Never! I will just have to succeed!
      will be a big mess ...

    • @DrKBoogieWoogie
      @DrKBoogieWoogie  10 лет назад +1

      Take it very slowly. Don't try to do too much too soon. Take a long term view of your piano practise and playing. Also, don't be discouraged. BK

    Another run down similar to this is to start with the C going down which will make it go C, Bb, G, F, Eb, C, C, Bb, G, F, Eb, C. The 2 "C"'s that I have next to each other are the exact same C, not a big jump to another C. It works best with a swinging boogie woogie beat instead of a straight boogie woogie beat.

    I have the lesson itself learnt but I'm struggling to follow the awesome trills that occur at the end of each passage. Are these included in the badass boogie bundle?
    Many thanks

    I have a question: on paper shows that Eb - D - C - Bb - A - G should be played 2 times but you do only one time or has that something to do with what above the notes is written namely 8 va - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ; so can you tell me what i have to understand. Thanks in advance for the answer.

    I love your lessons and have learned so much already! On this particular video, I can make out the ending chords and the chromatic walk ups of the left thumb and right thumb, but the rest of the right hand is going to quickly. It looks like the thumb of the right hand is chromatic, but can't make out the rest of the chord.

    I think you should play in this 'style' more, way more musical than generic Boogie-Woogie
