    I've been looking for this kind of extremely helpful "hands on" instruction of boogie for 70 years. So very grateful. And yes, I'm 82 and arthritic but now, with your help, I fully intend to learn. Thank you so much.

    I’ve watched since lesson 1. You are moving at a perfect pace for me. I’ll be practicing a lot more now because of you! Thanks!

    Definately the kind of help needed to learn Boogie Woogie and so step by step .. .that is how learning is best.... For me its teaching me what I am playing when I read the music and play these songs. So that leaves me with more knowledge about the piano and maybe I can play without the notes in front of me all the time. If I came to a piano without sheet music I would basically not be a pianist.

    When trilling the right hand do you 5,4,2,1 or 1,2,4,5? Or is it ‘random’ Same question for left hand too. Not sure which order to trill the notes in?

    It would help a lot too if you had the keys marked at some points so we can follow where you are, since at times the camera cuts off portions of the keyboard making it difficult to tell for absolutel beginners. I can tell by ear, but not everyone has that developed enough.

    1:03 - I wasn't sure whether you said, "There's a lot of trilling in it," or "There's a lot of trilling, innit?"

    The content is excellent, but why is not possible for the demonstration to be slower?

      Hi Daniell, To answer: Well, for a start the basic video camera we were using here cut out after three minutes! Secondly there are several videos on this channel with "SLOWED DOWN" written after them if you care to search (eg "Right hand boogie riffs - SLOWED DOWN"). Happy searching. BK

      Brendan Kavanagh Thank you. I am going through your program methodically as you suggested starting at HOW TO PLAY AMAZING BOOGIE WOOGIE so I had not considered watching another tutorial series yet. To be clear, it's not that slower is the thing so much as calling out the notes. I am transcribing all your tutorials to sheet music via Musecore so as to be able to refer back to the notes played. Thanks again. I am starting to be able to play Boogie Woogie after 24 hours of practice in two weeks. And I'm on Video #11.

      Great stuff Daniell. Volume two of "Badass Boogie Woogie Secrets of the Pros" (search Amazon for Vol 1) will be published soon. It will contain transcriptions of quite a few lessons. Calling out notes in a video makes things very slow and very boring (yawn) and takes ages and ages. Glad your practice is coming along. BK

      @@danielleceleste4791 you can also click on the velocity options in the video settings if you need to watch the video slowed down and this does not affect to the pitch. :)

    I'm having a little trouble playing my pinking on the right hand, any advice?

    • @DrKBoogieWoogie
      @DrKBoogieWoogie  10 лет назад

      Don't force it, Build up the strength very slowly. If your finger starts to hurt stop playing. It's very easy to damage fingers - esp the little one. Easy does it. BK
