    When I built my kennel, I used a Nail Gun but prior to purchasing, I did everything with hammers. To my surprise, I now have over 10 hammers of all different types, sizes, shapes, colors, and materials. Estwing, Stanley, Craftsman, My grandma's old hammer, and many other brand names. I wish this type dual nail gun was available when I built my kennel structure. I also purchased a separate roofing nail gun. Man, I have some serious pennies in tools, brother. I bought a large electric Craftsman or Lowe's compressor. It's huge and was powered buy a massive 10K watt outdoor generator called the Big Boss. Man, I think the big tool company loved when I came in. I think I own most of Lowe's (haha). Enjoyed a full-watch, Rusty Tree. Have a fine week.

    Just bought it last week, this thing is fabulous! We do a lot of decks and had been using a palm nailer for hangers. We only use the palm nailer for tight spots now! We needed a new framing nailer so this worked out perfect!

    Andy, I sure like that clip-on gadget to nil on the stringer brackets. I surely could have used something like that when I built my kennel building. I did them all by hand and you know what a time consuming process that can be. Enjoyed a full-watch. Have a fine week. Don 👍🏽🙂

    My concern is this gun, versus the Bostitch MCN-150 nailer, is it looks very bulky. How does this gun work when you are putting the hangers on the wood after it is already framed up? Can you hold the gun vertically and parallel to the lumber? To me, the way you shot this one on your video, it looks like you have to hold it perpendicular to the lumber to get the gun in the hole.

    • @1rustytree
      @1rustytree  3 года назад

      You’re right the gun is bulky and heavy but the dual purpose is great, I put hangers on rafters after placing, holding the gun parallel and perpendicular to the hanger depending on where I was on the ladder, it will never compare to a mc nailer for maneuverability but for a diy/ homeowner not spending money for 2 nailers you rarely use it is nice, just used it , had to take the mcn head off and put on the regular nosepiece!! Thanks for watching

      Right, most MCN nails are 30-35 degree, this one is a 21 degree, even the Bostitch Strapshot shoots a 35Deg paper collated. So you need to get the 21Deg. here is the nails I use $47 per thousand. Here is the link I had saved in Amazon

    I bought the Bostitch F21PL2 Gun. The Bostitch online chat was no help when trying to figure out the difference between the F12PL & F21PL2. They told me the F21PL2 came with the metal connector attachment. That was wrong it comes with a sequential trigger. The book says it has to be purchased separately: part # MCN-KIT2

    • @1rustytree
      @1rustytree  3 года назад +1

      Right, the PL has both nose pieces, I kept the framing tip on it and left the MCN nose in the bag with the manual, misplaced the bag, knew I was going to need the tip and ordered it, wasn't a month later I found the bag with everything in it in my gun cabinet! Good luck with it , does the job.

    Milwaukee doesn't make a strap nailer....im pretty positive I am going to retro my 21 degree framing nailer into a Tico gun (as i have the new 30 degree framer i like better) I'm sure it can't be TOO difficult, if I have to buy a broken one off ebay to get the railing system I will (also wanna take it apart and make fiberglass molds so I can use them as carbon fiber molds to chop a couple pounds off that gun!)
    ...not spending $500 on a metabo and new fk'n platform...of course as soon as i do it those bitches at milwaukee will "mysteriously" come out with one a week later!! ....they know what they are doing though, its not like you can build ANYTHING and pass inspection without metal strapping. Wish me luck, I've accomplished more difficult though!!

    Can your fire 3.5" nails with the metal connector tip in place?

    • @1rustytree
      @1rustytree  2 года назад +1

      I think I remember reading there was a size limit on the nail with a metal connector tip on, you can swap it out in less than a minute. 21PL/F21PL2:
      - with standard framing contact arm installed: Uses a 21° plastic collated full round head stick nails, in lengths
      of 2” to 3-1/2” (50-90mm) and shank diameters of .113” to .162” (2.8 - 4.1mm)
      - (Included with F21PL ONLY) with metal connector attachment installed: Uses a 23° plastic collated full round
      head metal connector nails, in lengths of 1-1/2” and 2-1/2” (38 - 64mm) and shank diameters of .131”, .148”
      and .162”.
