This tutorial really helped me out. I'm making a blanket "The Cat's Meow" and although they had instructions, with pictures, making the color change was a little difficult to understand. Now I won't have a problem. Thank you this was great.
I cannot tell you how incredibly valuable your tutorial is!! I obtained a MM crochet kit for the first time & it’s a graphaghan. I’s classify myself as between intermediate and expert, my focus has been cables in crochet. I’ve done quite a few mosaic patterns and enjoyed but really haven’t ever bothered much with anything that requires color changes otherwise. The knotted half double was a new stitch for me as well. My pattern also was calling for a half double foundation row, which I never use foundation rows but understood it would help to keep the rows correct for the graph. I was confused when it came yo color changing with the KHD- I couldn’t figure out if needed to change the color on the first pull through all loops or the next- since the KHD is technically 1.5 stitches. You video was concise and so helpful. Ty!!
Thank you for showing the techniques in a video. I just started the Faith Can Move Mountains blanket a few days ago. At first, I cut the color changes. Then, I carried the yarn underneath. I have never worked the knotted half double stitch before. Nor have I created a graph blanket with it.
I’m working on a blanket that has color changes several times in the row, so some yarn has to carry down the row. How do you keep the stitches hiding the carried yarn from bulging? My blanket keeps warping because some sections just have thicker stitches because of the carried yarn 😅
It is is big spaces between the yarn color changes (like more than 5-7 stitches) I use a new bobbin of yarn. This will prevent the "bulk" from carrying the yarn and eliminate any tension issues from carrying the yarn (I believe this is what you mean by warping).
@@SweetPotato3 Yeah, the blanket splits into like three panels and the middle one has a sort of checkerboard effect so the color that separates the panels and the main color for the side panels carry through that middle and make it bulky. this would totally work and I have enough separate skeins that it wouldn't be difficult to do. Thank you!! Also, I absolutely love your patterns. I see a cat blanket in my very near future.
@@daniellez the pattern you are working on must not be one of my designs (I don't have any that are panel work). I would recommend for you to reach out to the designer to get clarification :)
Great stitch and great tutorial! Thank you 😊
This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much for the awesome tutorial! You are a lifesaver❤

So glad this was helpful 🙂 The Faith Can Move Mountains is one of my favorite designs, I've made a couple for gifts. I hope you enjoy the technique.
Best crochet instructions! So enjoyed making your pattern!
Thank you so much 😀
Cool!
Great. Thanks!
I can see a dog blanket at the end of this video, do you have pattern for that please?
Of course, it is called the Dog Days Blanket, here is a link: sweetpotato3.com/dog-days-crochet-blanket-pattern/
@@SweetPotato3 thank you
Okay I understand the concept but how do you do this for a giant blanket that’s like 50 inches long
Does it matter if you are dropping the old colour to the front or to the bag of your work?
I recommend dropping to the back, it makes it easier to carry on the return row and you can see where you need to bury the yarn.

This is a hard pattern
