VVD literally was the top in every single individual metric for CBs in the PL. By far. Amongst the top, if not the top, in the top 5 European leagues too. What on earth is this guy talking about that he hasn’t been his best this last season?
For most of the season, he played with a rotating CB partner between an injury prone guy and a kid who played half a season in the championship the season before. Along with half a season with a kid making his professional debut at RB and a second choice keeper. Not to mention for most of the season, a back up LB.
And yet Liverpool still conceded the 3rd least goals and won a trophy, thanks to him, despite all that. But yeah, “wasn’t his best” this last season.
Oh and not to mention won the most aerial duels throughout the whole tournament, only missing 2.
