Hello! I just wanted to add a few bits of info:
--- Yes, this machine is not for everyone! But some people love it and will use it. I work REALLY hard to show a mix of options for my viewers. It is like clothing - there are TONS of options out there. You can look at them all.. decide some aren't for you... and find the things that are for you. Enjoy! :)
--- Yes, you need to use Spellbinders foil with this. It is a special type of foil.
--- This does not work with a Gemini Die Cutting Machine. (It works great with my Big Shot Express though.) B
--- There is a similar machine that does work the same. I haven't used it yet but know it works in the same way and the company makes great products. This is that machine: www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Couture-Creations-HOT-FOIL-AND-LETTERPRESS-MACHINE-GoPress-and-Foil-Me-Anna-Griffin-CO725334-CO725334?currency=USD (The foils from this machine do work with the Glimmer.)
--- If you have that Go Press, use that instead. They are similar. I chose to use the Spellbinders version because I remember seeing it at a trade show last winter and being WOWED. :)

Thank you so much Jennifer. That was the answer to my question. I have the Gemini and now know which one to use. As these have been out a bit, I am hoping the price might come down some now with competition.
I greatly appreciate your time and effort as always.

Hello again Jennifer! I know I can always rely on you to give your honest opinion of the new options that are released for crafters! I purchased the Anna Griffin version of the Minc machine a few years ago. It is easy to use and I love that I can make my own designs without having to purchase specific additional dies etc. Having said that Anna also came out with a similar version of this kind of foiling system too. Thank you so much for checking out this machine, as I was really curious about it. You are wonderful about giving your honest opinions about new products and never doing the hard sell to purchase! You are always who I go to if I want to check out any new product. Thank you for taking the time, Jennifer. Most sincerely, Katz Baugh

    Dear Jennifer
Thank you so much for this video. I love all the information that you've provided.
The time and effort that you put into producing your video tutorials is awe inspiring.
As usual the cards are just beautiful and I love the the added wow the foiling gives them.
My husband bought me this as a birthday present and I love it and use it so much.
Of course it's expensive, not for everyone but videos like the one you've made today allows your audience to make that decision as an informed one.
    Thank you again.
    Kindness and cheers

Love your cards, as always! Have the Go, Press, and Foil machine, which is very similar to this. One thing that may be helpful is to show how you squeeze the tweezers together, touch the magnet to the hot foil plate, move to mat, and release the squeeze to drop the plate. Many don't realize you don't try to pick it up between the tweezers. Keep the videos coming. Love FOILING! :) Thank you for sharing your talent with us. You are greatly appreciated! So glad to see this video. I just found out this week that Gemini makes a Fail Press machine very much like this. Just ordered it from hsn should be here mid November. I love my Gemini and decided that I would be happiest with the one that works with it. One of the most fascinating things for me on the demo of the Gemini is that you can cut out cardstock with your dies as usual and then just run through the yardstick with the foil and it will foil it. I can't wait to get it and try that because it seems that may be the feature I would use most. I love that simple leaf outline especially. Would love to see more of your videos and ideas about other things you can do with this. Thanks.

So many machines for that or another. On HSN,I have seen two Anna Griffin and Crafter's Companion. It's like all the Embossing and Die cutting machines. Little or mini to mid-size, to large ones. Manual to Electric ones. "But, I'm pleased to say I love, love my Crafter's Companion Junior and my CC mini!" Thank you so so much for letting us know what new on the market, Jennifer! You are a true "ANGEL!" I Love all your lessons, techniques, most of all your gorgeous "CARDS." Lots of Blessing and Happy Holidays. Don't went to long to show us more cards. TFS. Always enjoy your videos. Yes, more on this machine would be helpful. Crafty dollars are finite so information is always appreciated before deciding on an investment. I've been holding off on the Minc since it requires not only a laminator but a laser printer as well. Yes you can buy toner sheets but... This looks much more affordable.

    • @harriettezmalloy7182
      @harriettezmalloy7182 6 лет назад

CouzCat the MINC machine IS the laminator, it doesn’t require another one. And you can actually do foiling using heat embossing first. Jennifer McGuire shows this in several videos. The heat in the MINC (or any laminator if you don’t want the MINC) reheats the embossing powder so the foil pushes into it. I absolutely love mine.

Looks like lots of fun however, I can't afford more machines and special products that have to be used with it exclusively, nor do I have the room to store it somewhere. Too bad that one can't use the deco foils, which I have lots of. Maybe in another year or two I might switch to using foils this way, but for now, I have lots of great ideas for using the foils I have.
Thanks for sharing this product, Jennifer. Always enjoy seeing what's new in card making and these cards you made are gorgeous. God Bless You!

This is so helpful! I never went for a laminator or a minc and I think that the fact this gives a letterpress foil rather than just a foil is a game changer as it looks far more professional. It might just mean I purchase it. Especially as I don't need to get the special foiling dies if I don't want to. I like that I can use it in my big shot and I don't have to have the platinum. Also the fact that the sand eraser gets rid of the extra bits easily.

I have to use a stylus to help pry it out. Also your die machine is the same one I have but I have to use all my strength to turn the handle any time I use it. It looks like yours rolls through easily. Is it possible I got lemons? I love Spellbinders products but use my Sizzix die machine much more easily. Any ideas of how to fix? Thank you!

Beautiful cards! $120 for the machine is a bit steep though. It also seems like it would be hard to get images perfectly aligned since you can't tape them to cardstock. Maybe I'm just too picky that way. Lol Thanks for the video! Maybe someday I can find it on sale!

I purchased the go press and foil. It basically works the same way. I've had it for about 4 months, maybe longer. Haven't used it a whole lot, get a little frustrated sometimes. However, I do use low tack tape((yellow frog tape on my case) and tape the edges of the plates to the card base to line it up. Have never had a problem with it not coming off the card, or leaving a sticky residue anywhere.

I am new to making cards, dies, and all the things. I am wondering how you manage to center your die/plates on your cardstock with them being covered by the cardstock. I just got the glimmer machine and am trying to figure out how to position my cardstock properly.
