Not really. I'm already curtailed by having to be in dialysis 3x a week, so the longest I can go without having to make a ton of scheduled trips is 2 days. But I'm working on my "Tea Room on Wheels" where I can load up, drive to a beautiful place, and enjoy tea while writing, painting, or visiting with friends. I definitely have a MVB outlook!

Hello, for the last four years I have been wanting to do a van build and one of many things from doing a van build was I did not want to use a lot of wood and others heavy materials that would effect van mileage, and fuel efficiency. I have been interested in using the panel’s they use in commercial kitchens some have firer rating’s. They have ratting in both Canada and in the U.S.. A few of the Kitchen Panel Manufacturers have clearance from the U.S.D.A., there light weight. There easy to clean and keep clean in some of the van builds on you tube it seems like some of the DIY Solar Van builds would be hard to clean and keep clean.
I want to do a van build to do science research in remote and rural ranching locations where I would be located two to four months doing a study and research and possibly be working daily with grazing livestock. I could also be in a location where there are bears and mountain lions. After seeing some of your you tube videos it has made me think a
Ford Econoline Van might work for me. I am trying to plan a multiple use shower area that could be used as a shower,bathroom,mud/snow, laundry room. I am a student so the research and online classes are more important to me than trying to keep white or tan carpets clean living in the middle of no where.

Every carpet we removed needed a hazardous materials enclosure and a moon-suit with positive-pressure respirators.

For the floor in our home-built ExpeditionVehicle, we have a bamboo plank perimeter with slate in the center.
Easy to sweep, easy to vacuum with our DeWalt 20vdc/120vac HEPA shop-vac.

b) clean walls
This's a real issue.
Maybe it is static electricity or the pressure difference while traveling... our walls occasionally collect a weird dusty wax.
A quick wipe with a damp paper-towel a couple-three times a year does the trick.

For your studies of pasture animals, I could see a lot of muddy grime in the neighborhood.
Carpet would be my last choice.
If you have access to an air-compressor, a parts-house or truck-stop should have a hand-held blower used by truckers to blow dust and debris from the cab.
That could reduce your cleaning time.
Reason #6? Fewer people traveling, leading to more campsite options and thinner crowds at popular spots?

The problem with trying to be a vagabond during imminent dark times is food and water storage and having enough. Where would a van dweller store food during severe food shortages/ famine. Unless you have a extra enclosed trailer or shed where you going to store food and water???
Best to get a piece of dirt to store stuff and have your own victory garden during such times if not join others in the same survival endeavor unless one has some serious survival skills and can manage in the outback hunting,fishing and foraging on public or private lands.
@@ravensrun6117 I can fit 50 gallons of water in my van if I choose to, plus lots of shelf-stable foods, and even more if it's freeze-dried, as it takes up even less space. It's a question of what's important to you, as (for example), the more fresh water you store, the less of everything else you will have room for. Keep in mind that the weight of preps, especially water, must be accounted for in your vehicle's acceptable weight ranges.

When I find a place to hang out in nature, I want to find places where I can use the full two weeks to get to know the animals by name. Maybe share dinner with them sometimes.
I wonder if Spirit gives more time to people's lives in proportion of exposure to wid Nature.
