    I was very curious about these two fragrances because I thoroughly enjoy lactonic fragrances, if you ever end up getting the edp of Milton Brown I would really enjoy a comparison between the two. I’m not sure which one to go for! Great video as always, really enjoyed learning about fig milk

    I've been loving musk recently , I've not tried either of these so it was great to learn more about them from you and the edp version of the molton brown has my curiosity piqued to know how it also differs from its edt counter part. 🍀

    I have the Milk Musk edp and it is milkier and muskier than the edt. It also doesn’t doesn’t have the fruits that the edt has. You’re right, I have Milky Musk too and they are completely different. Thanks for doing this comparison.

    Great video! Thank you for sharing this content and I was really curious to know someone's opinion about MB Milky musk. I blind bought the EDP.version,.and.i have to say, its nothing really alike to the edt version, because I kinda enjoy the sweetness in the edt version. The base notes is definitely much warmer more musky than the edt one, it reminds me Ambre Sultan from Serge Lutens a bit. More and more I wore it, more and more I enjoy it. BTW, similar names, sucks, could be better.

    They both sound great and not really comparable, imo. Each seems to have their place, respectively. And speaking of respect, I agree that the similar name thing is tacky and rude. Though I don't think there's a breach, law-wise. IP people, chime in!

  • @CK1da

    Enjoyed the comparison. Ive been interested in Milky Musk so def wanted to see this given the new Molton Brown being called Milk Musk. Idk isn't it kinda like the whole PDM Sutton having to be changed to Greenley due to Bonds Sutton Place? What's the difference? I guess just that Bond made a stink about it and Parle Moi hasn't maybe lol idk. They both sound good to me but a bit strange that Milk Musk isn't very musky. Thanks for this video Sebastian it was a great idea! Hope all is well. Cheers.

    There are certain words and phrases that cannot be trade marked because the words are too ubiquitous in use . Take something like ,,, rose candy for instance. A brand may try to trademark the name , and the entity will say no , it’s too generic of a name in the field . If the name milky musk had been used and the bottle incredibly similar, this might change things. It’s all a case by case basis though

  • @raulsaavedra709

    I think there are precedents of exact same names used by different perfume brands, e.g. Rose Noir, Oud Noir... If I recall correctly, in a previous video of yours you actually mentioned a fragrance name which has been used several times, but can't recall exactly which one that one was.

    Yes the names are similar, but how many fragrances in your Dior Vetiver alternatives video have the same name "Vetiver"? Is that different?
    I've tried the Milk Musk EDT too. In the UK we have candies called milk bottles and to my nose it smells exactly like those.

    Perris Monte Carlo copied the *EXACT* same name of already existing fragrance , at least Guerlain twisted it a bit
    *2010* Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo , *Bergamotto di Calabria*
    *2017* Guerlain , Aqua Allegoria , *Bergamote Calabria*
    *2018* Perris Monte Carlo , *Bergamotto di Calabria*

      I actually did a video about those three fragrances: ruclips.net/video/Mgvlxmaqezc/видео.html I understand your point but in this case I think they were highlighting a specific type of Bergamot which is from Calabria so I don't feel as though it's overstepping on naming but I can see your point if that makes sense?

    • @waltherP99BG
      @waltherP99BG 3 года назад +1

      @@ThePerfumeGuy Well to be honest, I'm a fan of both Acqua di Parma and Perris Monte Carlo, but when PMC released their Bergamotto di Calabria it kind of rubber me the wrong way 😠
      There are also 8 or 10 fragrances called Russian Leather, and like 20 Cuir de Russie 😃
      Recently your least favorite brand field a case against Parfums de Marly, and they had to change the name of Sutton to Greenley, because those clowns already have a fragrance called Sutton Place. I'm here from the early days of "Man Loves Cologne" and remember well what happened. Obviously nothing changes with ... you know who .

    Im not a lawyer, but I don't believe you can trademark a name composed of two very common words. I believe you can trademark how it is graphically presented such as a logo. Lawyers, please chime in.

    • @ThePerfumeGuy
      @ThePerfumeGuy  3 года назад

      Yes you can because Louis Vuitton was recently told they can’t use or trademark the name of a fragrance they have so yes if you own a trademark for a name of a fragrance you can totally tell people to stop using it. 😄

  • @vittorio870
    @vittorio870 3 года назад +4

    Clear your conscience Sebastian and just enjoy the fragrances. In the fragrance world what matters are the ingredients. So long as milky and milk perfumes don't have the same ingredients, its all good. Moreover, as you mentioned they are 4 years apart. The addition of a "Y" throws everything off. Hey even both could me named milk, but from different companies and countries, it still wouldn't be a problem. Finally, trying to prove that milk and milky are the same in court is the burden of proof for the plaintiff. If am not wrong, LVMH (dqme) had a similar tiff with some folks in China but they lost that "infringement" suit. And who knows? maybe behind the scenes, these two may have agreed....idk.

    Nobody owns words, so why be ticked off? If you didn't trademark the name then you can't stop someone from using it. Also it's not much you can do, I don't think, because the names are not the same, they are similar, but not the same.

    • @ThePerfumeGuy
      @ThePerfumeGuy  Год назад

      So you created a fragrance and didn’t trade mark the name and then I come two years later and create a fragrance and name it the same exact thing you’ll be OK with it where is the freaking respect?
