  • A short visit on my way to Ruislip. I had hoped to see the class 230 on test but it had stopped running a few days beforehand. I took the shuttle to Greenford to take me on the next part of my day out.

    It's fine, I'm not too worried about the carpentry sounds, nice video still.

    I have been to West Ealing and the platform numbers need renumbering. With platform 1 being the terminus for GWR Greenford branch line and platforms 2 & 3 for the Elizabeth Line.

    *catches train to station to see special train
    * train doesn't stop at the right station
    * catches another train back to right station
    * special train isn't running
    * catches not-special train to other station where special train isn't running
    * catches train to yet another other station
    * train terminates short of other other station, forcing him to catch yet another other train to other other station
    train nerd: "so much win!" 😅

      Perfect day really. There are a couple more videos to come about the rest of my day, which I enjoyed very much.

    Interesting that 802105 at 3.50 is running on diesel under the wires. A trip I made returning from Bath on a crowded 5 coacher on 17 April also ran diesel only. Has First GWR, along with freight operators, also found that diesel is cheaper than electric?!
