    The reason why MMA gloves are starting to become curved is to reduce the amount of eye pokes, Karate Combat uses curved gloves that are pretty nice.

    Gidday Eli . The fairtex you really want are the Fairtex super sparring gloves FGV18 model . In conjunction with a face bar helmet you can really spar with each other and take shots .

      Those are the ones I have in the video.
      I’ve tried several face bars, I prefer getting punched in the face.
      I find the face bar give more shock to my neck, maybe because you get hit before you expect to.
      Plus you get hit more as you’re giving the other guy a few more inches of reach advantage.
      If they work for you then great, but I much prefer using a thicker glove.
      My favourite now is the combat corner MMA spar glove. This has now become the official glove of the wtba. I’ll do a review and f those soon 😊

      @@taichiworldI just ordered a pair of the combat corner in L/XL and the strap around the palm feels way tooo tight and it doesn’t stretch out for me. • @taichiworld
      @taichiworld  2 месяца назад

      @@jacedragon Wow you must have big hands then? As they fit all my students, some of which have much bigger hands than me.
      I actually fit nicely into the Small size, which I would use but there is a lot less padding over the knuckles, so I'd have to go much softer with those.
      I've just tried on the Venum to compare for you, the venum M is about the same fit on me as the Combat Corner L/XL, but the venum L/XL is considerable larger, so that should fit you well.
      The only reason I prefer the CC over the Venum is because they have the same thickness of padding but with a much narrower profile, so it's closer to the size of a bare fist. But if it's to small then the Venum would be great for you :-)

If they are in fact the correct L/LG size I’ll check out the venom ones.

      @taichiworld  10 месяцев назад

      I'm not the best person to answer that question.
      I don't believe in wearing gloves for bag work.
      We should be learning how to hit with our bare hands so we can fight in self defence.
      But if you really want to, then none of these, get something with far less padding.

  • @kyemalk6328
    @kyemalk6328 2 года назад +1

    With the venom, given the wrist wraps and the difficulty opening your hands, how much sensitivity do u loose, say if you were trying to bridge and do chi sau style of things as well as open hand blocking that involves wrist movement.

    • @taichiworld
      @taichiworld  2 года назад

      At first it feels quite horrible if you're not used to gloves, but once you get use to the feeling its really not bad at all.
      You do lose some sensitivity, I find I get hit a little more, but from a physical point of view I can pretty much do everything I would usually do.
      What I like to do is warm up with out gloves, then get rougher with them, then take them off again to cool down, best of both worlds then.
      I prefer now using the small size, its enough padding to make training comfortable, but not so bulky like the Large ones.
      Unless you wanted to hit really hard the padding on the S is fine.

    Thanks for the comparison, buying MMA gloves is a bit of a nightmare. There's surprisingly little info out there.
    Do you think the Hayabusa gloves would be fit for MMA sparring? Is there enough padding for your partner, or should I find something with more padding (e.g. the venum gloves)?
    Thanks!

    • @taichiworld
      @taichiworld  2 года назад +2

      All depends how hard you want to hit and how hurt you want to get.
      The Hayabusa will protect you the most under full contact, since the padding is more dense.
      But as a trade off, any lighter strikes will hurt way more than with the venum.
      Personally when I spar I don't hit my partner as hard as I can, so the venums are best.
      I like using the small sized ones.
      Of course you could use the Hayabusa and just not hit too hard, that way you get the nice open hand glove.
      I'm going to do another video with a few different gloves where I will get someone to punch me in the face, so you can see how much each glove hurts me.

      I'm not sure, since I don't like wrist support, I wear the strap loose.
      If you're hurting your wrist when punching a heavy bag, you should look at your technique rather than support.

      Top boxer heavy bag mitts are great for the heavy bag. I’ve been using them for about a month now and I highly recommend them. Before that, I was using the ringside sbg. They were okay and maybe fine for beginners, but the top boxer ones are so much better to me now. Bag gloves are great because you can drop some hard bombs on the bag. Bare hands is also good to condition, but you can’t throw super hard punches without some risk of injury. Also, I always recommend that people not use whatever gloves they use on the bag for sparring. I do my best to have gloves that are not going to hurt my sparring partner. That’s just a d*** move to me to want yo hurt your partner. Good luck to you finding something that works for you.
