- While Musashi warned against becoming attached to your tools, in this case, I think he would make an exception. With a nearly perfect design, reliable and durable padding, and proper protection for the wearer and their victim, the Combat Corner MMA Sparring Glove is my favorite glove of all time.

Awesome review Rob!! Makes me want to buy a pair now!
I'm about due for my second pair!
True, buying new hand wraps , mma shorts , shirts , gloves feel sooo sooo good man
This is the best glove video! I am now sold on these gloves. Thank you
Bro roasted us in the begging💀😂
Ever used the fairtex fgv18? If so, how do they compare?
whats the oz
I have a very similar looking pair from a different brand, but I have two issues with them, compared to other MMA gloves (that look more like the yellow ones from your video):
- The amount of padding allows you to strike much harder, since you feel a lot less pain when throwing the punch. That's not good if you want to spar lightly and without hurting your partners. (Also, the gloves that I have actually a quite hard - a lot harder than other MMA gloves or boxing gloves; not sure if this is the case with yours as well)
- Obviously it's very difficult to grapple with them, due to the thick padding. It's very hard to slide underneath a person's jaw to apply a RNC for example. That's not good if you want to do grappling-heavy sparring (not just clinching and throws but also ground work).
Right now I prefer using these types of gloves more for striking/stand up sparring, and the thinner ones for sparring more on the ground.
These gloves are INCREDIBLE
Great review!
But 4:54 resonates with me well. I have training partners who do this and make up excuses every time I encourage them to compete; yet go very hard during sparring.
Best MMA gloves around!
Do you have any tips for going about being a pro mma fighter?
Well I'm not a pro MMA fighter so I can't speak with firsthand experience on any of it. That being said, I'd say the most important thing is train to your best ability as often as you can - be on top of the fight community in your area, and get on as many reputable amateur fight cards as you can.
Have you used the combat sports gloves heard they where good how do they size up to these gloves
The yellow ones? I used those for years. They were serviceable. Fell apart kinda quickly. Was never a fan of the spread on the fingers and felt like the wrist support was flimsy, as I said in the video.
@@CombatSelfDefense oh i was talking about the max strike combat sport gloves they look very similar to the combat corner gloves
So you think these are better for mma striking than mma grappling specifically?
Yeah I’d say so
Calling me out second one. As a friendless weakling, I feel so attacked right now
Im 5’7 at 175 lbs, should i do the small/medium or large
/extra large?
You’re probably gonna want the large
so are these not gonna break on a heavy bag after a 3min sess
Nope
I’m 5’9 170-175 should I get small/medium or large/x large
I would go for medium/large
Not only should you protect your partner but you should protect your hands from breaking!
Are these better than the venum challenger sparring gloves
I think so yeah. I really like the feel on these both as the wearer and as the person being hit with them
@@CombatSelfDefense Because i need to get a pair of sparring gloves, and I'm not quite sure what ones to get
@@dustinthediamondpoirier5028 I swear by these and if you decide you want them, I can create a discount code for you to save you some money.
How is the sizing on these?
Two sizes. Small/medium and large/xl sized hands, and it’s a big gap between the two
@@CombatSelfDefense Thanks for the response. What is your usual MMA glove size and what size are you wearing here?
@@cheesesteak I usually wear the smalls.
I like CRNR gloves but the Velcro straps are horrible. I bought a pair and the Velcro was coming off within a month.
If you bought their first run of these gloves I agree. The newer ones hold up much better
ᵖʳᵒᵐᵒˢᵐ ?
Training in krav maga or you’re jon jones😂
Hmmm, another Jones hater 🤣 Can't hate on the goat ✅
Not hating. Stating for a fact he pokes people in the eyes.
@@CombatSelfDefense It's MMA it happens and yeah, you're a hater. Goat Jones will forever live rent free in the minds of you lot. 🤣
@@darpachief bro zip his pants up when ur done 💀
The best part about being a martial artist is buying new gear?? Tf kind of goofy ass statement is that...
