This video review is not sponsored or solicited by tatamifightwear.com or by combat athletics. In spite of producing more combat sports equipment than any other country, for some reason hybrid MMA sparring gloves are one of the hardest pieces of training equipment to find here in China, very few local retailers sell them, so I had to import some of the 6oz gloves from the UK. Here in China, it’s very easy to find competition style MMA gloves, and most other kinds of martial arts training equipment, just not the extra padded 6oz or 8oz MMA hybrid sparring gloves.
This style of sparring glove makes training much easier and safer. That being said, your Mixed Martial Arts sparring is only as safe as you make it. A few extra ounces of padding on the knuckles is not a license to injure your training partners.

What kind of gloves do you use for MMA sparring? Which ones do you think are the best?
If you haven’t done a video already could you do one explaining the uses for different ounce gloves please? This confuses me when looking to buy new gloves
I’ve used these for just over a year they’re absolutely stellar. Tons of padding and give great connections on the pads as well as the heavy bag. Best MMA gloves around by a mile🏴
@@batner That’s a sad and tragic story... that has nothing to do with the question you’re replying to.
Nice KARATE GLOVES ramsey
Since 2019, I've mainly used the Fairtex FGV12s: www.fairtex.com/ultimate-combat-gloves-with-open-thumb-loop.html
But last year, I've occasionally alternated with the Venum Undisputed 2.0s: asia.venum.com/venum-undisputed-2-0-mma-gloves.html
Love 'em both!
I like the idea of hybrid MMA gloves
But as I train fo' da streetz, I never use them so I can train against CM-Punk style eye rakes
why dont you train krav maga then?
One day I'd like to get a hold of a pair of Trevor Whitman's MMA gloves, these look good too
So basically, Ryu's gloves from street fighter
Thank you for getting a close up on the inside of the glove thats not normally shown so is really helpful to me who has never worn hybrid or mma gloves
So much respect man. I do very well with ur explaining. Like u caught that moment where it would have been an accidental eye poke. Sub because you put alot of effort into this!
This is awesome! Love it.
I like these kind of reviews
I am getting these. I’ve been looking for gloves like that. Thanks!
The problem i have with hybrid gloves is that they limited some grappling techniques because of the finger movement limitation and the big knuckle padding. Work great if you train striking techniques along with clinching but not that good for ground fighting, i still prefer the standard UFC gloves
Ya bro u do what u need to. Dude I box first before anything.. but I’ll be using 16 oz gloves then switch to mma gloves and oh my goodness.. my combos feel so amazing.. just being able to get my punches behind the guard and everything. I love it
They remind me of the karate combat gloves. I had seen them online before KC came out though. I own a mma pair by everlast that has alot of padding in the knuckle section instead of being flat like a ufc glove. They're for bag and pad work I've used them for both they seem pretty good .
I have a pair of combat sports hybrid gloves, they are great and the narrow profile of the padding makes contact with pads feel closer to your real fists. I love using them on a double end bad.
I see this glove in karate combat and defend fight club, they use this as competition glove. And this glove look cool, never knew that mr ramsey review this glove. Because i saw this in karate combat and defend fight club and can't find what kind of glove they use. Glad this video have.
Is it the same brand?
@@RamseyDewey i don't know about brand, but it's really look similar like what you review.
ruclips.net/video/4htA7VibKII/видео.html
this glove look similar, but i think the padding maybe little thin. This is fight video from dfc channel.
My Hayabusa hybrid gloves were £45-£50 when I got them. So I'd say these gloves definitely aren't on the more expensive side either. Sounds like a fair price! :D
I’m spoiled with much lower prices for good training equipment in China (except for hybrid gloves for some reason)
Sanabul . I got 3 from Amazon for like $20-25 ea. a couple years back and they work well. Idk if best but does the job
Which Sanabul gloves?
@@eIicit essential 7oz mma hybrid sparring. Just checked Amazon and they’re like $23
Coach Dewey, please may you do a RUclips video explaining and demonstrating the Dempsey Roll and Dropstep.
Me and my friend both do MMA and we have a sparring mat in the garage so that is were we sparr. We also do boxing
would you do a video on how to get up in MMA? (and maybe how the hell Derrick Lewis does it so easy against guys like Roy Nelson lol)
Step 1: be Derrick Lewis
Step 2: profit
Just stand up
Buuump
Step 1: Have popeyes strength
Got some Sanabul hybrid gloves for TKD sparring. Well worth the ~$25. Almost everyone else in the dojang uses foam. Leather > foam, any day.
What do you think about these kind of gloves for competition? I know the IMMAF uses gloves that look very similar to these ones. I know more padding doesn't equal more safety but I don't think I've ever seen an eye poke in an IMMAF fight.
I’ve seen a lot of amateur MMA organizations use hybrid sparring gloves for competition. For pros? I don’t know.
I've been working on TBI safe gloves for light sparring. Gotta put my foam sword background to use somehow. Open cell, over a thinner layer of closed cell. The idea is that you can make contact with almost no impact with the first foam. Past that, it doesnt do an awful lot, just like a normal glove. But the squishy couch foam should make you able to plink for years and years without the slightest bit of head damage. Of course if you follow through, you still take damage, so like always, it's a control issue. What do you think?
Yep
I've been looking to get a pair of hayabusa 7oz hybrid gloves, but they've been out of stock where I live for the past few months.
1:40 just beautiful
My gym varies occasionally, but since it’s mostly hobbyists we use boxing gloves. In my coaches words “if you can armbar someone in boxing gloves, you know you can armbar almost anyone without them.”
Didn't know the difference between muay that gloves and boxing gym, but I've also trained at 'muay thai' gym where we barely clinched and never did elbows. It was a great kickboxing gym though.
Are you still using these? I’m also in a situation where it looks like importing from the UK makes sense. Are there better options?
The only bag work fo da streetz will land you is interveinal transfusion and the only gloves needed are made of fiberglass and plaster apparus.
Yep. Fighting fo da streetz actually means "I fight to get criminal charges and rack up huge hospital bills while embarrassing my family and being a bane to society."
This is kind of random, but I'm new to combat sports, and unfortunately in my childhood I was deprived of opportunities to fight, so I don't actually know. Whenever I take a hit to my chin/jaw I feel it mostly in my ears and it sucks. Is that normal? I get the feeling my jaw might be more stiff than the people around me or something because even a light hit messes with my ears and it's uncomfortable.
Is there anything I can do to make my jaw suck less?
Are you wearing a mouth guard when you spar?
@@RamseyDewey No. I have one but I haven't actually used it yet.
Use it
Have you used the combat sports or combat corner gloves that look the same as these they say those are pretty good
I haven’t tried those.
Hello Ramsey,
Can you do an update on the wear and tear of these gloves? I'm looking to buy sparring glove and it's been 9 months since this video, can you give an updated review? If you already have, I don't mean to disturb you. Without knowing what I was doing, I ordered 4oz One Fairtex mma gloves. Oops, I didn't know. This style is what I should have bought.
After daily use, they’re holding up really well.
@@RamseyDewey Good to know. I also just watched your video about sparring with the 4oz mma gloves, I liked the advice you gave in there for sparring light not to hurt eachother. I'm not looking to hurt my class, so I will ask my sensei if he is ok with them if I use restraint and control to not hurt anyone because sparring is just practice.
Those look a lot like the Combat Corner gloves. I wonder if everybody just rebrands stuff from the same factories.
A lot of people do.
DECATHLON GRAPPLING 500 GLOVES ARE THE BEST ONES
Check out the Isami pound gloves for mma sparring. Japanese company
What's the bjj finger tape like in China?
Same basic sports tape you can find anywhere
The whole video i've been comparing the baldness between 2 of you
You know they are both masters. The less hair = the more power.
Hey Ramsey!
I have a question, why are boxers and muay thai fighers so skinny, woudnt they have more punching power if they were buff
Wdym have you seen aj , Andy Ruiz , Arsen gaulamirin, Canelo , Roy jones Mike Tyson
Combat sports have weight classes. Sounds like you are watching the guys in the teeny tiny division.
Noice x3
They remind me of wkf gloves
that was my first thought. WKF style gloves group 2 fingers together.from what i have used its actually looser than mma gloves
So the point is that gloves good for sparring but not good enough for Jiu-Jitsu/ground technique, still good tho I guess for that kind of brand
No. That’s not the point at all.
looks like sports karate gloves
I’m almost 100% positive you ended up with the 8 ounce?
Nope. These ones are 6oz. I have 2 other sets of 8oz gloves, the same brand and model. There’s a notable difference.
I can’t seem to fo d the 6oz but I just ordered the 8 probably still ok right safer? Lol
Can I use them for kickboxing
Use boxing gloves for kickboxing
Use boxing gloves for kickboxing
Use boxing gloves for kickboxing
Use boxing gloves for kickboxing
Use boxing gloves for kickboxing
no Poke in the Eye * * * * *
those look like sport karate gloves
Ramsey, your size is on the "giant" level in China, always asking XL or XXL to start with. I'm much smaller person (180cm, mid 80 kg), I remember I had once shopping in China (physically) maybe 6 years ago, my cloth size was XL for a brand I was looking for.
Sorry, the glove was from UK? I think you are still on the large size for most of world population.
Yep, these gloves are from the UK, not China.
Chinese sizes are weird because a lot of items don’t distinguish between child sizes and adult sizes, so a child size might be small or extra small, while an adult size for someone like me would be XXXXXL
ha! imma first?🤔
I give them about a 3. WAIT WERE TALKING ABOUT THE FLOVES RIGHT?
Bruh, those are just kumite karate gloves
