    These sound good! I've had the tofu shirataki. They're okay. My grocery no longer carries any shirataki noodles, anymore, though. The big mistake keto dieters make is as they lose the weight, they keep eating high fat. You want your body to burn YOUR fat, so you need to reduce the fat you eat, and replace it with protein. That's how you get those last pounds off.

    These recipes look awesome. I wonder if the chicken salad would benefit from a wee bit of keto mayo or salad dressing. I pronounce the yogurt you mentioned like oik- ose (similar to oink ose but without the n) but but could just say oink 🐽 😂

    I don’t know if the Oikos Greek yogurt is like their regular yogurt or not, but in Canada Oikos puts cornstarch in their regular yogurt. Yogurt isn’t authentic yogurt if there is cornstarch in the ingredients list. Real yogurt will be made with milk, cream, and bacterial culture. You really have to read the label. They are not the only company to start doing this. I make a lovely homemade cream cheese with plain yogurt. I made the mistake of buying a yogurt with cornstarch. Instead of having a creamy, spreadable cream cheese, I ended up with a very pasty feeling cream cheese. Not pleasant!

    I bought some noodles off of Amazon and they stunk and almost chocked on them, cause they would not chew up. I threw them in the trash, now I'm trying to make my own.

    The high protein yogurt that one that you showed has more sugar though. They do have an option that's zero sugar but it doesn't have the protein. I can't do yogurt like that because it makes my lymphs swell and causes candida back up.

    You should give Skinny Pasta a try. It’s not bad at all.

    • @stephanieilluzzi7355
      @stephanieilluzzi7355 24 дня назад +1

      When you say they’re “not bad,” would you say that they’re “good?” If not, I’ll pass. I’ve had shirataki noodles before (different brand) and I agree that they’re slimy and stinky…sometimes even after you rinse and sauté them. I WANT to like them, but…🤢

    • @Lucinda_Jackson
      @Lucinda_Jackson 24 дня назад +2

      I don't mind skinny pasta, either. But I rinse the bejesus out of them then put them in the skillet and sauté to dry them out. Once dry, I add a little liquid that "matches" my recipe and keep sautéing until the noodles have absorbed the liquid. Typically I'd use coconut aminos (or soy sauce) for an Asian dish, a little tomato sauce if you have some open or a squeeze of tomato paste and a drizzle of water for an Italian dish, or some chicken or beef broth for other dishes or casseroles. I just mix a bit of bouillon with some hot water for broth if I don't have any lurking in the fridge. Any liquid would do - just "match" what you're eating the noodles or "rice" with. The idea is to cook out the liquid they were in originally then replace that with a flavor you like. Works well for me and takes only a couple of minutes.

      @@stephanieilluzzi7355 they’re a not so much slimy as slick. I drain them and pat them dry then add them to the hot sauce or soup. Whatever you’re making. They do have a bit of a rubbery texture but they taste good.

    But high protein is not advisable; protein will become sugar; the best is good fats so the body will learn to burn fat

      The latest research is showing that it doesn't convert over to sugar until you have consume over 50-60 grams in one sitting (one meal).
