The famed action sports star takes Jessi on a hot lap, and they discuss his transition to the stock cars of NASCAR's Nationwide Series and the X Games in Los Angeles.

A lot of hardcore dodge fans are mad that they named it the dart, but it's a fitting name for the car and how it handles. It really is dart like, very front heavy, and very easily pointed and precise.
I wish they discussed what was done in this car to make it so powerful.... if only it came like that from the factory lol
Its a 2.0L with a huge turbo pushing 30+ boost. Upgraded pistons, cam, crank, rockers, valves, fuel pump, fuel rail and injectors, straight pipe exhaust. They took out everything they don't need, AC, blower motors, seats and removed the whole stock dashboard. They cut through the bottom to make room for the AWD system and used a Serev Gearbox and differential, racing drive shaft, suspension system, roll cage, bigger calipers and brakes, hydraulic pullback handbrake.
I'm sure I'm still only cutting the surface but this car cost $200K. It would be fun to build but its not even close to street legal. I wish dodge would have at least made AWD 300+HP SRT Dart before they ended production. That would've been nice, plus I want the luxury of A/C. 😂

I honestly doubt there's another athlete that's had even near the success of Travis Pastrana, and he's done it in so many disciplines whether it was doing tricks on bikes or racing bikes and automobiles in various situations. This guy is incredible, and seems like a heck of a nice guy too.

I figured that the Dart would have some advantages on the track with the longer wheel base, and it is a newer platform than the other rally cars, so that probably can say something about production. Every rally car setup has its pros-and-cons. The Dart is bigger so it's like a bully, though it's also a bit slower than the Fiesta. IMO I'd take the production Dart GT over the Fiesta ST any day.

Travis pastrana is my favorite athlete in the entire world the man is so nice and does everything for the fans truly is one of the best down to earth guys on the planet

Look how wide Travis's eyes are as he is driving. He concentrates a lot. Jessi accurately displayed the excitement that anyone would have in the passenger seat of this car. Too bad the stock Dart is not a factory rally car...
Nah, bro, if you listen to the car itself, Pastrana's Dart sounds like its either supercharged or turbo'd. The difference between the Neon and the Dart is the whole line of updates in engine, electronics, and chassis they put in the Dart.

In the days of adblock programs there's no real excuse to get pissed of at adds. Get firefox or Chrome and get an adblock browser plugin. They're really easy to find.

It's mostly still a front wheel drive based car, similar to a Subaru or Audi's system. It's less likely they changed the engine into a longitudinal position.
Anyway, there would still be weight issues that are solved by moving the radiator and other things backward. That will also help with weight distribution over the rear axle, increasing traction.
fun fact Subaru's awd system is symmetrical so it is fully 50/50 so you are wrong on that and as for Audi's depends on what time period you are talking about because in the 80's Audi's awd system was rwd based.

I wish the dart had more power. I really like them but if i'm paying around $20,000 i need better performance. The SRT-4 will hopefully be pretty quick but from what i understand it's only available with a manual trans. Just don't wanna drive stick on a daily basis, that would get old after a while.

Is the Dodge Dart rally car still using the same multiair 1.4l turbo? If so, i would have liked to know some of the engine mods due to, me personally, owning a fiat abarth.
If they had made an actual Dart that competed with the STi, Si, or even the Cobalt SS, it would sold better. But they did not do a performance trim..it was a Neon but no SRT4.
They had an SRT version planned for 2017, but they canned the Dart in '16. We were sooooo close :(
AWD upgrade, turbo, probably an entire different engine, massive suspension upgrades. If you want your dart to look like this you will need to put another 20k into it.
Hi hi :) I'm sorry for being so lame. It's just that there are so many negative comments on these videos in general. I really enjoy watching them. Considering all the work they put into the making of these videos a lot of people really don't appreciate it. They will bitch about all sorts of crazy things. "the Porsche looks like a vw - the GTR could do better - you guys get money from..what ever". I just enjoy the awesome videos of people driving incredible cars that I'll never drive.
When you build and price a car on their website, there is so many options its not even funny. So its kinda silly of them not to offer an auto with the SRT-4 model.
Please fix the sound quality. It was pretty shoddy. Less music and more of the car sound.

its a rally car thats the point it goes off road and of jumps, the suspension has to be a lil squishy.

Just throwing it out there, the dart is based on an alfa romeo platform.
There are some things in life that I always want to do, even though reality is, it probably won't happen. This is one of them, although I imagine being behind the steering wheel on an empty mountain pass would be just as fun.
