This set of Weber 40 IDA will be running on a 1965 911T in place of a set of Solex 40P-1. The air and fuel delivery are set on the bench before installing on the engine and then checked for correct operation. When I set up a set of re-built carburetors I always start with the air flow setting first, we bench set everything first so it is pretty close. Notice that I only have to adjust one air bypass screw. The rest are left in the closed position and do not need to be adjusted as the barrels are already flowing the same amounts of air. Next adjust the mixture screws towards the lean condition first and listen for the change in engine rpm.
