Mike I am restoring a 68 911T, constantly coming back to your content for tips and guides. This is an invaluable resource, please keep up the good work it s really valued.
Hello Paul
Thank you! I hope the series will be helpful in getting some of these cars back on the road
Wising you the best of luck retiring your 68T
Cheers!
Congratulations on this huge milestone! Can't wait to see the installation process and on the road!
Thanks David
Getting close now!!
Wow! Congratulations Mike. At first I regretted selling the Webers on my porsche, but I didn't have the confidence to achieve this level of fine tuning. Glad you have an expert like Kurt to turn to, and must say, that engine test stand is awesome!
Hello John thanks
Yes it sure is great having Kurt work with us. It's wonderful to be able to share all these things with confidence.
I would love to have his engine stand!! What a great tool=)
Cheers!
Love the progress! Agree that non-visible parts like those should be replaced because safety is priority one.
Thanks Jeff
Yes the new style plastic floats have a safety tab that prevents them from sticking at the bottom. The old style brass floats do not. They obviously had many problems with them over the years. With modern fuels and quick evaporation rates I can see we would definitely have sticking and flooding problems as the carbs evaporate and dry out.
Cheers!
Right behind you..!
Can't wait to see and hear this car on the move.
Hi Mike, hope you're well. Great to see the fire up and Kurt's experience and expertise. Soon be out cruising. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up the good work.
Hello Pedro
Thanks yes its great to have Kurt looking out for us!
Cheers!
Mike: nice!!!
Mike- amazing work. Good call on getting a few upgraded parts.
Thanks 👍 We will try to get them right as possible=)
Next its into the motor car. Can't wait
Hello Graham
Yes getting close now!
Cheers!
Great job... .020", when your doing float levels... is 1/2 a mm.. rough terms, .040" is 1mm.. if you want exact.. .039701".. hope it goes well in your car..
Thanks drcolster!
Nice
Cool
Kurt's the man!
Hello Leroy
Yes Kurt is definitely the Man!
Great! It’s almost in the car. Seems like first drive is coming soon
We're getting closer!=)
👍
That car will cool
Thanks David!
Can carbs be sent to Kurt to be set up? Does he also do the proper jetting for your application. If so how do I get his contact information? Great video. I have to Porsches running Webers and I don't think either is properly jetted and I am not having much luck finding good information, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Hello mikl911
That would be a question for Kurt..There is a link to his website in the description box.
Perhaps you could reach out to him and see if he could help you. I know his business model has changed over the years and we are very lucky for him to work with us on this project as an exception.
He might make an exception for you
Its worth a try!
Good Luck!
Great testing and tuning. Is that also a 2 L engine?
Thanks Tom, I don't think its a 2L although it is a 2.0. I think 2 L was 68??
First!
