Joysticks (1983) is one of the first video game movies ever. Sure, it's about an arcade, but it's mostly about the awful slobs that run the arcade. Anything video game related just proves how much the writers didn't know about games. Though, it's great to see Joe Don Baker.

I was a teenager/young adult during the "golden age of the arcades" in the early 80's, I can tell you for fact there were no naked boobs in the arcade.
That's cause you didn't have a high population of Punk and Goth Hybrids.
Can you imagine how crowded the malls arcade would have been ?

The Nerd character would be the nerdiest person in the room. The Akira episode could have used the AVGN character (or a whole new anime nerd character like Board James) popping up to ridicule James for never having seen Akira before 2019.

My dad still makes fun of his friend for taking him to this movie, over 35 years later.
Nice throwback to an era making a nostalgic comeback. Keep up the awesome videos, you and the cinemassacre team, and make the world a little bit of a better place to enjoy.
To be honest at the time people didn't have much entertainment beside sex and many arcades were in fact crime dens. So it wasn't that far from truth, even if slightly exaggerated.
Nintendo won't license Mario to be in an adult movie, but they do technically own the license to a few, but only to keep the original producers from releasing the film.

I was 10 in 1981 and yes all people from all walks of life were playing video games. Even men in business suits and young kids at age 5 and 6 years old. Mom's and Dad's played them as well. Damn I wish I had a time machine to go back to a 1980's or late 70's arcade.

Gen-X factoid here: Arcades of the late 70s/Early80s were not really for children. Arcades of the era evolved from pool halls/pinball joints. Most allowed smoking, some served alcohol. They were very much part of the Teen/young adult social dynamic. After the games crash they evolved into the family friendly venues that most remember from the 80s/90s...this movie is a nostalgic snapshot of that time.
Vernon Loyed kind of like arcade bars in larger cities? Pay cover charge, play anything you want (games don’t charge), and a decent bar?

James, you're a Rocky fan. Remeber the beginning of Rocky III? Paulie goes into a Philly arcade full in a seedy part of town, pretty much a warehouse with arcade games and it was all teens smoking and hanging out. That's what it was really like in 1982.
Sounds kind of awesome. The 80s were so great. I can't imagine all the cool high school kids today hanging out at the local arcade trying to beat high scores.I don't know, when I see movies from the 80s it looks like Nerdy White Kid Paradise.

The account of James opening the PS3 puting it back together again only to find out something was not connected right and going back and forth fixing and breaking up something new each time is so relatable. Is like something we all have programmed to do in the genes.

I could also see them doing "Dazed and Confused," the "Fist of the North Star" OVA, and probably one or both of the two "Escape From" films.
Also, possibly the "Street Fighter II" OVA. Maybe because they did the LA film (and the fact that this is AVGN).
If you do last star fighter it needs to be a double feature with Cloak and Dagger.
Those big joysticks with the buttons exists nowadays, they are made for the arcade cabinet called Tetris Dekarisu.

She played Prank, Mark Hamill's Trickster's sidekick on the 90s Flash TV series, and later reprised the role on the current version as Trickster Jr.'s mom.
She is so hot!

That's probably my favorite RUclips series currently. Watching it after a stressful working day always calms me.
I'm not sure if this lastpass thing is entirely convenient. Sure, it helps you out with automating passwords, but... What if someone takes your phone? They have basically immediate access to your stuff, don't they?
It's kind of funny. The bad idea is to set all your passwords as the same. The good idea is to have an account with a single password that knows all your passwords.
Your lastpass account has a master password that is needed to access your other passwords.
You should also use two factor authentication on another device for the phone too.

IDK about this app but some can use your finger print censor. I guess if someone kills me and uses my fingers to unlock my passwords, more power to them. Truthfully this shit should just be used for your million random things we use but isn't really dangerous for someone to get into though

I used to go to an arcade in Carmel, Indiana called Porky's. It was the only arcade where the lighting looked normal. It got replaced with an Arthur Murray Dance School. A few years ago, they tore the whole shopping center down to build luxury condos.

I saw that movie so many times as a kid, and I still love it. But for the longest time, I had the idea in my head that the main kid was Fred Savage. Blew my mind when I rewatched it.

you can slide that little metal piece backwards thats close to the inner circle on the disc reader and hold the ps3 at an angle or lift it up and put pressure on the sliding top to try to read discs on the ps3

Just a little tip.
You could also use a vacuum cleaner.
The main problem people have with using to blow air on the system.
However there is a problem using a vacuum system and that is the static electricity that could easily mean the death of your system.
However there are models that use anti-static features. The thing is all they really do is attach a static ground wire to the vacuum tube
and ground the system. What is recommended is that you ground the system and the vacuum tube as well as yourself to remove the static.
Once you do this there would be little chance of problems as long as you ground everything you are working on.
I know that there are people that say it is a bad idea your system would die. However I have done this myself. I do
have a background in electronics repair and it was something I use to do.

I remember seeing this movie’s vhs tape at the local rental store. My parents would not let me rent it, so it became “forbidden fruit” to me growing up. I was sorely disappointed when I finally watched it.
