Lyrics:
I’d be glad to tell you the story
About a solitary road
You can’t take nobody with you
And you ain’t coming back if you go
It’s a highway teeming with blackjack
On every corner young Jezebels
Well they say it can lead to salvation
But you won’t be able to tell
Cause it’s a solitary road
I was only a wanderer
A lonely child of circumstance
When I heard that nightingale calling me
And he flew right into my hands
Well he told me they’d rise up against me
As it turned out this was the case
I saw jackals roaming the valleys
Grifters all over the place
See it’s a solitary road
A kingdom lay high on the mountain
I could see it through rain and snow
Many had fallen in fields beside me
As I cross over every road
When I reached those gates of the city
I was trembling, I have to confess
Eyes of judgment lay heavy upon me
The red sun hung low in the west
On the solitary road

Your back must hurt like hell from having to carry Country music so much.
In his song “This foolish game” Charley sings “My shoulders are aching from what I’ve been lifting” all the deadweight in country is struggle brother! But Charley is the man to bare the cross for all the world to witness.🎶
@@Gratefulman1965 I have seen home 6 times in the last 3 years. He is hands down the King of Country in our era.
@@personreanimation I agree with you. Charley will be a future country music hall of fame member. I thank my son for turning me on to Charley. My son is a firefighter and he travels a lot so he has seen him live many times around the states.
Genuine country and blues mixed together in a dangerous way
Those boots can handle it
So dope has an along the watchtower/evil woman kinda vibe keep pumping out these gems Charley and thank you for the music, changed my life
With a The Band and Levon Helm vibe.
I came to the comments to see if anyone mentioned All Along The Watchtower because that is what it reminds me of.
This is IT. Love it.
Best we've heard for a long time 🎉🎉🎉
Outstanding visuals - as always. Feel like I'm half way to Texas already. (Norfolk, UK)
West Texas....! Specifically San Angelo for the Western Wear store....and Waymore's in Littlefield.
What a jam!
Big fan of the caballero.
Lost Highway
Littlefield, TX.
Home of Waylon and Charley’s great music video! Been by Waymore’s more than I can count.
Easily one of the most talented artists makin’ music these days.
Sure is. No arm waving bimbo's at his show I'm sure.
Yes I believe so also
specifically the making music part.
The best no one comes close as of 2024
ພ❤😂😢🎉
The image that the lyrics are giving us. A little more of your experience. It's the story of many who are ass out, travelling and trying to figure it out. I see that Waylon Jennings logo. 👏
Go see this man in concert if you have not. Hardest working artist in the business these days. Charley is a machine! We are the Webber family Charley and we still talk about the show at Christmas 2022. What an incredible evening that was! A true time traveler of all musical genres.🎶
Was lucky to see Charley play a festival last year. Was a typical shortened festival set but still incredible. In a little over a month I get to see him on the $10 Cowboy tour. Finally a full set by the greatest country singer and guitarist in a long long time!!
I get to see him in June for 10 dollar cowboy tour I'm really looking forward to it. They sell VIP tickets for 100 bucks extra and you get to meet him!
I have seen this man 6 times. I will follow his music to the grave. Speaks to the soul, makes me work hard.
The King of our Era.
Country hero! Fucking love learning his music
Hendrix, All along the watch tower vibes. Love it.
My thoughts exactly
Also I would include a Marshall Tucker vibe as well.
I thought the exact thing... the Hendrix version of All Along the Watchtower. Sweeeet!
EXACTLY.
Yes.. And the guitar break downs reminds me of 18 by Alice Cooper.. What a combination for 1 song
The voice, the look, he's got it going on and most authentic, love this guy.
Hello, how are you doing it's nice meeting you here.
Those so called ‘country’ artists like Wallen, Combs and such, aren’t even qualified to carry Charley’s ge’tar case.
🙄 the guy who brings up “Wallen, Combs, and such” at a Charlie Crockett video. Have you ever tried expressing your enjoyment of something without having to disparage someone or something else to do so? It’s possible, just takes a little more brainpower and will make you much more enjoyable to be around.
@@dillon2497You replied. It must bother you. Cry more and listen to Combs and Wallen.
@@jimdandy8119you replied, so using your logic, you must be crying and bothered 😉
Right on man 😂 @@dillon2497
@dillon2497 u sound like a BBC slurper
Charley is here folks. Hop on the train or get off the tracks. This is the new country music. I've never felt so confident about an artist.
Thank you for this song it hits close to home I shed a tear everytime I hear this one
Current king of country music.
This man can't stop dropping top notch stuff
banger after banger
This instantly became my favorite song from him. I wish this song had lasted a lot longer.
This song ❤ Charley you're on fire. Hope we'll be able to see you live in the Netherlands soon.
The first time I heard this song while he was singing live in Amsterdam concert. I kept searching for this song since then and now I am a happy man…😊
You nail it, each time I think oh you can’t do any better.
Thank you, son of Davy…
I've been listening to this in my heart for years. Just never heard it in my ears until now.
What a way of putting it....brilliant
Yeah
Same here bud.masculine and catchy.
EXACTLY!!!
Holy hell, this comment hits the nail on the head.
Great song. And the video shot in Littlefield, TX, birthplace of Waylon Jennings!
I loved the music videos where he shows off Texas!
Jimmy Hendrix would have loved to play this song.
Yeah
Charley mentions Jimi after He did this at The Ryman a few weeks ago . Another Fantastic Ryman show 🤩💙🎼🎼🎼I actually have it uploaded here .
Sweet tune. Another instant classic from the Son of Davy!
Waylon Forever! He’d be proud I think. “Bob Wills is Still the King” but there’s another King a coming
I'd reccomend everyone see this man live. The greatest performance I have ever seen, genuinely an absolutely once in a generation performer. I was blown away.
Charley can evoke perfectly the feeling he wants to impart. His lyrics, music and video mesh perfectly. Respect to CC of course, but his team is top notch also. Thank You for letting us share in all that you do.
Another absolute masterpiece, and givin the panhandle some light. Doing Texas proud Charlie!
All Along the Watchtower
Boooom......what a f ing tune
He drives that Camino every video? Badass
GMC Caballero, just a technicality. I think it's bad ass also.
I have always thought Charlie’s music is awesome but he also looks more pimped out than a pinky ring. Now I know where to buy some western wear.
Another strait banger, cannot wait until your show in Pittsburgh
This song is timeless what a great sounding song
Damn that’s a good song.
I'm from South Africa and black. Charlie's music is a Godsent to me.
Me too, my friend. Me too
Waylon Jennings would be proud of the guitar sounds....i could see Waylon playing the guitar to this 💯
I wish that he was still here.
So many amazing songs
Had this on repeat for a week and a half now. Keep churning out that gold, Charley. We all appreciate it.
Out-fucking-standing.
I have this song on repeat
Waymores Liqour Store - ruclips.net/video/IzTfzwBR2D8/видео.html
That was great, thanks for sharing
Just watched it. Thanks. Very interesting and it sorta carries this video on a bit.
Thanks for this link, I didn’t know about Waylon’s brothers liquor store.
thank you, good stuff
Putting the soul back in country
Waiting for this album to drop I’m like a kid waiting on Christmas
Pre orders already delivered. Early access
Does this song remimd anyone else of all along the watchtower by jimmy hendrix?
Great song. It reminds me of super hot old summer days spent carefree. Well done Cowboy!
It's been an incredibly lonely journey. I guess Im the only one who doesnt get to see the videos....
No one can come close to Charley.
I really can not believe I HAVE NEVER seen or heard of a GMC Caballero! Beautiful ride, beautiful song
That’s a unique collector car.
@@Gpacharliereally bc there’s one on fb marketplace by me for only 4k? 😂
@@cm6string Just think what it would be worth if it had a motor!
@@cm6string Raise the price to $10,000 and see what happens.
@@Gpacharlie they say it runs and drives. Must not know what it’s worth
Cash's "Solitary man" meets jummy Hendricks
Best thing to come around since bob dylan? Great tune, hope theres more of this rock guitar tone on the album
Boob Dylan sucked balls, so the comparison doesn't even hold. Charlie is a far better writer, performer, and human.
I love the videos just as much as the songs. The lyrics always hit home, even though I've done no traveling or anything in my life. The videos are like my memories from when I was a kid, and I am so happy to see that they are still around even if I will most likely not get around to seeing them again. Good work, Charley. I've noticed that many are wanting to be Texan now. You are resetting the vibe of music. Thank you. It was getting to be like a song on a jukebox (Children say What?) that keeps being played over and over-until you realize-it's not the same song after all. They just all sound the same. Until someone comes around and sets the bar and all try to get in under, or over, that. I worry that is when you will just kick back again. If so, just don't go too far. Thank You, Charley
I saw him last year play this song live and I searched his whole library not knowing it was a new song 😡…. It was definitely one of my favorites from the show. CC and the Blue Drifters are definitely on fire right now! 🔥
Same!!! This song was driving me nuts since hearing it live last year.
Love this jam.😊
Smoking a fatty to this masterpiece right now
Damn! I did not know that Jimmy H was a Cowboy!
I'm a metal head through and through but this hits hard
Charley, that car is absolutely gorgeous
Making real country music
The Texas sound!
damn if i dont say it every time but will this be the best Charley Crockett album yet?
Another one that comes right from the heart. Captures the true essence of country music's soul. Cheers to you Charlie and Band. Dig, DmGrk
Guitar player getting really good
More rock/blues feel - luv it 🙌
Am I crazy for hearing a bit of Jimi Hendrix in this one? Awesome song.
ANOTHER MASTERPIECE! LONG LIVE KING CHARLEY!
Wfuv in nyc just aired this omg....... I'm besotted!!!!!!!! This is literal perfection 🙌☄️💥🔥🔥🔥🔥❣️ completely smitten, #onrepeat 🙌🙌🙏🔥💥❣️❣️❣️☄️
Sounds like All along the watch tower... great groove
Flawless perfection 👌🏽 🔥
I dig the guitar and vocals.
This has got an All Along The Watchtower vibe . Love it
life is hard....this helps
That's all he's trying to do. ❤

This is so good! So happy to see my favorite country western artist rise from where I initially heard him from, that being his Hard Times album. All of his songs are great and it's hard to pick which all are my favorites, because it changes with every album drop.
Charley saudações do Brasil! Mudei da cidade grande para um lugar com praia, cavalos, galinhas e natureza. combina tanto com teu som, obrigado!
Sounds beautiful my friend!! Good luck with your new adventure :)
"...Jezebels on every corner..."
Charlie never disappoints.
Anyone know what year that
El Camino is, 80s? I had a 73 and absolutely miss that thing 20+ years later, was the most comfortable vehicle ever to drive, road like a Cadillac!
another banger as always
This mf don’t miss 🫡
Charley is an artist fantastic
This track is amazing!!!
A sound Always between country, rock soul, all very good
Holy smokes, that Western wear store is in my hometown!
I stopped listening to country a couple of years ago, but everytime Charley drops a new one I'm there. Been listening to you for 10+ years brother, keep it up.
Then you never stopped listening to country!
@@BrettVarve lol true I guess I meant to say consistently
