Lyrics:
Life's a casino, I'm tellin' you
And everybody's playin', boys and girls
Women, children, me, and you
The dice are loaded and everything's fixed
Even a hobo would tell you this
Welcome to hard times and feelin' low
Do you like sinnin'? No?
Well, you will before you go
We've got lots of gamblin'
Oh, and we're tellin' lies
You're certainly welcome to hard times
Take a look in my eyes
Tell me what you see
Besides the bright blinking lights
Stretched out in front of me
I wonder if you'll notice
Would you even care
If I told you my life just isn't fair?
Welcome to hard times and feelin' low
Do you like sinnin'? No?
Well, you will before you go
We've got lots of gamblin'
Oh, and we're tellin' lies
You're certainly welcome to hard times
Yes, hope you're feelin' welcome to hard times

Charley Crockett, Colter Wall, Sierra Ferrell, Tyler Childers, Sturgill Simpson and many more.... Country music isn’t dead, you just gotta know where to drift, and where to look.
Don’t forget midland
I will suggest Pokey lafarge and Orville Peck.
I agree....country studs with 2020 vision

Seriously please Lord!!
From what I’ve been seeing lately..it is
There's lots of artists that have been playing very traditional country music. If you need recommendations, I'm happy to help
@@cszollinger if you don't mind
Absolutely! There's so many honestly. Here's a few of my favorite kinda hardcore country/more traditionalists: Whitey Morgan and the 78s (honky tonk), Hayes Carll (country with some rock and soul influences), Colter Wall (folk and old cowboy songs), Daniel Romano (except his last few releases), and Kelsey Waldon (her latest record is fantastic). Check out RUclips channels like Western AF and Gems in VHS. They do live sessions of lots of indie country and folk artists and some really popular ones like The Lost Dog Street Band/Benjamin Todd. There are also lots of Red Dirt country guys like Reckless Kelly, Cody Jinx, etc that are really popular too, so you might check them out.
This is song is suitable for two occasions:
Occasion one:
A fallout game set in the Midwest
Occasion two:
2020
Idk man option 1 and 2 sound kind of the same to me lol

Keeping the historic sound of real country music alive. If you're listening to the radio, you're filling your ear's with hot garbage.
Not the hot garbage.
It's really not country music today. I dont know what youd call it. But Charleys music is country no doubt!🐎🎸🎻🎙🎶🎵🎶🐎🎸
HOT!!! Garbage
Boy o boy, the best story telling singer I have heard in a long time, I'm 71 years old and I love his music👍👍🤠🇺🇸
hes from the same town as Freddy Fender
True pure country music. All the mainstream eat on this
Damn. It's 2020, and that there is a country song, folks.
try nick shoulders, snakes and waterfalls. im serious you will not regret it
@@RainyFoxUwU He's got a lot of gold. His latest album is really something special for country
Still going strong
Alright, I can't lie, I'm having a crisis right now. I heard this on the radio on the Wind River Reservation last week. Usually a lot of older country, Haggard, etc. etc. I hear this come on and dang if I didn't fall in love with it, surprised that I had never heard it before. I just barely managed to catch the name to look up later - funny, I'm pretty versed in the old stuff and I'd never heard of anyone named Charley Crockett.
Now I find out this shit is from 2020?
WOW.
Pop country can suck this soooo hard.
I'm sorry you're going through hard times right now. Hope you find something easy soon!
This song is new. CC's next album comes out in late July. Hang in there!
Great tune and video, sorry you are having tough time. Seems everyone I know is having major "CRISIS" sending love and good vibes your way! I'm having problems too! Like never before :(
This can start you down the rabbit hole of fantastic modern country.
factssss
Big ol vibe for the world right now.
You're welcome
For real
To hard times...

I'd love to hear charlie and colter wall do a duet and or album together.

It's a shame ol boys like Crockett won't ever get the appreciation and air time they deserve.
I really appreciate his talent, and what he's trying to do for country music!
*Side Note:* Can someone explain to me the symbolism behind the clock and the random old rotary phone in this video?
Comedy Bros just keep supporting and spreading the word...this music deserves to be heard
Seems like maybe air time is a thing of the past. Charley seems to be doing everything right if you ask me.
I hear him on KXT and The Ranch radio. Probably others too... anyway not a day goes by I don't listen to at least a CC song from my own CDs or records or even just catch myself singing or humming one to myself.
@Your Barista
That's plain and simple. He infuses his songs with a mix of Texas blues, classic country, and Cajun soul to make really timeless tunes. It brings me back to the 50's era of country music. All of it reminds me of George Jones, Ernest Tubb, T-Bone Walker, Jimmy Reed, etc.
His lyrics are always fantastic, and they're sure to tell a great story. I've also never seen someone make such original album covers as he does, as well.
His music ain't for everyone, obviously. But for me, he's one of my favorites! I really appreciate the guys that "go against the grain" of the mainstream, and sacrifice fame/popularity to give folks great, original content.
Charley Crockett and Orville Peck are my kind of country music

That's exactly what I thought. I swore this guy must have travelled back in time. It's not just the sound that reminds you of the country music of the 60s, but even that voice. Nobody sounds like that anymore.

I can't believe I just found this tonight 10/15/22. This is the kind of country music I remember listening to while fishing with my grandpa. This is the kind of country music I've needed for years.
Same here. Just saw him on Trevor Noah. THIS is the country I grew up on with my Grandpa. ❤

I just found him today
I just found it too 3/9/24
Charley’s picking up Johnnys torch, people just haven’t realized it yet.
Right
Damn 😲 this sounds like good ole country from back in the 50s-60s and even early 70s.
👍😊🇺🇸
Can you recommend some good old country records that fall into this kind of genre? I was raised on Classic rock, metal, and punk and just now getting into country. I kind of don’t know where to start. I know Hank, Willie Nelson, Waylon, and Cash, but none of that even really fits into this “cowpoke” sort of sound. Marty Robbins has it, but who else? I always look forward to new postings by Charley. I'm looking forward to his forthcoming new album. I'm surprised at the number 12.8k in terms of subscribers. Love his music and videos!! Very cool!
Agreed! Just found my way to CC a few days ago, but that 12.9 is gotta be about to go parabolic.

Another certified banger from Charley Crockett
Nuclear Hippo yes sir
This is one of those rare Gives-Me-Goosebumps songs. That's the true tell that I really love a song/voice.
Next time Crockett is playing to shoot another cool music video in cowboy true west surreal country he will die for. Just send me a message at the proper time and I'll take him around my hills, river, roads, mines, old graves where bleached bones of indians, pioneers, miners, cowboys, explorers.....sit in pieces kisses the sun in the day and kissing the moon at night. from 160 years ago. Outside of Bullhead City, Laughlin and Oatman sits God's country next to the beautiful Colorado River. We still carry out sidearms in full display and five minutes out of town in any direction one can shoot safely. We were founded and built by gold and silver mining. It was once Hardyville but changed the name years ago.
My favorite song out right now, by probably my favorite artist. Charlie, you're the real deal. Can't wait for the album.
Have you heard The Valley?
If this isn't the soundtrack to the aftermath of a casino shootout in a movie next year, I'll be upset.
And he will prepare a table in the desert.
Amen- It always comes back to The Word of God- and yes He can prepare a table in any time, place or condition as you will see in these scriptures. Love yall Much-
Psalm 78:19-20, 24 KJV
[ Yea, they spake against God; They said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness? [20] Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; Can he give bread also? Can he provide flesh for his people?
[24] And had rained down manna upon them to eat, And had given them of the corn of heaven].
If this pandemic has a soundtrack, this song is on it.
Still underrated to the
🤡 mainstream. But not to the rest of the 3.6 million that listened in
Durango Mexico, yo se que la música no conoce Fronteras. Charley Crokett es parte del gusto de muchos ... mas alla de sus fronteras. Music has no frontiers ... every one whos listens to Mr Charley Crokett appreciates Art ... no more than Art ! ...
If I heard this song without seeing the video there’s no way I would think it released in 2020. This has such a 1950s-60s vibe to it, and that’s a great thing to infuse with modern country music. The “underground country revolution” that’s going on with artists like Colter Wall, Tyler Childers, Zach Bryan, Sturgill Simpson, etc. is really incredible to see. The fact that Tyler Childers was nominated for a Grammy without even being played on mainstream radio is a testament to the fact that we, the fans and consumers, do have more power over the music industry (and all industries for that matter) than some would lead us to believe.
I don't even listen to country music like that but this is really good 🔥🔥
I feel this song for shadows the lies we would be told and that our personal liberties/health could be gambled away by big pharma and big tech. Love ya Charley!! You the best brother!

If anything this is an old sound he is bringing back quit belittling others. Not cool fellow human.... I hope
Kodien Sirrup has more traditional lyrics (or cadence to the singing not sure what word to use). A lot of the new country on the radio is just a pop song with fake southern accents and disingenuous “country” themes.
