    This video is highly informative, and it makes this scary condition easily understandable for young children. I was never aware that so many young people had thylassaemia and it's an eye opening experience to learn about more it.
    Came here from Girly_Wolfgamer's gacha.

    Got thal minor ( it's not minor you can't live normal life!). Might be long here or maybe make video about it. Gona mention how I feel symptoms in young age & now how people/family react to it, what works & what hasn't for me. I've had this for years but never really took anything for it until recently. Now in late 30s i feel its affects a bit more.
    Young age I was like any other kid I didn't know about it till in my teens. Dr's either didn't know about it or just brushed aside. I was given a small card by my dr to carry I remember with my condition mentioned on it. Said need to show incase I'm admitted to hospital. But never thought much of it really tbh. It didn't bother me.
    But recently 2 3 years ago had a couple blood test after feeling fatigued a lot. According to my dr my iron was low can't remember exactly what it was but prescribed iron tablets to take over a month. They didn't do anything & I know too much iron is not good to.
    Someone mentioned here the dr say the word "crash" to them. Basically you will crash. That's exactly how I feel on occasions unable to get up.
    Thank God mentally in strong which is how I overcome this.

      I was born with beta thalassemia minor and my little brother was completely healthy. He ended up being the perfect match for me to have a bone marrow/stem cell transplant. I ended up having it twice because the first one didn't work due to a partial dosage of chemo and radiation. with the full chemo and radiation, the transplant was successful. This happened when i was 11 and 12 years old. I'm 29 now and healthy as can be. Wishing your family the best.

      Hi hira, I am 17 years old with beta thalasemia major and I completely understand where u are coming from. Are u using chelation therapy enough because i used to not use it often (bad I know but I had a lot of pain with the pump) and my heart began to fail which caused me to be tired and my body wore down. After I began using the chelation therapy properly (I do it five days a week, the pump) I feel better and am healthier but still kind of always tired. This blood disorder sucks :/

    Hello! There are some mistakes here. This is Iron deficiency anemia, and not Thalassemia. If your MCV (The size/volume of your blood cells) are low, and MCH (The Hemoglobin that lives inside your blood cells which carries the Oxygen to the rest of your body) is low, then you have Iron-deficiency anemia. If you have Thalassemia, then MCV and MCH must be low in your blood test results, plus an increased amount of RBC (Red blood cells) and normal RBW. So not everybody here has Thalassemia. Iron deficiency anemia isn't that dangerous, so don't be concerned about it. Iron deficiency anemia is the most common anemia, and it can be cured without taking medicines by eating healthy food.

    • @0hold
      @0hold 8 лет назад +3

      Plus, Thalassemia usually comes from your parents (This information is not included in this video so I had to add up here)

    • @dianaabouhamia6068

      Dear thalasemia patients’ body is unable to produce blood because of the weak bone marrow and also not able to get rid of iron so they need to take medicine or desferal injection to get rid of iron that stored in their body parts esp heart, spleen and liver.
