    To fix the wake up issues, need the following: MacOS 11.2.3. Upgrade the firmware of the monitor to latest version (1007.2), use a VESA certified cable (as in the video) and make sure in the CRG9 menu DisplayPort 1.2 is chosen (not 1.4, doesnt work, dont know why, but took me a long time to troubleshoot). It works naively at 5440x1440 120Hz. For additional resolutions/scaling options press System Preferences -> Display -> Opt + Press Scaled. HDMI connection is capped to 3840x2160

      I can confirm this works. I tested it for almost a week and the monitor woke up each time. To fix, go to "Settings" on your monitor and go down to "System" and go down to "DisplayPort Ver." and change it to "1.1" or "1.2" (I did not have the "1.2" option so I selected "1.1").

    Does this monitor not have USB-C? I only ask because I have a Dell 49" and was wondering if a USB-C to USB-C connection would work. Regarding the sleep issue...couldn't you just prevent the Mac mini from sleeping by turning that feature off?

    Hi there, thanks for your review! I just bought the Samsung 49 inch Odyssey G9 and noticed the same resolution problem in your video. I will get the cable you recommended. My question is, in order to use the PBP (dual screen) do I need to use 2 HDMIs then connect them to a "universal dock" then connect the 2 HDMIs to my MacBook? I currently only have 1 HDMI connected to my Mac dongle and I can only get 1 side of the monitor to work. Appreciate any advice you can give!

    • @dialecticalmonist3405
      @dialecticalmonist3405 3 года назад

      You can't do that.
      You need TWO computers to run dual monitors.
      The computer only outputs it's signal to one monitor.
      The dual setup is for two computers hooked up to one monitor.

    • @GoldKollector
      @GoldKollector 3 года назад

      @@dialecticalmonist3405 Actually you can. I figured it out a week ago. You have to use 2 HDMIs connected from the G9 to a OKX docking station, that connects to my MacBook Pro. The PBP worked fine, you have to toggle that in the G9 settings. For the resolution issue, I connected the Display Port from the G9 to the docking station, then connected that to my MacBook Pro. All works seamlessly now.

      I don't understand what you are saying.
      You have two screens next to each other. These two screens are handled by one OS or two?
      Are you running a virtual machine and somehow connecting that to the other screen?
      I can't picture what is happening.

    • @GoldKollector
      @GoldKollector 3 года назад

      @@dialecticalmonist3405 I am using one computer, my MacBook Pro. By using 2 separate HDMI cords that connect at the back of the G9 monitor to a docking station then connecting the docking station to your MacBook, you're able to use the PBP functionality with 2 different screens on the G9 monitor.

      But why?

      120Hz max assuming you re connected via displayport. 240Hz is possible only with a more expensive G9 model that costs not $1,000 but $1,600. That one supports 240hz
