Your tutorials are great ! You speak loud enough, we can see clearly the miniature and where you're painting, you give your paints' name... Top-notch tutorial !
Thanks for the comment, I'm glad that you're enjoying the tutorials :)
You've really got me addicted to utilizing Lahmian Medium glazes for highlights and blends. Thank you so much!!!
Lahmian medium and similar mediums really are brilliant, they make achieving nice blends that much easier.
You rock! I'll definetly support you. Please keep the Silver Tower tutorials coming.
Thank you! There are definitely plenty more Silver Tower videos coming soon, you can see what I'm currently working on here: facebook.com/TWGBlog/
by FAR the best tutorial paint job you have done yet. this one came out great!
Thanks :D I was pretty pleased with how this one turned out.
This is one of the coolest mini's GW has put out!
Really good paint job too, gonna be bringing this guide up when I get around to painting my next project.
Have to agree, the miniature is detailed without being overly complex. One of my personal favourites.
Nice tutorial. I like your style and how much you use glaze. I will participante on your Patreon. Keep up doing many tutorials. Your one of the last very good channel for painting tutorials
+Kick Asstou Thank you for the support! It's very much appreciated and don't worry I have plenty more tutorials to do :)
Damn you make it look so easy. I be lost without you right now. Thank you very much.
Haha I've been painting miniatures for 14 years now and I'm still amazed by how easily other people achieve fantastic looking miniatures.
Painted mine using your tutorial. Thank you very much for posting this on youtube. Mini took 8 hours to paint.
Wow! I wish I could have seen this video before I painted my Darkoath Chieftain. Cool tutorial. I have a starter box of Slaves to Darkness miniatures. So maybe I will wait until any hints and tips from you about painting Chaos Warriors and Knights.
I look forward to all your AoS Tutorials. Love to see all the miniatures together when they are complete. Honestly, your tutorials are every bit as good as Duncan's for GW and better than the girl they have!
Thank you for your kind words, the GW tutorials are the ones I strive to be like so to do be compared to them is a great compliment!
Wow. Thanks so much for putting this up and making it available for everyone.
You're very much welcome.
I just finished painting my one and now you're making me want to strip it down and start again
Please don't! It's always good to keep your old models as an indication of how far you've progressed in your painting.
Watching your vids, has really helped me in understanding different methods of painting flesh. Thanks!
I'm glad to hear it! Flesh can be tricky so if I can do anything to help then that's great.
never painted flesh this way i will give it a try!
Totally awesome as usual, this mini looks terrific!
Thanks :D
And again I´ve learned something! Mate your vids are gold!
+Der Wolf Glad to hear it :)
Again, excellent work in a helpful format. Really love your tutorials
+ZiNG Thanks! I'm glad you're finding them useful
Very nice! I painted this guy yesterday in a very similar paint scheme.
The GW studio scheme works really well for this guy.
great tutorials really easy to follow. thank you for taking the time to do these
You're welcome, thanks for commenting!
I've been working on my set for a while now. You paint your models well. I prefer the board games these days as to collecting an actual army. I'm looking forward to Necromunda later on.
I agree, board games tend to have lower miniature counts and are often easier to get games for.
good Lord you are good at this stuff man - kudos! I aspire to be as good as you doing this.. just started a dnd5e campaign, and am getting minis for monsters as well as npc's
Fab tutorial. Make it look so easy lol
Another amazing painting tutorial. Can´t wait for next mini. :D
Thank you very much, don't forget to vote!
Excellent work. I'm slightly annoyed because I finished my Darkoath Chieftain yesterday and this tutorial would have very useful. I wish my results were as good as yours.
Now I just need to wait for your tutorial before attempting the Mistweaver Saih ;)
Sorry for the poor timing! :(
+The War Gamer no no, don't think for a second my annoyance was aimed at you. It was aimed at myself for my lack of patience
Absolutely amazing
Would love to see you tackle the Gaunt Summoner next
Already tackled my friend :) ruclips.net/video/a3AlbCw2aJo/видео.html
Lovely work mate
Thanks :D
looks great...plz paint the Mistweaver
Hit the vote button and if it's top then it'll get painted :)
great job, as always. hope to watch you paint Infinity minis from corvus belli
I've not had a chance to look at any Inifinity miniatures, hopefully I will do in the future.
Please do this with the "Heroquest 25" I would love to see tutorials about that.
Great video!
Would you do this one different if done with contrast paints ?
Sorry, can I ask one question? When I am painting red cloth, I am also using yellow/orange mix or even yellow as final highlight. I would like to hear you opinion, if it is or isn´t too much to use even such bright paints for this purpouse, or it should be used for painting diffrent material, like red latex etc. Thanks.
The vibrancy of the highlight should reflect the material you're trying to replicate. So for a dull cloth you might only use a brighter red highlight and small amount of orange of the tips. However, if you're painting a shiny material such as latex, plastics for leather then you would use more striking colours for the highlights such as bright oranges & yellow maybe even small dabs of white too. This would simulate light reflecting off a shiny surface.
Would you recommend against painting the eyes?
Eyes can make or break a model. Unless you do the eyes just right then you can easily make them look like they have googly eyes. If you've got a steady hand and thin brush then go for it but I find it's not always necessary for human sized 28mm models.
+The War Gamer I couldn't agree more. I just spent an hour painting/retouching the eyes on a mini, and afterwards I thought "If hadn't painted these, would anyone have noticed?" :)
Hey, I'm very new to this hobby and need to ask this... How the F do you see all these super small areas? You pant details I cant even see! Do you work with a magnifiyer or are my eyes just done? I mean even if I would see the stuff I could not be this precice but man this lvl of skill is just frustratingly far away.. Anyway still enjoy to paint my minis. Merry Christmas all🎄👍
Fantastic work. Do you thin your base paints?
btw, I just had my birthday and my lovely girlfriend bought me the silver tower!! :)
You said you added some water to the black paint. Do you not dilute all of your paint? That's something I was always told to do. Just curious.
I use a wet palette so all of my paint is diluted to a degree, however when I suggest adding water it's usually more than you would usually dilute with.
+The War Gamer I should look into getting one of those. Thank you. Great videos. They've been helping me out a lot
Great Job!
Thanks :D
Howd you paint the base?
What grey primer do you use please? and why don't you use a black primer or a white primer? sorry noob question.
I use both a generic brand acrylic primer from a hardware store as well as the Army Painters Uniform Grey. My generic brand is a little lighter than my Uniform Grey. I use grey on miniatures which have lots of bright/light colours as it's often much easier to paint over. I find that black can make your miniatures too dark and white can make them too bright.
Super! Glue and gravel on base or is that a texture paint?
Try Citadel's Astrogranite Texture - Make sure its new. Tends to dry out if left in a pot unused for a year.
Copied your video exactly apart from I used Vallejo paints. Very very happy with the end result so thank you kindly
O_o great work !
do more silver tower "how to paint" vids
+tyranid dude there are lots more to come so don't worry!
anyone who gets this model DO NOT GLEW THE ARMS AND HEAD LOL
