    The Lakers were on a 2nd of a back to back against the best team in the league, the Detriot Pistons. Kobe Bryant was playing with a sinus infection. But he certainly didn't show any signs of it in this game.
    Playing like a man on a mission, Bryant jumpstarted his team scoring 15 early points knocking down fadeaways left and right. He also had an assist, assisting or scoring on 17 of the team's 32 points. However midway through the 2nd quarter, Bryant picked up his 3rd quarter of the half, having to sit down the rest of the quarter. The Detroit Pistons took advantage and outscored the Lakers by 10 in the 2nd quarter. Chauncey Billups scored 20 points in the 1st half including a demoralizing three point shot to end the 2nd quarter from 30 feet.
    In the 2nd half, Kobe Bryant made sure that the Piston's lead would not extend. With Kobe Bryant guarding Chauncey Billups throughout the 2nd half, Billups managed to score only 4 points the rest of the way. Bryant also kept the Lakers within striking distance hitting jumpshots from every spot on the floor. Even the best defenders on the Pistons from Richard Hamilton to Tayshaun Prince could not stop Kobe from scoring. The Lakers however failed to get stops on the other end. The Pistons led 78-68 at one point. That was when Lamar Odom stepped it up and keyed a decisive 18-0 run to give LA an 86-78 lead. That was when Kobe Bryant sealed the deal. Knocking down his perfected fadeaway jumpshot on the left wing, Bryant scored 12 4th quarter points to run away with a 105-94 victory over the Detroit Pistons. It was his 18th 40+ point game of the season with more than a month of basketball to play in 36 minutes of play too.

      He has spacing with no Malone and shaq there...I just rewatched the whole series
      the issue there was there was absolutely no spacing on the floor for kobe because shaq and Malone aren't three point shooters so it basically made kobe just a jump shooter...in that series he was able to get around Prince but the lane was so clogged that kobe was forced to take jump shots and not drive all the way to the hole...it made him one dimensional as opposed to kobe being able to utilize all his arsenals and skills...because shaq was in the post kobe couldn't take prince to the post to get higher percentage shots...

    March 4th (meaning close to the end of the season) and Kobe with 35.1 PPG,5.4 RPG, 4.7 APG and 1.8 SPG
    And still did not receive MVP.
    That's happened many times in his career.He is not the most loved by the NBA.

      Kobe only led them to 45 wins and they lost to Steve Nash's Suns with no Amare Stoudemire in the 1st round. Nash led them all the way to the WCF without his best teammate proving he was much more deserving of MVP and while beating Kobe in the process after being down 3-1.
      In 2003 Duncan led a scrub team to the best record, and played much better defense than Kobe. Robinson was 37, Parker and manu were young and didn't do much. Kobe had Shaq and still only had 50 wins. Plus Kobe was 5-10 without Shaq that year. And Duncan proved he was better when he eliminated Kobe and Shaq at the same time in the playoffs

    • @nikosofidemporas
      @nikosofidemporas 8 лет назад +3

      The Worst Boxing Judge Haha srub team the spurs?Yes,Duncan was phenomenal that year but still Parker and Ginobilli,whatever their age and Robinson provided great assistance..
      At that year Kobe led the Lakers while Shaq was hurt by injuires,even when he played he was not at good shape so the 5-10 without Shaq does not tell me much..Kobe made a historic run of 35+ point games.
      And did you seriously compared Lakers and Suns team in 2006??They had a big difference even if you extracted Nash and Kobe .The others could not even get a rebound to win the series..

    I believe that was Kobe's most prime year. He was an offensive juggernaut that willed his teams to victory. I mean Jesus - Smush Parker and Brian Cook were in the starting lineup, with Kwame Brown off the bench! Replace Kobe with Rip Hamilton, an all-star in his own right, and that team never even comes close to making the playoffs.

      Hey u ignorant fans the guy is right after 03-04 they completely banned hand checking rules back in 00-01 season was the most significant changes as they removed the continuously apply of the hand or forearm... U could hand check below the free throw line extended and only use ur forearm.. But in 2004-05season it was prohibited and and any contact with ur hand or forearm was a foul... Maybe kobe could have played better in 04 move more without the Ball and drive a little bit more.. But that years kobe had some problem its True and he was the slowest kobe ive seen since 1999...

      That was in the 07-08 season actually, if you're referring to the game Kwame told Kobe *NOT* to pass the ball to him when he was open because he'd get fouled and miss the FTAs.
