Trail Blazers @ Lakers, April 14, 2006 | The Lakers needed just two more wins to clinch a spot in the playoffs, and the NBA's leading scorer Kobe Bryant needed 16 points to surpass Elgin Baylor for the Lakers franchise record in total points scored in one regular season. Kobe broke the record early in the third quarter with a three pointer on the left wing. As if breaking the record wasn't enough, Kobe decided he'd also go ahead and torch another team for 50 points, making it six 50+ point outbursts on the season. He finished the night with 50 points (17-28 FG), 6 rebounds & 5 steals. The Lakers pulled away from the struggling Blazers 110-99 and the magic number for the postseason became 1.

IMO 2005-06 Kobe was at his absolute peak as an individual player. The problem is that the 2005-06 Lakers had Kwame Brown and Smush Parker in it's starting line up. Imagine this version of Kobe on the 2009 and 2010 championship teams.

Judah Mourneth he got 5 chips what u mean lol that makes no sense btw Kobe averages 25.6 career ppg in 15 years and 25.0 in 20 years of regular season play . So he actually increased his scoring during the playoffs by .6 , so u do the math on the big games he had in the playoffs. Smh
